Now that is said, allow me to nominate G1 Jetfire. Truly a figure that is ahead of it's time. The transformation is fairly complicated, it's not a brick with numerous articulation points, and the removable armor give a nice option. It also feel very solid. When playing with G1 Jetfire, it don't feel like a G1 toy at all. It feel like a modern Masterpiece, pre-MP10 era!
Generations Leader Jetfire try his best to fill his daddy's shoes, but he'll never come close. For that, I'd have to buy a very expensive modern Maccross Veritech!

StarfireDelta wrote:Honestly, the Transformer toy I think I'm most impressed with is RtS Special Ops Jazz. He's instantly recognisable as Jazz in either mode. He's beautifully sculpted, with excellent attention to detail in both modes. He has a weapon that can be hidden away inside his vehicle mode, so you don't lose it or have to bolt it onto his side or his roof, which usually looks silly to me. He's got amazing articulation in robot mode. And he has a really simple, but clever transformation that is an utter joy to go through, because everything just neatly slots into place, and both his modes look cool. I also really dig the deployable speakers in his car windows, which he can use in both robot and vehicle modes, because it's a lovely callback to his special ability from the classic cartoon and his original toy profile.
This guy has pride of place in my living room display as Classics Optimus Prime's right-hand-man, where he belongs. He is arguably the best Transformer I own, if not my favourite.*
*My favourite is actually Generations Arcee, if for no other reason than having waited my whole life for a toy representation of G1 Arcee. As the only female Transformer I knew for a long time, she was an inspiration to me as a child, and I can never have too many fembots. Basically, if there's a fembot on the market these days, I want her in my collection. (I'm looking at you Legends Sliptsream and Blackarachnia.) But Generations Arcee is, honestly, an excellent figure. If you could store her weapons inside or underneath her -- somewhere hidden -- in vehicle mode rather than having to bolt them onto her, she'd be perfect. To me at least.

Is that the movie mold?

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

As far as mass release figures, I can agree on Landmine - I have the Hasbro version, but he's amazing, I got him as a birthday gift from my brother and sister years ago. My personal favorites are Gen Springer (I think everyone knows why on that one), Prime RiD Vehicon for the incredible streamlined simplicity combined with effective aesthetic in both modes, and Prime RiD Dead End,who I can't put down because I just love its poseability, head sculpt, interesting transformation (the legs are amazing!) and he's just overall just fun to mess with.

Still loving my Prime RiD Dead End

I took Y'allz advice. I'll get both. I grabbed Sunstorm first.
I called TRU to see if they had a sale on. No dice. So I went about my day. as I was straightening up my drawing table I found a TRU coupon for 20% off any one item. That reminded me to check my R US rewards. Blamo $10 free moneys. So I ran out and scooped him up for $56 and some change.
So...
All the fixes are great! The feet work really nice and he CAN freakin' stand up. I like that the samari kama rear stabilizer kibble is fixed in a nice little package that is his leg. The new null rays are nice, and the chest slidy thing is weird but it does the job. I like his flame job. It's subtle but really cool. I dig the coper head and bits. it's a neat change.
Perhaps this mold is getting tired though. He feels kinda janky and cheepo. I would expect more from an MP. Some of the paint is flaking of the die cast parts. That rear stabilizer will not stay on,and his fingers keep falling off. Also, in bot mode his wings keep falling back. Am I missing something? Are they supposed to peg into his back?
You know what's hilarious? The picture on the box is a MP03 with this paint job.
All in all he is pretty cool. He can stay.
Do I wish I hadn't let Thundercracker slip through my fingers? Yes.
what saves him is, IMO, I don't have any other Sunstorms, and he's just soooo dang yellow.
Oh and the fact that he cost about $30 less than MSRP.
Verdict: If I had to choose between the two seeker molds. I would choose MP03. He can't stand up, but he looks cool flying around on his stand. He's heftier and meaner looking in bot mode, and far superior in jet.
Math:
MP03 Skywarp $20 on clearance + MP11 Sunstorm $56 w/ coups and points = no sweat off my back

skywarp-2 wrote:You are so lucky! you got the MP-11SW Skywarp!! I wanted to get him but find his price point to be way too high, just like Thundercracker.. while right now you can get the Hasbro TRU exclusive Starscream for well under 100.00.

This is oh so correct. Both are ridiculously fun and clever in their own ways
