Wow. Really? Sear? Interesting. I recieved my copy today from a local Korean-owned game shop in my neighborhood $60 flat, no tax. I am the envy of a few friends, but I'm mostly happy just to play the game with my anticipation sated. The game really is FUN!

If it's street dated, Sears will be facing some hefty fines (I had heard it was between 5k and 15k a copy sold). If not, damn you lucky bastards.

You may have to pay extra for them in the near future, but you just have to believe that all of these "exclusive" preorder characters will eventually be released as dlc. So some people get certain characters early, but money is money. I just can't see Activision passing up the chance to earn a few extra bucks.

If you're good buddies with a Gamestop employee, sometimes they just pass out the codes regardless if you've preordered it or not. It doesn't work all of the time, but its worth a shot. It might all depend on if the codes are actually packed in with the game though.

:CON: yeah they dont have the code in the box u gwt the code emailed to u within ten business days. and if any one gets a code post it ill post my code for demolisher when iget it :CON:

5 to 15k per game sounds like a bit much. I bet they don't even get fined it being Sears. Maybe if they were selling buttloads of Modern Warefare 2 when it came out. Also the leak 2 weaks prior of modern warefare 2 was a burn copy that went around. I had quite a few buddies get banned. haha. serves em right playing burned stuff. i'm sure the official MW2 leaked a few days early though...but those boxes always have a huge sticker on it that says DO NOT SELL UNTIL XX/XX. Unlike this game.

I have a feeling they will just reset the ranks, the day it is supposed to be released. I will say for my other TF buddies, this game is alot of fun. The way the leveling and class selection layouts are is very similar to MW2. One thing that is NOT like MW2, is shooting "from the hip" is actually effective, but most weapons do allow you to "scope in." I am a little upset to report the game only supports up to 720p. The character creation is limited at first, but you earn more chassis, weapons and perks as you go. I am a "hardcore gamer" if you will, I play Counter-Strike atleast two hours a night, atleast. But this will def be stealing from that time! Love it.

This seems to be a widespread but still isolated occurrence. I'm in the ATL area and no Sears is doing this here. :( It seems that the Sears that ARE selling the game just don't care about the $10,000 fine. Anyhow, it seems to be the store's personal preference; as some Sears are and some aren't.

Does anyone else have anymore info on which Sears or areas are offering the game and which aren't?

Thanks everyone who posted this news! I went out yesterday afternoon and purchased my copy at Sears.

I played through the first level as Megatron in Chapter 1 of the Decepticon campaign and the game is actually really good!
It just feels Generation 1 - War Within authentic... Soundwave contacting you throughout the levels as your central info hub is a nice touch to the campaign. I started playing through Level 2 before I went to bed and the gameplay mechanics playing with Starscream is much different than playing with Megatron but both are extremely fun to take control of... It is too early to say how great this game is, but it is definately the best Transformers game I have played... and I actually loved the Armada game. It just feels like you are at War... I think that is what has been missing from the other TF games...

FYI - You can skip ahead and play Chapter 6 as the Autobots, but I just decided to go in Chapter order...

^ I was wondering about this too. Especially in regards to Sears, because I do see it advertised in the K-Mart ad, but didn't see it in the Sears ad.

I'll be close enough to a Sears on my lunch break, but not a K-Mart until after I get out of work. I really want the comic (not much of a gamer, so the exclusive multiplayer characters don't interest me that much.)

When has there EVER been ANY pre-order dlc available for purchase later on? Either you pre-order and get the dlc, or you never will.

I did too, but, I learned from my last pre-order experience with Gamestop to not pay for it in advance. I ordered Marvel Ultimate alliance from them and they got theirs 3 days late!

I still may go pick it up, get the code, and then return it. heheheh
:KREMZEEK:
Either way, I am certain that all pre-order exclusives will be avail as DLC eventually anyway.

I knew nothing about the comic, but if Sears does have it, I will be taking my receipt back and getting it.

For anyone that has is early and is home today, hit me up "WiiDevi7" on Ps3.

Edit: Played today and there is already a V1.01 lol

Pft. There has been pre-order DLC in almost EVERY game available for purchase later on.

Like they would create content that they don't intend to sell... right.

Don't believe me? Reference SSF4, Little Big Planet, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Etc Etc Etc.

Yep, I just saw this recently with Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, the GameStop exclusive DLC is not available for purchase. There was just a waiting period before they put it up to buy.

Anyway, I went to Sears on my lunchbreak today and saw they had the game out already too, and I was going to buy it if they had the comic, but when I asked, they looked at me like they had no idea what I was talking about, and said probably tomorrow, but I think that was more for me to just come into the store again.

I went to KMart at 8am just so I could secure one of these comics. Im a huge Transformer comic collector, and there is really no book that I dont own.....anyway, as I figured the games were not yet out on display. when the cashier opened the box, it had a handfull of ps3/360/ds games in it. And at the bottom were the comics, id say about 20 total, I grabbed a nice one for myself, never even letting the cashier touch it. So if you collect as I do, id get there ASAP to get a copy
