Sorry to be off-topic or perhaps not understanding of your intended meaning but refering to people dressing against gendernorms as "that" is pretty down right offensive.

Why so sensitive?
Without passing judgement, if your goal is to confuse people about your gender and you accomplish your mission, it's hard to get offended if they use "that" or "it" since the English language doesn't have gender neutral pronouns for single persons.
I suppose you could just go around calling them a "person", but since the language...
oh wait...I don't care. Undergrad sociology class is over. I got a A. I don't care.
Especially since most people who are or chose to be gender neutral/swapped/both have an individualistic way they want to be described anyway.

I don't mean to seem sensitive, that was not my intent. Often people who dress in a manner often associated with the opposite sex are not doing so to "confuse people" (but also some could be) There are definitely issues with English having no gender-neutral pronouns for sure, we need to get on making one I think as IT and THAT are used for inanimate objects. It was probably not meant in any derogatory way, I'm sure it was all in good fun and I see their point, but I also think it's important for people to pay close attention to how they say things in an environment like an Internet forum where meaning is not always clear due to the absence of vocal or visual cues.(something I need to work on as well it seems) A person who dresses in unusual clothing or a transgendered ect. person might feel unwelcome here if they interpreted such a thing in a negative light.
Sorry to cause any trouble. I can delete the post if it's an issue.

It's okay to not like something, think something is odd or criticize something you don't like but when adults act like 2yo kids and start up with the "YOU'RE DUMB FOR SAYING/THINKING/LIKING _______!!! THIS IS WRONG/GROSS/STUPID!!!!!" That's a bit crazy.

The old saying is people fear what they do not understand. Others who are not fans of transformers think we are robot loving freaks because they don't think a robot that transforms into a tape player or a gun is cool. I'll never understand humanities view on people and the judgment placed upon others like that because I believe it is pointless. People are people, either be big or small their still a person and have feelings like everyone else. Some..need a bit more attention then others but we are all equal, and if we aren't then we should be. Maybe if people started looking at whats the same instead of whats different well..maybe we'd be in a different place. x3 Weirdness..its in the eye of the beholder. XDMykltron wrote:I'm not generally considered normal by the majority. I'm not a nerd or a geek, I'm a metal-head so most people think I look scary or freaky.
Things that make me seem abnormal:
I'm over 30 and not fat. I am in fact muscular and very lean. I'm fit and exercise regularly but don't wear my shirt collars up. I don't even have shirts with collars!
I'm almost teetotal and eat healthily. These are all very strange things in the UK were getting pissed nightly and eating burgers and kebabs are the norm.
I have long glossy golden hair, wear black, often wear leather and yet I'm a Classical guitarist (you can see a short vid of me here). Even my playing is described as 'unusual'.
I have what most people would consider a huge collection of toys.
I have an unusual job: I teach guitar.
I cycle everywhere instead of driving.
I have a pet rat.
Slightly more normal things:
I interact with people socially and do it fairly well although admittedly I often feel out of place wherever I am.
I am a good dancer of salsa and bachata.
I have a pet rabbit.
So I don't fit in with the stereotypical image of rocker, Classical musician, fitness freak or toy fanatic.

Well, if Zombie Starscream's weird...then I must be a freak.
I don't collect TF's (or any toy, for that matter) or any sort of comics; it's just not my thing. And I don't play video games anymore (though I will play something on the GameCube every now and then).
I wouldn't call myself a geek or a nerd either. Although I do have a weakness for fan fiction (Transformers, Invader Zim, Super Smash Brothers, Star Fox, Resident Evil. I tell ya now, games offer massive story potential!)...Zombie Starscream wrote:I don't watch TV (It's boring, and there is often more trash then treasure on it)
Alright! I'm not the only one!
I'm pretty much like you. I literally dislike every single TV series, reality show, etc. that makes it way onto the idiot box. Seriously, I don't like any show.
Plus I find TV a major time-sucker. There ARE a very few shows that I might watch, but it is limited to seeing a few episodes only, and not an actual interest in that show.Plaything wrote:Zombie Starscream wrote:I don't watch TV (It's boring, and there is often more trash then treasure on it)

We walk amung you in plain sight. XDDorca wrote:I was a Trekkie for years before I was a Transfan. Now I'm both. That's a pretty heavy dose of geek right there. Of course, the fact that I'm a 19-year-old girl means that my geekiness is usually overlooked or forgiven.
That also means that I missed Transformers as a kid, and didn't get into the fandom until recently... so it's hard to find other Transfans my age... so I rarely get the chance to express my geekiness.
So, yeah, as a Trekkie, I know all about crazy fandoms. And crazy, elitist fans. I've been told I wasn't a "real" Trekkie because I watched and enjoyed more than just The Original Series. Then I was told I wasn't a "real" Trekkie because I called it "The Original Series" instead of "Classic Trek." Trekkies have GEEWUNs too!
