Just because they are a group of five doesn't mean that they need to form a larger robot. The Dinobots are some of the most individualistic characters in the TF universe. They are awesome because they don't have to follow the 'sum of the parts...' troupe that all Japanese robot stories seem to follow.

I'm very 'Anti-Dinobot Combiner'. I'd start a political party around this if I could.

Ditto, the Dinos should never combine. To be honest, outside of Devestator, I could care less about combiners. I like what TFU has done so far with Silerbolt and Onslaught in removing the combination gimmick and just making awesome new figures.

could care less

*twitch*

It's "couldn't care less". If you could care less, that means you do care.

Anyway, I reckon it would be cool if they could reissue the Dinobots. It would require reverse engineering the molds from the toys though. Also they'd have to make some modification to Swoop so he didn't break all the damn time.

As for the Dinobots combining, I'd love to see an official Dinobot combiner- call him "Extinctor". I don't think you could remold the G1 figures to do it though.

I really ought to read The Beast Within just to see what all the fuss is about. From the single picture of him on TFWiki, The Beast looks pretty badass.

We actually have two already:

Energon Mega-Dinobot (originally conceived for Universe, as G1 Grimlock and Swoop)

PCC Grimstone (released as a G1 Dinobot by TakaraTomy)

While being on the subject, I bought a G1 Grimlock "reisue". Is it a KO, or not?

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/151387684125?ssP ... 1497.l2649

Sure, it's kinda too late but if the original mold does not exist anymore...
If it's a KO, let's hope it's almost as an exact clone of the original.

ALL G1 Dinobot "reissues" in vintage boxes are fake. The only time the Dinobots were properly reissued was in Europe, 1991. They featured the golden "Classic" boxes of that era, and only 3 were released: Grimlock, Sludge and Snarl.
The second time was in G2, this time with Slag instead of Sludge. First in grey, then in other colors, but they all had the " :G2BOT: Autobot" somewhere on the figure.

Dinobot Bommader? that's a dead giveaway.

Let's hope that quality match the original then.

It's a KO. Depends on the company for the QC (it's chrome is tops but the guns won't fit the fists properly) but his chest won't lock properly to the two pegs on his sides.

Not quite. The Dinobots, along with many others saw an official Chinese Reissue in the '90's.
Here's a list of from highendtfs.com. The copyright stamping on the toys and packaging were slightly altered to reflect this, along with the addition of a small black sticker on the outer boxes and cards.

1984, 1985, and 1986 toys reissued in China out of order from 1989 - 1992 (AKA Series 1, 2, and 3)

Optimus Prime
Autobot cars: Hound, Jazz, Ironhide, Mirage, Smokescreen, Prowl, Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, Inferno, Tracks
Minibots: Bumblebee, Seaspray, Beachcomber, Hubcap
Dinobots: Grimlock, Snarl, Sludge
Megatron
Decepticon Jets: Starscream, Ramjet
Constructicons: All of them (individually packaged; not as a giftset)
Soundwave/Buzzsaw
Rumble/Ravage
Cyclonus
Triple-changers: Astrotrain, Springer, Broadside, and Blitzwing
(Octane and Sandstorm were also available, but only in gold box European Classics packaging)
Aerialbots: All of them (individually packaged; not as a giftset)
Stunticons: All of them (individually packaged; not as a giftset)
Protectobots: All of them (individually packaged; not as a giftset)
1987 toys reissued in China in 1993 (AKA Series 4)

Ratbat/Frenzy
Autobot Headmasters: All four of them
Decepticon Headmasters: All three of them
Horrorcons: Both of them
Scorponok
Fortress Maximus
Targetmasters: Pointblank, Sureshot, Crosshairs
Punch/Counterpunch
Pounce/Wingspan
Fastlane/Cloudraker
Sixshot
1988 toys reissued in China in 1994 (AKA Series 5)
Autobot Powermaster Cars: All three of them (but not Powermaster Optimus Prime)
Decepticon Powermaster Jets: Both of them
Autobot Small Headmasters: All three of them
Autobot Decepticon Headmasters: Fangry, Squeezeplay
Triggerbots: All three of them
Triggercons: All three of them
Squawktalk/Beastbox
Grand Slam/Raindance
Rewind/Steeljaw
Eject/Ramhorn
1989 Japanese Transformers Victory toys reissued in China in 1995
Multiforce: All three two packs (no giftset)
Brainmaster: All three Roadcaesar cars individually (but not Star Saber)
Breastforce: All six Liokaiser components, including Leozack. (Deszarus was not produced.)
(Note: There are conflicting reports about Leozack. I've seen photographic evidence of his existence, but first-hand accounts suggest he was basically impossible to find. Perhaps the mold broke mid-way through production, causing only a small number to be released.)

However, I'm pretty sure it's not wrtiten "Dinobot Bommander" on Grimlock's box.

BTW, Turn out my KO was of a surprising good quality, transforming perfectly and being without flaws. I don't know how to compare it to the original G1 because I never had it. Still, that KO fill the bill nicely.

Almost all the KOs I've seen say 'Bommander' instead of Commander.
