Im working on sketches to design a classics blitzwing: but Im wondering how other people would take to these ideas based on the G1 version.
1. should I keep the tank turret on his back like in G1, have it mounted to one arm or as I want to do, hide the jet nose inside his forearm with the Tank barrel able to flip out at his wrist for a Shockwave style arm in robot mode. (when transformed into a plane the nose would flip out with the tank barrel folded as a undermounted cannon similar to BM obsidian).
The arms would make the middle of the plane (from nose to engine). The cannon arm would make up the nose of the plane and the other arm would make the back half of the plane (where the jet engine is located)with the wings unfolded out, they would be covering the Tank treads on the bottom of the plane.
2. The Tank Treads would be Blitzwings legs in robot mode and would have the main wings fold around his legs to hide most of the treads showing. Rear wings would work in a similar fashion to the classics seekers
3. cannons on his shoulders would be able to flip forward in robot mode and in both vehicle modes would show as machine guns
4. Tank mode would just be the shoulders with the machine guns squeezed together around the cannon arm and sitting on top of the Treads. His other arm would be inside or going up the very rear of the tank.
4. his sword would be Translucent Red plastic as a Fire style sword (animated Grimlock) and inserted into the barrel of the Tank to give a blast effect and in the rear of the Jet mode to represent fire coming out the engine.
5. I also want to keep his big bulky german look, ALOT of swivels and hinges are in place especially dealing with his arms, his chest would open up to hide his head in a similiar fashion to RID Landfill's torso section
any opinions or ideas?
