Galvatron has Hot Rod by the neck. He remarks how easily Autobots die by his hands. When all hope seems lost, a miracle happens. As Stan Bush's "The Touch" cues it beginning, the Matrix of Leadership begins to glow, reacting to Hot Rod's grasp on it. With Galvatron momentarily stunned by this, Hot Rod pulls both himself and the Matrix free from Galvatron's hold on each and stands up. He stares into the glow of the Matrix and the familiar voice of the deceased Optimus Prime speaks the words, "Arise, Rodimus Prime..." Such a powerful moment as it symbolizes that even Optimus is in full agreement with the Matrix's chosen bearer of Hot Rod as Optimus Prime's true successor. As these words are spoken, Hot Rod's body structure evolves: he grows much taller, his voice deepers, and his face gains a more mature complexion.
Galvatron attempts to stop this phenomenon by shooting at the Matrix, only to tick off Rodimus Prime, who declares that it is over for Galvatron. Rodimus charges at Galvatron, gives him a beating, and then throws him out of the giant body of Unicron
(where he winds up depends on the supplementary fiction). Rodimus resumes his work with the Matrix and, with a cry of "Now, light our Darkest Hour!" he opens the Matrix, with its crystal core dangling from the string that holds it in place between its two shell pieces (no seriously, the core is held by a blink-and-you'll-miss-it string).
A massive burst of energy is released from the Matrix, which surges throughout the body of Unicron. As the other Autobots attempt to escape the titan, Daniel cries out, "Look!" In the distance, running at full force, Rodimus Prime out races a huge explosion behind him inside a tunnel. As he makes it to his comrades, before anyone can react to his new physique, he gives the iconic command of Autobot leadership: "Autobots, transform and roll out!" Assuming his altmode, Spike and Daniel climb aboard, and Kup states how he had always believed in Hot Rod's potential. As soon as the Autobots vacate Unicron through his eye, the Chaos Bringer breathes his final words, "Destiny...! You cannot... destroy... my...
destiny--! as he explodes into a beautiful sight of bright green Angolmois.
On Cybertron, all the Autobots gather under their new leader who decrees this victory as the start of a new age of peace: "Let this mark the end of the Cybertronian wars, as we march forward to a new era of peace and happiness! 'Til All Are One!"
"'Til All Are One!"
"'Til All Are One!"
You got the touch! You got the POWER...!YEAH!As the floating remains of Unicron's orbiting head circles around Cybertron, the closing credits begin to play with the Lion cover track of "The Transformers (Theme)"
