In all my years there are only a few ive come across that i feel are damn near perfect.
Mp5 is still to me the pinnacle of the masterpiece line and transformers as a whole with an incredible transformation imposing size
Human alliance jazz and rotf leader prime are probably some of the only movie figures ill likely never part with. If the movie lines had there own versions of mp's these two would rank near the top.
Movie terradive or as i like to call him "hooligan" is another although smaller figure that brilliantly incorporates the wings in a very interesting non back pack way.
There are probably more i cant think of but thats it for now.

Also, I find it very interesting how the very first post asks us not to Bash animated or the Unicron Trilogy when I believe those series have the very best designs out there. Speaking of which, here is one I find has such an interesting robot mode: Cybertron Sideways (noisemaker)

Now that is an amazing robot design

I have him and I confirm that he's quite awesome. Not as good as HFTD Terradive, but it's one great deluxe nonetheless.

I recently bought Generations deluxe Tankor and Rattrap. While Tankor is a piece of caca, Rattrap amazed me. I thought I would have trouble transforming him without instructions, but it went easy and the transformation was very intuitive. Not only the bot mode is perfectly show accurate, but the rat is a beauty as well. Minimum robo junk under it, perfect weapon storage, that neck panel, that bending tail... Everything about this figure is amazing. Well worth the full price.

I think IDW Generations Springer is designed very well. His robot mode looks like he jumped off the comic book page from Last Stand of the Wreckers, which is sweet, plus his vehicle and helicopter modes are great. Transforming him between all three modes is fluid and solid, fun too. For a Transformer to be that good in all 3 modes and look comic accurate, they done an awesome job designing him. Also his rotor blades turn into a cool sword.

It's Interesting that there is not a lot of Beast Wars mentioned in this thread. I know they can be kibbly fidlie-farts, but I think some of the best design innovations came from this line, and those innovations are still used today.

Dinobot, Transmetal Rattrap, Longrack, etc.
Some of the best Scout class toys ever. Simple, clean, fun.

Glad to see so much love for UT though. I thought these lines were folks least favs.
Cybertron Leader Prime is one of my favorite toys ever. So solid. Like a Tonka truck. You'd be hard pressed to break that guy. This line reinvigorated my collecting after being disappointed in Armada. He left me scrambling to catch up on the whole line. The bulk of my Cybertron stuff is made up of Universe and Repaints. In fact my Prime is the Galaxy Force repaint. Ha!

This is a great thread, because you might learn something new you would have never considered before.
Now I'll have to go hunt down a PRID Vehicon. ;)

I traded my MP-03 in G1 colors for MP-11. MP-11 is nice, but not 200$ nice.

As a Screamers fan, I'd like to get the ORIGINAL Japanese MP-03, GreenScream for my Starscream collection. Unfortunately, it's now horribly expensive.

I find generations Tankor pretty fun. He has great paint apps and is super show accurate except for his size.

Well, being "perfectly show accurate" does not excuse a bad TF from being bad. I mean, the vehicle is just Tankor playing "roadkill", or in québécois, "Il fait l'écrapoux". The the bot mode is weird and very, very short.

Still, he does have a place in my collection. In my interdimentional Cyberverse War.

BTW, just use the DcgZm634gW8 part between the YOUTUBE brackets:

But if you will check the video you will see that this is how he transforms. His bot mode and alt mode are made of the very same parts and he just rises up from it. I was not just talking about the show accuracy of his deco, I was also referring to his transformation. His size can be an issue (but we can also say that about the deluxe sized first edition Prime Optimus and Megatron figures) but that aside, he is a perfect rendition of the character as seen on the show, like a mini tankor masterpiece. I encourage you to read the review. http://www.bwtf.com/toyreviews/generations/tankor

I personally love the robot mode on Generations voyager Whirl. Love the asymmetry on the head sculpt and his proportions overall. Plus it's fun to place his guns in every which way you can think of. : )

Cybertron/Galaxy Force is one of the all time best lines. Interesting designs both cosmetically (due to the cybertronian nature) and structurally. It is also the last line designed by Takara to have a mass release in the states, and the last line to have the toy made before the animation model (though that is coming back slowly). What I love about the line is how there is so much alt mode integration to the point where all the robot parts actually make up the alt mode sometimes, like Landmine and Crumplezone. And this too had and amazing scout class and legends class where the transformation of the mega and leader figures were actually reflected upon in a legends class (Evac, Optimus, Jetstorm and the seekers have the same transformation).

Here is a run down of the 10 best transformers of the 00' decade and you can see how manyfrom this series are in there

Oh and the Energon series also had a great scout class with weapons everyone with 5 mm ports can hold.

Agreed on the Energon omnibots and Terrorcons. In fact Divebomb from that subset is one of my all time favs. I'm looking forward to getting him out of storage once the move is complete.

You guys are both right. The Energon scouts are great. I used to do a lot of international travel, and I had a little box that I would pack those guys in and take them with me. At the end of the day I would get them out and, as Kanrabat likes to say, go PEW PEW PEW all over my hotel room. It was nice to take a little piece of home with me. They even went to Canada and the UK with me.
Best Arcee to date. She comes with a BOW! love it.

The UT lines struck a big chord with me because of their 5mm pegs and ports. I could finally integrate Microman in with my Transformers again. Just like the old days.

Good luck on your move ZeroWolf. That's never fun.

I don't know if you bought any, but I would recommend some Cyberverse toys to you. Both DOTM and Prime. Many legions are nice, and most commanders are just AMAZING. Especially for Prime. They are small, compact, and portable fun that are show accurate and incredibly well designed.

Agreed, and here is my Prime cyberverse collection to prove it. My favourite would be hardshell, Ultra Magnus and Megatron. However, none of them beat Energon Divebomb. That is an amazing scout figure with a very simple yet inventive transformation (wings to legs is ingenious).

Are those yours? If so, congrats, you got the good stuff! Especially Hardshell (although when it comes to Prime Ultra Magnus commander figure, the Beast Hunters version is more show accurate and the correct alt mode, I highly recommend it).

To post a link you right click on the title of a post and copy the adress link. Then you paste it in a post and surround it with . Like this link to my personal collection http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/william-james-88-s-collection-t101930.php#p1610273

Oh and as for Windcharger, it was RTS and I dont have him. But I do have Breacher who I really recomend (and was mentioned on this thread earlier). Along with Skystalker, those are the best scout class molds to come from the movie lines.

Hell yeah! One thing the Cyberverse line is good for, is to make large scale battles. However, I have a rule. Make it as much in scale as possible. Meaning no legends truck/tanks, no Scout/Commander cars. Planes should be scout/commanders at minimum. Bigger planes and tanks, deluxes. Some giant characters are included like YOTS Omega Supreme and Armada Tidalwave. Possibly Classic Voyager Jetfire as well. Finally, I cross universes and put multiples of the same characters, as long that the universes differ.

One thing I need is some background and scenery props to make it perfect.

Regardless, I do love many small TFs just because they are a tons of fun to play with.

Motto: "My past no longer binds my future..."
Weapon: Battle Blades
I would love to do something like that means, just lacknowledge time and space. Plus I would need another giant to go against Energon Omega Supreme. Though having a Terrorcon cyberverse army (comprised of every repaint I can find of the beast hunters terrorcon team) crawling all over him with Predaking looking on. Scale wise I could use cyberverse commander Predaking again.

Thanks Cobotron :) Only have a few tfs out at the moment, the rest are packed away, my shelves are depressingly empty.

Motto: "Free your mind, and your ass will follow!"

One thing I need is some background and scenery props to make it perfect.

Regardless, I do love many small TFs just because they are a tons of fun to play with.

Glad you saw this.

I gave upon scale a long time ago, but I bet its just fun to figure out who works.

When it comes to epic battles and adventure, I always go straight to this shelf.
Transforming is fun in it's own way, but it can really interrupt play. It can be like sitting through a commercial break while watching your favorite show. With little guys you can just go, chi chi chi, and be on with it. Let the battle rage on!!!!!!! :BOOM:
