The 360 at least has good and exclusive games, and no they arent all FPS games, to make such a claim is just pure stupidity and fanboyish ignorance.
Lets look at the facts here:
PS3 ISNT a huge step up from the 360, both systems are technically the same as each other, 360 is even more powerful than the PS3 in many areas. So that right there makes the 360 a better system already due to its lower price point.
Now games: PS3 has had two half-decent exlusive games since launch, all the rest have been ports of 360 and PC games AND said ports dont even run as wlel on the PS3 as they did on the 360 and PC. The only "exclusives" the PS3 has left that are worth mentioning is MGS4 and as much as i love MGS, it isnt a game thats worth spending over £400 on!
Now Blu-Ray: Simply put, we dont need it. Why should we have to be forced to pay for a new media type that we do not want nor need? At least the 360 offers people the choice to upgrade to HD-DVD if they wish, and arent forced to pay out of their noses for it right from the get go.
Six-axis: A disaster if i ever saw one, and a total rip off of Nintendos stupid wii. No rumble=flat, dull gaming experiances. How can you possibly enjoy a game as much anymore without a rumble feature?
And this lame arguement about "needing" the extra space on a blu-ray disc is bullshit too, because even now developers still dont use up all the space on DVD/HD DVD discs, and probably wont for a good 3 or 4 years to go by which time MS and Sony (if they dont go bankrupt before then) will have new systems out anyway.
And lets not forget online play. The PS3's online is free, but it sucks ass. At least with xbox live you get a quality, well developed and easy to use and reliable system, which has remained unrivaled for many years now and shows no sign of letting up.
So, at the end of the day if the PS3 was "soooooo goood" like you claim it is, why do store shelves world wide still have PS3's on them collecting dust? Why doesnt EVERYONE have one? And why doesnt it have more exclusives? Answer: Microsoft and Nintendo.
Sony ruined their brand with the PS3, with CONSTANT lies, delays, disappointments and jacking up the price. They have screwed over the EU gaming market and lost many of their trump cards in the form of exclusives because developers can see this themselves and choose to port their games to the 360 and PC just to make their money back.
Oh and this so called "unrivaled" backwards compatibility arguement is moot as well, because this isnt about playing games from last gen, its about playing games NOW. Besides the PS3 has terrible BC abilities over here in the EU, even worse than the 360 id say.
360 is cheaper, better, and has more games than the PS3. At the end of the day that is all that matters:GAMES and the PS3 doesnt have any, unless you consider playing Motorstorm and resistance for the 5 billionth time because theres nothing else and the ports play better on the 360 and pc anyway.
And what with the release of the 360 Elite with a bigger hard drive than the PS3 all still for a lower price, that just adds another nail into PS3's coffin.
These are the cold hard facts, and are not just my fanboyish opinions. The PS3 lacks games, power, is too expensive, Blu-Ray isnt needed and the 360 and Wii have already proved world wide that gamers dont care about Sony anymore after all their screw ups.
The way i see it: Why buy a poorly made mercedes and pay more for the badge when you can buy a BMW that does everything the Merc can but is made better and is an overall better car?
Just to clear things up, I hate the PS3 because it sucks AND because I think Sony are a bunch of cheap SOBs out to make a quick buck.
Wii FTW!!!!
In the end, it's about how much enjoyment you get out of the games.
Take the Legend of Zelda- the Phantom Hourglass for example. Being on the DS, it's graphics aren't mind blowing. Yet it is so good, that I've spent the past four days solid playing it. And I've only just finished the main quest this afternoon.
When you buy Nintendo, you know you're buying quality.
And I'm not including third party in that statement. As most games third party churns out for every console is a load of bollocks.
It's just as well you didn't play Hunters NC. My playing it on hard mode contributed to how my thumb seizes up after a couple of minutes of button pressing. Damn good fun, long game, and great online.
