This is entirely subjective so please don't make fun or insult other people's opinions, even if they are wrong or stupid! :P

What is your favourite third party product, and why?

It's a tough choice, but it's either Maketoys Giant or Fansproject Insecticons for me.

Right now it's the Insecticons or the Reflector set. I like the unified set of them and that they put a slightly different spin on old favourites.

Currently Steelcore is EASILY my favorite. The bot-mode is incredibly sturdy, super-poseable and tons of fun. The transformation is nice & solid, unlike a lot of third-party products where it feels you might break something while tinkering with it. Really... he's just the perfect "transforming robot" in my opinion. There's even more surprises to come for him as well!

Hopefully by the end of next week Giant will be my new favorite.

Warbot Defender is one of my least-favorites. The knee joints went to hell (grinding down to the bone) within 10 minutes of play and the feet are so poorly designed that this dude can't even stand without support. Being able to solidly stand is close to my #1 want from any bot and he fails more than anything else I own. Too bad, he could've been great.

I love my City Commander for sure as I'm sure most people do (still own 4 of them I think, plus the Powered & Shadow). He looks great on my shelf. However, he's a bit of a brick & there's very little you can do with him as far as posing. He was great for his time... but primitive compared to what we've been seeing lately.

It's difficult for me to pick a favorite, but I appreciate all the types of offerings: from simple headswaps and weapons, to full-on new molds (and gestalts). My collection has gotten to look amazing by incorporating the right pieces here and there.

However, I can say that the conehead trio from iGear (go Wheeljack!) helped fill out a wonderful masterpiece shelf.

My fav has got to be FP's Bruticus add-on set (Munitioner and Explorer). It turns an extremely mediocre Has/Tak combiner into a supremely awesome behemoth.

2nd place is a tie between Hercules and DIA Commander. I love Herc, but I have a soft spot for DIA Commander since it reminds me of Powermaster Optimus Prime (one of my favorite toys as a kid).

Never had a problem with Warbot's knees. I transformed him several times too. Wierd. I wonder if that's a common problem.

There's so many awsome ones to choose from. Right now ... City Commander's still my favorite, I think. I'm still slowly building him up. Just got the God Sword (sadly the one meant for Prime) for him and it looks great on him. Now I wonder if I ought to buy a KO just for the head to use Dr. Wu's upgrade (I have the original and I don't really want to damage it to insert Wu's new face). And I recently found a place Rumble and Frenzy can go with the Ultimate Form set so I may get them ... or not. They're cons, so it never felt right.

But Herc also consistantly draws my eye (and how can he not?) He's fantastic to look at. Massive and massively impressive, just as Devestator ought to be. He's the toy I wanted after seeing the G1 toon.

Least favorite? Impossible Toy's Nightbird exclucive (made from Valkerie). Got her for a massive discount from BBTS, so I wasn't burned or anything, but ... it's definately one of the lowest quality 3rd party products I have. The wheel immediately fell off when I got it out of the package (glued the pin in to prevent that from happening) and it suffers from all the problems Val had.

So many... top of the list is probably the G3 trailer from FP.

I imagine when I eventually get him in hand that it will be Giant. Until then, it has to be Perfect Effect's Reflector homage for me. The plethora of weapons all integrate perfectly into the alt mode. The individual robots have incredible articulation for their size, and I love the fact that they are tiny but armed to the teeth.

True, he is a bit floppy. On mine it's the shoulders that are the problem but they're fixable. Slide a very thin piece of flat plastic sheet into the knee joint. Or card.

His feet are fine for crazy poses, he just can't stand to attention.

So true.

Hands down it has to be Herc!

I finally have the Devastator I wanted as a kid.

I really enjoyed the entire experience of getting him.
The anticipation of each piece coming out, and when they did, assembling them for the first time.

That 6 months was the best 6 months of collecting for me in a long time.
While I buy the Hasbro stuff, it is often weeks (sometimes months) before I bother opening them, and carving out a spot on the shelf for display.

Not so with Herc.
Each piece was put up immediately in bot mode for a while before the next piece came out. I'd switch the display to some form of combined mode for a few weeks, then back to individuals. It was fun.

I've even enjoyed many of the 4th party add-ons for him.
I bought the Rage set (though I don't have it in at the moment), and I have the purple barrel in my PoL.

I'm even considering some of the Shape-ways add-ons.

The whole thing has just made him an amazing figure with a lot of choices for display.

Herc has the power!

Steelcore - it really is Fansproject coming into their own with a near-perfect bot.

Warcry also gets props for being a better bot as a redo than the original Munitioner but as both are "merely" a leg-stump for the Mighty Bruticus I guess they kind of need the rest of the Hasbro combiner to achieve full greatness.

I love PE's Motobot more than I thought I would and I've cooled off on Hegemon as his Gun keeps flapping off and the plastic really does bug me with how cheap it looks each time I catch sight of him. Still the best Megatron in my collection though which says a bundle about how poorly he's been treated down the years by Hasblo.

City Commander started it all for me and I used to rave about it but totally agree with others on here about how brick-like he is, and that neck/face have always bugged me a bit.

I do love Yello Giant but I'm biting my last fingernail waiting on Greenie to turn up and as I know that's the one I wanted most and don't have him in hand yet (take a bow Kapow) I can't put him on top of the heap. Yet.

Igear's hench may be a contender if he's as good in quality terms as Rager and Spray (just too small) and PE's Rumble/Frenzy/Shadow worrior get honourable mentions as being just plain out-and-out fun.

the g3 trailer is the definitive classics trailer imo
and definitely build king (both combined and individual figures) is as beautiful as it gets.

MT Green Giant. NO. 1!!! For now................. But it will be here for a while since I ran out of money to pursue another 3rd party product in a short time.

FP Bruticus upgrade set is the second.

On Warbot Defender, I have no problem on mine. Well, here are actually couple. The tiny clip on the rotor blades (sword) broke in half when I tried to remove the "sword" from his back. I've glued it and put it back. It works fine now but I have to be extra careful when removing or inserting the rotor blades. The other one is the feet, but I think that's pretty much everybody's problem. I fixed this with a pair of artificial heels that I made from scratch.

My blade came packaged broken, in the same spot. Little super-glue did the trick...but man, I just had some over bad-luck with that release.

Unrelated perhaps... but I didn't want to make a new thread for it: Anyone know if Fansproject is still planning on what appears to be a Junkion? Did the CHUG Junkion kill this project?

Hegemon, followed by Sonicron followed by Ultra Magnus armor. Actually that's all the products I've bought...so far.
