Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
I decided there needs to be, somewhere, a place for poeple to ask for help or bring up general questions about the game. Anything to do with problem areas in levels, questions about customizing, online play and so on.
So ask away.


My first question:
In Death of Hope on the Decepticon campaign, what do you do at the power conduit tunnel where the big energy blasts are coming out. It says objective is to find another way to the bridge but where?Im just standing there walking around forever now. Nothing is happening or indaicating what to do or where to go.

bust open the door and drive down the tunnel (taking care to use careful timing to avoid the big blasts)?

I beat both the campaigns and this may be where you're stuck. If it is, just be careful and don't get fried.

In the first chapter of the Autobot campaign. I'm trying to get the revive 5 downed allies trophy. My dilemma is at the part where you have to ride the turbines to get across the chasm, there's one of those downed guys. I tried to find the fastest way to him and make risky jumps and all that. But still he blows up before I can even reach. Does someone have a good way to get to him and still be able to revive him?

Does anyone know why in Team Death Match you die so fast? And when you try to kill someone it takes an eternity? Sometimes I'll use round after round with my weapon on someone, direct shot and all, and theyre still not dead but they hit me once or twice and Im dead.??? :BANG_HEAD: What gives?!
And how long do you have to wait before you can use your R2 ability? Sometimes I need it and I cant use it cuz I just used it and I guess and I have to wait for time to pass?.....but how long? Seems too long.

Unfortunately WFC goes by the leveling ability, where higher levels will have the better abilities. All i gotta say is you just gotta play through it, adapt, and use melee! :P

yeah I figured that. I think Im getting better though as I play. It was so rough at first. But now Im a Level 12 seeker and am averaging about 800-1000 points a match. Not bad, huh? One time I got 1800 points. I got all these health Matrix and 2.0 stuff
(I have no idea how and what those are). You start getting the hang of it around level 9.

However does anyone know how long you have to wait before you can use your R2 ability? Again, Sometimes I need it and I cant use it cuz I just used it and I guess and I have to wait for time to pass?.....but how long? Seems too long.

YES! YES!!!!!! I thought it was just me and my sucky life! Glad to see Its not me thats the problem. I get killed in like 1 shot, while I waste a whole pack of ammo on one person, hit them with meele attacks, and they still live!

I got the same problem other only hit me once or twice and i'm dead will i need to unload a entire ammoclip to ge someone killed

All right, this one has been bugging me for a while: Just what is Prime Mode exactly? I've heard it resets your characters and gives you an avatar for your PSN account. Please tell me it's something less stupid.

The Health Matrix 2.0 thing is one of your classes kill streaks. If you get 3-5-7 kills in a row, you get to activate the kill streaks.

I believe the R2/L2 abilities are around reactivate, every minute or so, faster if it's one of your abilities.

As a Level 15 Scientist, I really hate how long the Drain, Shockwave and also Sentry abilities can take to recharge. Usually I have to unload everything when I enter a fight just to be able to have a chance against those leaders and soldier types. Then I end up running, if I can, and go and hide for what seems like forever before I can enter the fight again. A scientist is useless without his special abilities.

I wish kills would count as energon refill for your abilities, just like the single player mode.

Ha ha ha! I hate the wait, too. Many times I just ran into them, got my self killed (sometimes luckily killed them first), and then again I have those abilities. Now just seek them again and try to get my payback points. :lol:

One question here. I know in death match, it's a random choice of the side by the server. But so far, I've never been an autobot in the death match. Anyone has this issue also?

I hope someone answers that question paul, cause I've seen people jump to the other side before a match. I have no idea how do you this.

Here's a quick multiplayer tip for scientist players.

Put you sentry guns up high above the capture node. Don't just lay it at the capture node or it will be destroyed. You can do this by transforming and flying up, preferably a place out of view behind a wall, etc that has a direct line of fire to the capture node. Then transform in the air and immediately release the drone. Sometimes I hover on the opposite side and now you have a 2 prong attack of sentry missle/gun on one side and your missles as a jet hovering on the opposite side.

I know what you mean. Its all about Strategy.
What Ive learned is when you enter a fight, release your sentry immediately and throw a health grenade to dome yourself and melee everyone. Then use your shockblast and then again with melee, Melee, MELEE!!! (you may have to use your shockblast first depending on how many enemies are surrounding you as you enter the fight). It all has to be done one right after another very quickly. You should last for awhile while your protected by your health grenade and while your Sentry is helping you out.
When your special abilities have ran out, and if your still alive, Transform and take off and go into Sniper mode. Find a nice hiding spot somewhere up high and use your Photon Rifle and take out enemies from a far. You can even transform into jet mode and take them out with your jet mode weapon (that actually does more damage, Ive killed alot by doing that). *Remember you are a jet. You have the most coveted ability of them all.......you can FLY...use it!*
When your special abilities have been restored, Transform and go back and enter a fight and repeat. Another good tip is let your team mates beat the hell out of the other team for you then fly down and sneak in into the middle of the fight and use your Shockblast to take out 2 or 3 enemies at once. Since your team already gave them enough damage you can finish them off with your shockblast.
You should also use your upgrades like Increasing your Shockblast, Sentry armor and power, and Health grenade duration.
Theres no clear cut way to achieve not dying but hoepfully this will help you live a bit longer and kill some enemies along the way.

If you dont want to be whatever campaigne your placed into then exit the game before it starts and keep entering different games untill your in the campaigne you want.

I'm not going to help you guys out with the single player campaign unless u want to Co-Op it. My comp hates frapping.

But I will help you with your multiplayer skills.

- Let me start by saying... at level 0 i was going no worse than 7:1 kdr as a scout(so its not about level as much as adapting your play) and no better than 1:4 as a leader.


HERES MY SCOUT STYLES... It might help. I use the rambo build for most maps unless its soldier/tank heavy (see build 2) or Scientist heavy (see build 3)

I personally play my scout about 95% of the time... he just fits my play, twitch aggro get in the frenzy and stay in the frenzy(notice on rambo and tanker the more KBs u can land the more likely u are to survive that assclown u just killed's support fire, so dont run, GET DIRTY.) I run all 3 presets which roughly go:
-- dash/cloak, scatter gun+battle pistol, +dmg coming out of cloak, +health per kill, +ammo.
this is my Rambo setup (its also the lowest level req setup) anytime my dash is off CD its being used. I never go car. Run around... if its a leader or a soldier... Cloak and get as close as possible... scatter from the closest range u can get... then dash right at em and sword... dbl jump away dash left or right... find cover. Lead the target w/ an EMP grenade if he's not already dropped. and go the opposite route of the emp. turn on cloaking and set ur kill back up. Don't get caught in a sword fight. NEVER melee a soldier unless u know its going to be a killing blow ie 6 or 7 shots of a scatter were direct hits (yes that means reloading) Whirlwind is not a game.
-- dash/mark, scatter gun+plasma blaster (i only use this if i see a lot of soldiers in tank form... cuzz i like the +xp from the achievements for nuking em), +dmg from cloak, +dmg on marked target
Dont even think about using that plasma blaster unless ur stealthed and the tank is obviously fixated on someone else. It won't one shot even after a full charge on a marked Soldier/Leader. Scatter a bot once or twice... stealth behind cover and start charging some plasma(this style only works against cowards)then strafe out, mark him, strafe back behind cover... this should buy u the time you need to get to 80% charge + then dance out and drop the nuke. If its not a one shot dash at him and lay a sword. Still no kill? bounce out and switch to scatter. Dont think just cuzz he's almost dead u have time to switch to ur weapon that still has a clip. Thats where i get 70% of my dash melee kills.
-- Decoy(trap)/mark, Battle Rifle+Null Ray, +dmg on mark +stun dmg on trap, Leg Servos.
This is the only setup I don't use dash and + heals on kills. Reason being If im in a dogfight with this setup, ive probably already lost. Use the trap as ur exit strategy. Null ray unless spotted, then switch to battle rifle and walk back while laying down cover. Drop a trap right at a corner bend or a meter out from that nice box u decided to take cover behind. Have ur melee button ready! if u catch your prey with the trap pop a quick double tap w/ your battle rifle and follow it up w/ a sword. Nothin survives that.


Sci
If you're playing a scientist and you are NOT planning on healing i personally like to use a repair sentry/siphon setup w/ the assault rifle. I don't toss a grenade unless im flying up to the front and see a cluster of my team under some serious heat. Otherwise i toss the nade as im dying and hope one of my teammates comes and gets the confidence to avenge me from seeing that lovely heal bubble i just laid down. If you cant survive a gunfight with a repair sentry spamming on u and a siphon life chances are a grenade ontop of it is just stalling ur death. The deadliest scientist ive ran into will fire a rocket from jet mode about 10 feet from me, shift to bot smash a hammer on me, go jet and fly away while im being knocked back. He would repeat this until he landed the kill. I CANT REPLICATE THIS but i assure you that dude was a nightmare.
It's also important to remember your Leader should have Intercoolers running at all times (this reduces ur recharge on sentry/shockwave) So give ur healing grenade priority for him. Just keep an eye out. Better to get to spam Shockwaves than use ur healing grenade selfishly to squeeze out one kill and have all ur stuff on cooldown.

Leader
Until i got Molecule Bomb this class was my most hated. You can't get the big guns, Barrier blows unless ur playing Conquest, Grenade Launcher DOES let you setup some SICK traps if your being pursued, but hardly ever gets a kill before any other class either out juked ur slow bott or out gunned you. The best setup I've found as a leader is Fusion Cannon + Grenade Launcher, Molecule Bomb/Warcry, +ram dmg +molecule bomb. NEVER take point. You're too slow to dodge or get out of a Scrapmaker x12, Sci jet smash, Scout dash. Stay in the back... Watch a teammate initiate, charge his combatant as a truck (it hurts) and shift out soon as you make contact, warcry for your buddy and start jumping back while keeping those fusion cannons on the target. If his buddies start showing up drop that molecule bomb and reload while they are all slowed and being drained. Lay down some grenades in front of u, detonate when they start to come at you (they always do, cuzz u look like a coward running away*they dont know you have 80% health still) detonate those nades. STILL didn't get the kill? pesky overshields... 1 axe after a 3 pack of nades being detonated and anything dies. Just stick em to the side of a wall or box only u see as they will surely give pursuit and as they turn the corner... Right click Boom.

Great tips above!

One thing that I do more for the team than myself in conquest is use my shockwave as a Scientist on contested power nodes. I will fly in, even if there is 2-3 baddies and shockwave with the energy wave boost ability and knock them all off the node. They have to restart the capture process again even if I die which I usually do against those odds. Sometimes I can get some kills if I arrive during a battle as well.

One time a team got wise to this and would shockwave me as I flew in so I started to have to be more sneaky about my approach.

I was wondering as a Scientist player if most pick up updgrade weapons from dropped deaths? Like Fusion cannons, etc. I use to ignore them but now I have been picking them up so I have a better chance in firefights.

OK so with a few more hours of gameplay goin on I have found some GRUESOME soldier setups... My personal fav (i only use the Soldier on Conquest) is to get + dmg while hovering +WW movement speed and obviously hover + ww for my powerups... if u hit both specials at the same time you'll actually hover on the ground and not in the air... and u can WW 1 shot a leader... I did it for about 2 hours last night =)

I've also been toying with the notion that certain classes work best on certain maps... its not 100% play style as i stated before. There's one map in specific that i have an extremely hard time going over a 1:1 KDR as a scout but can usually seem to pull 3:1 as a scientist. Which is totally opposite of my usual kdr performance per class.

PS. I use that Scientist Shockwave setup to stall for captures too. The only prob is that if you shockwave em all out u cant siphon to survive after =) (and a repair sentry wont even start charging u back up till ur already dead and watching) Kamikaze mode like that only helps if ur teams good enough to realize you're buying them time and its worth them actually running over there.

I was wondering as a Scientist player if most pick up updgrade weapons from dropped deaths? Like Fusion cannons, etc. I use to ignore them but now I have been picking them up so I have a better chance in firefights.


I tend to stick w/ my repair ray since i play the class as a stall/cooldown bot sometimes a friendly will block ur los so ur bullets would be wasted but that dmg time = heal time instead... i think its more of a win. If i can find a Scattergun i'll swap out my rifle. but thats my scout love kicking in.

HELP Post!

Is there a way to invert the flight of the MegaMissile the soldiers after 7 straight kills? All my settings are set to invert y-axis and that missile goes straight to the ground when i shoot it =(
