Don't get me wrong, I respect their efforts to prepare for the worst, but to have it dominate your life? I can't bare to watch it.
And I seriously do not believe the world is going to end on such and such date. All just a very effective excuse to manipulate the folk for further one's own end. Ask me again in 5 billion years, give or take, when the Earth will plummet into the swollen dying Sun.
