After seeing both this and episode 26 of Prime, there should be no more doubt that WFC/Exodus/Exiles/FoC are related to Prime and not to G1. ;)

Now I wanna see Bulkhead in this. 8)

I want to see Bulkhead with a new melee system that works with his wrecking ball punches :D

I suggest you get the new Gameinformer. It came in today and it's awesome. Vortex is in it. You can go from helicopter to jet with him and such. They took co-op out of the campaign but they talked about how you play Bruticus in the story. Escalation is coming back. And Grimloc plays like a brute from WFC because he's huge and has a sword and shield

He's a triple-changer now?

I don't think he's a triple changer but like, turns into a jet when you hit L1 to go fast like Starscream and using the helicopter mode for the hover part.

So I guess it's safe to assume that Brawl and Onslaught are Combaticons too, and that yellow bot seen before is Swindle. Shame I can't buy the magazine, I would have liked to read the article. Hopefully they'll make a short story about FoC in local gaming magazine.

I never cared about co-op in WFC, so I'm not losing anything. It was annoying when you tried to play it and you had company who didn't really know how to play the game...

ESCALATION, YES! :D Pretty much only reason I'm still playing WFC (good players have disappeared from multiplayer), so naturally I'm glad it's back in FoC.

I'm still guessing that's Sunstreaker. I hope we get Superion or Defensor to fight Bruticus

Personally, from the very first day, I've been wishing it would be Sunstreaker. But you never know. ;)

IIRC, Exodus had Defensor. And in WFC we already got Silverbolt and Air Raid, so I guess if we get Autobot combiner, it'd be easiest to have Superior.

Nice info on the guns, and the look of some of the characters! I'm guessing only OP and Megatron gets much of the design revision on their looks? CJ looks about the same, only thinner IIRC...

Yeah, I guess we're getting Superion since both of the characters are in-game. Can't say the same for Bruticus since there's only Brawl in WfC, but we do have Breakdown... So that has to mean something (Menasor...? Nah :P)

I hope next update of the game tells us of how many characters we're getting in game, Autobots and Decepticons alike.

And in DLC packs we got Onslaught and Dead End. Then again, I think DS versions had Motormaster and Dragstrip too, at least they have concept art. :P

lol, and why did I write "Superior"? Stupid me... :BANG_HEAD:

By the looks now it seems we're getting more characters than we had in WFC. Especially when combiners are involved. But I'm fine with that. More characters means more characters in Escalation. 8)

The Illustrated Tour Of Cybertron

Cybertron, Iacon, Sea of Rust, Space Bridge, Insecticon Invasion, Shockwave's Lair, Kaon, the Nemesis, the Ark, Teletran.

Of note, the Nemesis looks very faithful to its look in the Prime cartoon.

EDIT: D'oh, my long post slowed me down too much Sabrblade! XD /edit

Ooh, looks like no one's added the latest gameinformer.com update to the thread. :)
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/ ... rtron.aspx
It's a thing of beauty. Looks like they want to hit even more dramatic and varied environments. I personally loved the Star Galleries and Kaon as my Number 1 and 2 fav. places in WfC, and these are looking equally as interesting.

Also, it looks like several questions that have been posed get answered here too. :)
I think someone mentioned they didn't know where Cybertron was in relation to Earth in this continuity?
"The home planet of the Transformers is a world of metal on the far side of the galaxy from Earth."
So, the other side of the Milky Way?

"Long ago, Cybertron and its inhabitants experienced a golden age of expansion, scientific growth, and peace. Cybertronian civilization spread out to colony worlds across the galaxy."
So even before the Exodus in the first game, there are already existing colonies on other planets, assuming they weren't all abandoned during the civil war.

"The calculating Decepticon scientist, Shockwave, has uncovered a last functional space bridge, and is slowly unraveling its secrets. He has already used it to examine a far distant planet filled with organic life – a place that will later be called Earth by its inhabitants. On Earth, he observes hulking reptilian beasts that inspire his dark science experiments. He has captured a powerful squad of Autobot warriors led by Grimlock, and those unfortunate soldiers will fall victim to Shockwave’s experiments as he tries to recreate those distant dinosaur creatures here on Cybertron. "
Some stuff we already knew, and maybe some we didn't have confirmed before now...

And I love love LOVE that they've brought in the insecticons here this way! Reminds me of AHM.
"While the surface of Cybertron is populated by intelligent, sentient robots, the underground is filled with dangerous metallic creatures of a more sinister and mindless variety. Many of these creatures have been forced to the surface after the core of the planet was poisoned by dark energon. Shockwave has taken the already dangerous Insecticon hordes and further modified them, making them an even more malicious threat. "
Also supporting the whole "Cybertron naturally has variants on indigenous robot life" theory. Beyond humanoids, that is. So Trypticon could go either way at this point.

And there are few things that maybe sort of hint at some fun stuff to theorize....
"Long ago, Cybertron and its inhabitants experienced a golden age of expansion, scientific growth, and peace. Cybertronian civilization spread out to colony worlds across the galaxy. That civilization came to a tragic end millennia ago, leaving behind relics and remnants of a time when the Cybertronians were more powerful than they are today... "
"...In fact, while traveling across the Sea of Rust, players will see the fallen corpses of massive robots – members of the fallen civilization that once traveled the stars. Now, these robotic bodies are like mountains and valleys in the wastes, memories of a forgotten power. "

Robots like Omega Supreme and Trypticon could be like what they're referring to, or it could be Gestalts, or city-formers, or anything else.

By the by, The fact that the Sea of Rust is going to be a map/level makes my life complete. From the first moment I heard about the place years ago, I thought, "nah, that'll NEVER make it's way significantly into the franchise's plot at some point." (But obviously I thought it was just an awesome thought from the mere name) But at the same time I didn't think we'd get a non-tv series or movie tied game (I'll consider TFP coming after WfC, especially since the general public has no idea that they're connected unless they initially believe all continuities are connected...generalization :S), especially set exclusively on Cybertron. I am happy, no matter how it compares to WfC gameplay wise, at least it will have the Sea of Rust. :D :)

Colony worlds such as Velocitron and Junkion (and Gigantion). All mentioned in Exodus and Exiles. They have not been abandoned, but have instead become isolated and cut off from Cybertron since the collapse of the Space Bridge network.

While Exodus did touch upon the Insecticons a little bit, all it showed of them was a combining trio that had been experimented on by Shockwave and fought/were killed by Megatronus in the gladiatorial Tournament of Champions. Makes sense for there to be more of them.

Well, I don't mean Trypt or Omega individually, I mean as a sort of sub-species or type of Cybertronian in their size/function. Make sense? Basically, they hint at there being more of the larger Cybertronians present in the past, and that Cybertronians in general were more powerful (but in what respect? gestalt/teamwork, brute force, intelligence? All of the above?). Right?

You need to. The stories of the books are very different from those of the games, and the Prime cartoon seems to tie in more with the books than with the games. ;)

Hmm, off the top of my head, I can't recall Exodus talking of larger TFs during the pre-war times (Unicron's attack --> the War of the Primes --> the Age of Wrath --> the Golden Age --> the rise of the caste system --> the war). Though, during the Golden Age, Bruticus Maximus was created by Shockwave as the first gestalt, but his combined form proved too unstable and was put into stasis. He did not resurface until later in the war, which he took part in as an active living combatant.

Other combiners, the Devastators and Defensor, did not show up until during the war.

Believe it or not, that's not encouraging me to want to read them, LOL. If the reverse were true (more game friendly) than I would be inclined. It's not that I don't like Prime, but I'm more interested in games. And since it's my college major, it helps if I sort-of focus on games for school, lol.

Sabrblade wrote:Hmm, off the top of my head, I can't recall Exodus talking of larger TFs during the pre-war times (Unicron's attack --> the War of the Primes --> the Age of Wrath --> the Golden Age --> the rise of the caste system --> the war).

Based on the images that [aesthetically] remind me immediately of Omega, but even bigger, I'm inclined to think not of Gestalts, but primarily City-formers at this point. Granted I haven't seen a gestalt for this continuity yet so I don't have a full data stream to pull from for that decision. It also dredges up what part Metroplex might have in the game though, considering how large they look in the images in the Rust Sea / Sea of Rust (initially I was more supportive of calling the thing in that image Fort Max, but apparently Metroplex is mentioned in the Mag, so I'll stick with it....for now, *evil laugh*).
I would then be inclined to think that Shockwave would create the gestalts as a call back to their former glory as Cybertronians; his attempts at once again reaching whatever pinnacle they were at and now apparently don't have full records of anymore. *shrug*

Well, I'm just saying, if ya want the full story, the books are the way to go. Compared to Exodus, WFC's story was pretty bare-boned. :-B

Nah, Shocky ain't that deep. He experiments for sadistic and sinister purposes, rather than for philosophical reasons. ;)

Cybertron, Iacon, Sea of Rust, Space Bridge, Insecticon Invasion, Shockwave's Lair, Kaon, the Nemesis, the Ark, Teletran.

Of note, the Nemesis looks very faithful to its look in the Prime cartoon.

Here's the problem with that. WfC had a big gallery of art that looked like that. Not exactly, mind you, but the same style, incredibly impressive landscapes and such. And very, very little of it ended up being used to make anything in the game. While it looks beautiful (And some of them are screenshots rather than art) keep in mind that it's highly unlikely this is what the game will look like.

Hmm.. that first pic at the top of the Illustrated Tour looks like it could be their version of Metroplex carrying Trypticon...

I do like their new take on the mythology.
