We've already seen two of MMC's Preds and they are both better, so it's a safe bet their Headstrong will be better as well. MMC's first release is cheaper atm and even if they were the same price it would still be a better deal because of the size difference.

I forgot we saw MMC's Tantrum, thanks for the reminder. And yes, MMC is a better value because right now their larger Divebomb is cheaper, and even at the same price, it's more toy for the same money. I'm definitely in the MMC camp but still curious to see how the final product turns out here. I looked at all the pics posted and I'm eager to see how it differentiates itself from the custom it resembles.

It will be nice to see how it turns out. I think what we've seen here so far is kinda plain as far as the individual bots are concerned (crap was probably too strong a word), but War Lord is looking like he might be reasonably good if it wasn't for those really bad shoulders and wrist spikes

Taking away everything else I mentioned before, these two issues make War Lord just another case of "close but not quite".

I don't hate these as far as their individual bot modes go.

I kind of like the blocky look to 'em.

Its the combined mode that really misses the mark.

I still prefer what we've seen from MMC overall, sorry guys.

Yeah, me to. Almost. This fandom has never really taken prisoners. It sucks that in the case of third parties that can mean the difference between staying in business and going under.

Unique Toys should've tried something a little smaller scale or more obscure as their first project. Even if MMC weren't also working on the Predacons, I don't think I'd have gone for this set. Headstrong's face doesn't even look that angry.

Yeah headstrongs robot head is very generic looking to me that face/head would be your average joe on cybertron were as mmc tantrums robot head is just full of character that snarl he's got is mint.

We have an interesting turn of events. Unique Toy's War Hawk is $60 at Chimungmung! I don't know if it was always $60 or if that's a mistake (or if BBTS' is a mistake), but if this is a permenant price drop it's definately a game changer.

It also ships out Feb 1st, apparently.

I'm still with MMC, though. I think I can afford to shell out for what I feel is the better combiner. Gotta say, though ... the price here makes this very tempting.

The only thing i like more about war hawk is his Sword i hope talon gets one.

That's a very good find, and a great price (even factoring in the shipping). If the rest of the figures stayed at this price point I believe more people would be on board. Still, it's hurting just start thinking about collecting MMC's version so maybe in a year when the dust settles I'll have to evaluate the pricing of the whole figure.

Yeah he has two half sized swords which look nice a was just thinking G1 and a new big sword with the 2 smaller ones would have been like the original toy only swopping blasters for swords.

That's a pretty cool box. It looks like, once you have all of them, you can display them side by side to make a full picture of Predaking.

But I'm still going with MMC.

I like the bot modes these guys are making, they are pleasantly geewunny.
But the combined mode just keeps me away.

URGENT: Unique Toys just informed us that they will lower the cost! Therefore Robotkingdom will reduce the price of UT-W01 to $59.9 Please allow us a later time to refund the difference of previous pre-order, should able to refund all preorders during this week.

BBTS still has it at full price, but I would expect a change this week. I wish that $60 was enough to get me to switch, but MMC's is just too beautiful at this time.

$60 is likely an Asian retailer price, I doubt North American retailers will get much lower than $74.99 because the extra shipping costs are accounted for. Just like the conversion for current Takara Generations Deluxes going for about $21 - 24 from an Asian retailer, but NA retailers sell them for about $35 - 37.

You can always buy from RK if the shipping rate would be better for you than ordering from NA.

Also, to answer your question - I believe the offered price was $94.99 ($5 discount of the suggested $99.99), but since I didn't preorder it I don't have any paper trail to follow. For me to open up to this line, the price needs to beat the pre-order prices of the MMC versions.

It's a shame that this is competing with MMC. Hopefully, we will have a good scenario where there is a split between people buying this and MMC, as was the case with Hercules and Giant. These guys definately deserve success of the back of this work, but unfortunately they have lost me to MMC.

that looks pretty nice. very gewunny and a good fit next to Hot Rod there. Won't be getting it, but like Banjo, I'd like to see these guys continue, as this project suggests potential for this company.

Wow that looks very basic and dinky (small) couldn't be having that my self .

These guys just chose the wrong combiner. I think they could make a decent Defensor. Or even Trailbreaker or Hoist. All of tghose guys are on my list and I think reletively simple designs would be a strength for these guys.

Theyre not bad, it's just MMC is better. They might sell better later on if they repaint them in a G2 or SG theme. A blue, purple and white repaint would make me consider owning 2 Predakings. I would put it on my G2 shelf but Im sure the SG fans would go crazy...
