Personally I love th RID generation since that's what I first watched (Sideburn=Hero)

But here's a file explaining how I see the Transformers Universe.

just because i feel like it i'm elaborating on my earlier post.

g1 cartoon and comic exist alongside each other. some TFs believe in Vector Sigma, some in Primus (evolution vs religion basically-explains the Grimlock vs Prowl thing in UK stuff a bit). cartoon up til season 2, then maybe the comic stuff? i'm sure if i had to i could explain the inconsistencies, but why bother, they're different interpretations of the same events or something.
there's stuff happens between s2 of the cartoon (and the end of the comic) and the movie. started to be explored by the DW comics, but Pat Lee screwed it all up. then TF:TM happened. the post-movie set comics then happen, and Rebirth and the Headmasters series with some amount of changes being applied to fit the US/UK continuity. Somehow Megatron returned and there was G2 and all that stuff. Japanese series are independent happenings on Earth while the rest of the TFs are on Cybertron or out in space. heck include season 3 of the cartoon in this at the same time. eventually, the unseen truce happens and peace returns to Cybertron. Autobots and Decepticons become Maximals and Predicons.
Beast Wars happens. This is where is gets crazy.
After the Beast Wars, Unicron plucks BW Megatron from the timestream, gives him new powers and abilities and makes him Armada Megatron/Galvatron who fights a reformatted Optimus Primal, now a semi-truck like Armada Optimus Prime. This may well be in an alternate universe from the G1 continuity, and the first true example of these characters crossing realities.
Basically BW Megatron is one of the few chosen by a multiverse-spanning Unicron to be one of his heralds, and with the power and influence offered, he accepts. Optimus Primal and crew are recruited by Vector Prime to help out. Others on Unicron's side include Darkscream (the Voyager sized Cybertron Starscream, who is the last survivor of his reality's Cybertron) and RID Megatron (a reformatted BW Megs) G1 Megatron is both the Classics Vs 2pack G2 Megatron tank and the Armada white and blue Megatron. The latter being an opponent to Unicron and the universe spanning Autobots' ally. On Primal's side is Vector Prime, the initial mentor for the timelost group, God Magnus, Optimus Pyre (or Inferno Prime) and the first Optimus Prime, now an ancient legendary hero known as Convoy, the leader of the Cross-time Council of Primes.
The battle rages throughout various timelines and alternate realities, as each side tries to recruit the strongest warriors from each, sometimes being turned down, sometimes being turned on. Betrayal is a constant when dealing with the god of chaos, and eventually Unicron gathers enough forces and strength himself to manifest in a place outside of space/time and attempt to destroy Primus' astral form. Vector Prime, Omega Prime and the rest face off with the heralds of Unicron and it is up to Optimus Primal to unite with his allies and unleash the power of the Matrix to defeat Unicron. Blah, blah, blah. Good guys win.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I prefer the comic timelines/realities to most of the animated series, with Beast Wars being a wonderful exception. I feel that the comics were more concerned with telling good stories than selling products. My TF Universe takes bits and pieces from the various comic book storylines and recognizes time/reality travel. My TF Universe ignores most of the animated series because they're usually just too damn silly. However, I do still watch the old G1 episodes now and then 'cause I grew up with them and there's no discounting the power of nostalgia.

I've never really tried to formulate a single cohesive timeline. But generally (certainly regarding G1) I tended to favour the comic continuities over the cartoons, and if anything contradicted the toy's bios, then both were disregarded in favour of that info.

I never really bothered much with the Quintessons, although if they are a pivotal part of the TFs' history, I like the version where they briefly enslaved the race.

The Unicron Trilogy never happened. Most of the characters I never felt anything for anyway, and since most of the figs were obvious homages to G1 characters, I just pegged them as further upgrades.

The closest I ever came to creating my own Universe was actually an attempt to rationalise the AEC figures, especially ones like the Energon Autobots, and the line, called Fusion, would actually feature several repaints and kitbashes that fit into the line. The storyline (such as it was) that I came up with for it was set a hundred or so years in our future.

G1 is definately the heart of all Transformers, and I could live happily without the Unicron Trilogy myself.
I like the Quintessons as opponents for all the Transformers, but I could never get onboard as them as the creators of the Autobots and Decepticons (according to the original animated series).
As to the specs, well, I guess there are aspects from the cartoon that will always be overwhelming, such as Jazz's voice.

The Quintessons are one of those things in the original transformers mythology that grew out of proportions. I don't think the quints were ment to be more than weird octopus robots in the movie. In season 3 the writers tried to use them to advance story but it didn't work too well IMO. It was the main problem with the comics: to many writers - no cohesion.

Tracks starts flying...
Flying Autobots...
Zombie Prime then Normal Prime...
TF creation...
Robots dying...
Robot evolution...
Till all are one?...

They should make a renewed G1 cartoon series with one coherent story and mytho.

Animated seems heavily inspired by the movie. I don't know how much it will relate to G1.

Yep that seems to be the mantra of the IDW-verse. I further speculate that Megatron's BFG arm cannon may be a bastardised version of the one the original Galvatron (who left with Nova Prime aboard the first ARK) has.
That being said here's my unverse - which probably a li'l more like TF universe(BotCon comic version) storyline. Galvatron falls first at the hands of a new enemy which upsets the TF status quo. Rodimus Prime dies next. The new threat turns out to be none other than Nova Prime and the Fallen (or whatever the name of those characters at the end of Escalation are) and their the heralds of Unicron. Their first to show how that they nothing to be scoffed at is to decimate the entire Decepticon, leaving only 20% remaining to tell the tale.
Next, a year later at a turning point - Rodimus Prime is killed in battle against Nova. The few remaining transformers - Autobots AND Decepticons - scattered both on Nebulos and Earth. Just all seems lost - hope arises from the ashes with the return of one their greatest soldiers ever, from self exile. Leading the reformed Wreckers most of the entire team from Stormbringer, and half of the remaining Decepticons, is none other than the return of - Ultra Magnus - as the tide of war turns from loosing to a fighting chance.
Why him - cause he's a bad without a friggin Matrix. See Rodimus Prime was indeed the "Protector" not the war leader - but I'd have Magnus return as the reluctant (even moreso than Rodimus was) leader.

mine is mostly eclectic G1. I borrow and add from different G1 Universes which I call Seeker Verse since it is Seeker oriented.

Seekers were created by "action master like" cybertronian robots before the war. Made for search and rescue purposes.

Skywarp, Thundercracker and Starscream are "cousins" Starscream being the youngest. Starscream was sparked before the war and was tremendously "poor"

Starscream was a scientist who's private life went to hell in a hand basket including the loss of his best friend and mentor, Skyfire.

Starscream joined the War effort as Megatron started to rise to power. He went to the War Academy and excelled.

He became friends with Megatron and they had a good working relationship.

Starscream was tortured by Shockwave after an incident and lost his trust in Megatron and their friendship started to disolve.

The tortures were some form of Study of the Seeker's nervous system and how it reacts to stimuli.

Shockwave found and took the "twin" spark of Sunstorm out of Starscream and put him into a shell to mature and as a result of some experements, Sunstorm went a bit loony.

Starscream became rather paranoid after getting involved with some very nasty cybertronian narcotic which almost ended his life. rehabilitation was partly successful.

Female Seekers and Decepticons Exist, but they were not always on the forces until much later.

Starscream became Second in command after defeating his predessaor.

Megatron destroyed Vos in an attempt to wipe Starscream out while he was on leave. Starscream had been out of Vos on an "errand"

Starscream is still a scientis, experementing with humans and anything else he finds interesting. He has a wide knowledge base of languages and knowledge of most different cultures.

The Animated Movie and Season three did not happen. But if I have to acknowlege them, Starscream survived his new body but became marroned on a world where he acted as a god to the locals.

Or something liket hat.

What is your TF Universe?

Postby Friend of Da Panda Symbol » Sun Sep 23, 2007 8:46 pm

Talking only in terms of Animated Transformers.
My favorite is of course the original G1.
My second favorite after that many will be astonished to believe is RID. Unlike other Anime versions, the humans in it didn't annoy me.

DW WWI --> G1 Comic + some Cartoon + just a little DW G1 --> Beast Wars --> Beast Machines

That's one cohesive universe for me. The IDW-verse is another, and it might even rival or beat out the first one, depending on how things pan out. The Unicron Trilogy is a third universe, just not as compelling, and in terms of plotline the movie is just plain silly. I'm hoping that Animated gives us a third continuity that's worth remembering.

I use Armada Thundercraker has Wrecker, since he was never featured in the comics, I say he´s was abudected by Unicron and then when rescued joined the Wrekcers as a replacement for Cyclonus.

Does anyone ever think about a cohesive HISTORY for Cybertron? I know there's lots of variation for Prime(s), Megatron(s), Unicron(s), and so on, but I'd like to see a standard pre-War history for Cybertron settled on. Specifically, I'd like to get some agreement on social structure, politics, hierarchy, and such. For me, I like the idea of a rather large (at least the same diameter as Earth) Cybertron, seperated into City-States, which are ruled by various councils (Ancients, Elders, whatever), and united by a planet-governing senate. I guess the Autobots would just be a politcal faction in my vision of a cohesive history, with tendancies towards peace-keeping actions. Any thoughts?

Shall i attempt to answer Novacron's question :-?

Image

TF- Two warring techno deities, one good the other evil, battle each other until they find themselves trapped in a planet sized asteroid. One takes along time transforming there prison into a new body, while the other creates 13 life forms to protect reshape and maintain there own. These 13 form a council, and create “the children of Primus” through a means called budding. Through means of betrayal, a number of the 13, along with the children of Primus was lost. A small faction departed the planet which was there sleeping creator. Primus directly interacted for the last time so that the remaining of the original 13 went into hiding while the means of budding became forgotten. Other methods of creation remained: connecting to the Allspark. The means available were the Matrix, the Matrix flame, and the planet’s super computer: Vector Sigma. AlphaTrion was the first to be made using the computer. While rebuilding the planet, Quintessons moved to enslave the remaining, weakened inhabitants seizing control of Vector Sigma. These remaining TFs were divided into two subgroups of weapons and industrial designs. After vorns of servitude the TFs revolt and win there freedom. The new factions form a government in honor of there mythic origins now less than a memory. Leaders rise and fall marking time as the passage of Primes. As time moves on, these two TF factions collide over the fate of there planet and there role in the universe.

and that's just the summary version... ;;)

I borrow from G2, DW (sorta) and IDW for back ground into my G1 Continuity.

Wow, Ax, very, very nice. I like how many different continuities you have tied in there. I detect G1 animated, new movie, & Marvel comics in there with openings for most of the other comics towards the end. Where do your Quints come from, are they natives of Cybertron or invaders? if that's the summary I'd love to see an in-depth version...
