This was originally geared toward youtubers, but I will extend the challenge to members here!

Where does your handle come from? What is it's history?

I picked mine cause i love the anti hero nihilistic mentality of the Monsterbot team. Obviously derived from their Bio's solely because they never really had any real place in the fiction or impact on any of the TF canon worth mentioning but i like them a lot. Much like the Dinobots.

I picked MonsterGrotusque because it was a bit of a play on words in respect to my love for horror and monster movie culture along with the Monsterbot team being a misfit team of rogue anti hero's existing outside of the law but still fundamentally on the side of whats right and morally correct and doing it their own way even though it wasn't the status quo.

Plus it's TF related which i figured was also relevant for this site.

So in short i may be a bad seed and do bad **** but my moral compass is sound and i'm an empathetic and compassionate person and i felt my name should reflect that as esoteric as that may be.

Sometimes good guys don't always ware white. Know what i mean?

I now wanna abreviate my handle to MG but you can't have less than 3 characters.

I like it! I had Repugnus as a kid and LOVED him! Good story!

My handle, "Core-1", came from an idea I had for my own fan-made Transformers... unfortunately, instead of bothering to work on the idea and write it down or get it on print, internet, or whatever, I forgot about it, thinking nothing would come to pass...
And then Hasbro revealed the Power Core Combiners, which for the most part was just like my idea, with a few differences.
Had I gotten some kind of work on that idea of mine first, I would've at least had some kind of bragging rights that I thought of it first (regardless of whether or not Hasbro regarded its existence).
Oh, well...

This should be a contender for an FPT (Frequently Posted Threads) list. I'll have to add this to an FAQ later

Anywho, the first part of my handle came simply from putting my first and last name together. The second part, well, I was playing a game called Jazz Jackrabbit 2 at the time (the community is still going strong last I saw), a game featuring a rabbit. For online playing, my color scheme was orange, red and blue, the orange was what made me choose "GoldRabbit". As you can tell from my avatar it no longer applies, so I'm going to change it soon to "Jelze Bunnycat" (see my signature). Yes, it's a cross between a bunny and cat.
Before anyone asks, I'm well aware of a Capsule Monster called "Jelze" in Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals. Just a funny coincidence. :)

by Rodimus Prime
Mine should be self explanatory. I picked it because I am a fan of Rodimus Prime, definitely in the minority in the fandom. Everyone likes Optimus, and most people hate Rodimus because he had a hand in Optimus dying in 1986. Me, I was looking forward to new characters and I really liked Hot Rod from the movie. Afterwards I supported Rodimus and took pride in defending him and his actions against all the Optimus-lovers.

I have a very long and exciting story for mine though it would be less than truthful. So I'll share the boring one.

I accidentally nicknamed my self Control Freak, as in I started comparing myself to a character in a story that was a control freak and my lovely friends ran with that.

So I just ran with it and tend to use something with C F in it for usernames. Though I have a love for sound (music, noise, anything sound related) and broadcasting (was a radio DJ for many years) so I've slowly started replacing Freak with Frequency.

And if I was ever to have a transformer modeled after my personality I'd totally want it called Control Frequency.

Oh, and there's a thing called frequency control that radios use to lock on to radio stations.

Oh, and there's a song with the line "I am a freak in control" that somewhat inspired it (of course the rest is "not a control freak")

Of course, Control Frequency is awfully long for a username, so I took the keyboard abbreviation of it ctrl.

I want a vanity license plate for my car that is CTRLFRQ or SNDWAV3 (someone already has SNDWAVE), there's a reason I don't have a personalized plate though, I can't make up my mind.

I've been through at least a dozen different handles on this site and none of them I liked for very long. The current one came is a combination of my love for the show LOST and Transformers.

Despite many assumptions, "Henry" is not my given name. It is my title.

It's taken in honor of a man who mentored me when I was young, and helped cultivate my love of writing and literature.

by Thalack
Thalack comes from D&D where the DM wanted me to play the bad guy on a long game he had setup. This was back in 1993 or 94 I think. I was resistant at first, but the DM had explained how the character was an aberration of Drow society, where all females were in control, Thalack was the only male with any form of true power there, and rumored to be the son of Lloth herself.

So after a little coercing, and a deal we made, he talked me into playing the character and the name ended up sticking.

I've gone through a lot of handles before I finally buttoned down with my current one. So I'm a massive Soundwave/Soundblaster fan and I wanted to incorporate that somehow into my username. But on a site FILLED with other Soundwave fans, I wanted something more...Unique... So, being the self-confindent, semi-narcissist I am, I slapped a Master on the front of Soundwave to give myself more of a standing title. Well MasterSoundwave didn't ring all that well in my ears so I went for the rebuilt/upgraded version of Soundwave, Soundblaster as the ending to that title. It rhymes and that's all that matters now

So yeah, I am the MasterSoundBlaster

I remember opening the very same thread a while back! :D

Mine is just the beginning of my last name (Va-) and beginning of first name (Alex). The apostrophe is because it sort of kind of looks like Ba'al, which is either 'master', 'lord' or 'false god'. And it sets it apart from the Vaal river in South Africa.

Here's a Wikipedia page on Baal/Ba'al (also a character in Stargate SG-1!): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baal.

I choose Towline from the 2001 Transformers: Robots in Disguise cartoon. I most resemble Towline in that I'm not too bright or competent. But I have a heart of gold.

I had... no idea for a name. Seems kinda obvious, but some abbreviate it as "Noid" which gives the impression they don't get it. I really didn't think I'd be here "permanently", just as long as the RotF hype lasted, so didn't bother with a 'real' name. Plus I was always amused by those not-really-names I saw in other forums ("a person", "[user deleted]", "username", etc.). Granted I'm never good with coming up with names anyways. ("Nickname your Pokemon?" YES! Um.................................................)

If I had actually put thought into it... probably "Buzzclaw", something Fuzor related, "Mercenary DOOMbringer", "Dr Scalpel", or something.

... or "Finallyhadanideaforaname!"

by Acelister
Created in 1997, this handle was my first foray into an internet identity. It began as Ace_lister, was briefly ace_lister2000 when I forgot my password, finally becoming Acelister in 2003. The entire reason was because the PS2 Network wouldn't allow an underscore.

It's origin comes from the BBC sitcom Red Dwarf (now on Dave). My favourite character was Ace Rimmer, my second favourite was main character Dave Lister. And so, Ace_Lister.

My YouTube channel came about because I didn't want to use my Acelister Google account for it. So I took the first part, Ace, and changed the word Awesomesauce to - - - Acesomesauce.

I was born without the fingers on my left hand. I've just got 4 nubs and a half-thumb/claw. Many years ago when I wanted to come up with an original username I remembered the Earthworm Jim character Evil the Cat had an awesomely hilarious name. So I changed Cat to Nub and added the underscores because a lot of websites didn't allow spaces on usernames.
