Having read a post on this forum earlier, giving me the idea for this post, which is the overal most best soundwave out of Revenge of the fallens satellite soundwave and dark of the moon's Mercedes soundwave?

What really makes soundwave look so freakin awesome?

I prefer dotm soundwave, due to him actually having a robot, but the satellite is just as good with lovely design. I also like the design put into his mini machine gun time gun.

Which one do you guys prefer?

I think ROTF used Soundwave more apporpriatey, but I like DOTM soundwave because he actually did something.

Yes, his ROTF role seemed more classic Soundwave to me. Since he was the main spy master in G1 that satallitte role fit him more. But the DOTM Soundwave I enjoyed also but that is probably because he actually did something in the movie.

I'll go with RotF, he was better utilized, his specialty is communications. Though in DotM he appeared to have the ranking of what he had in G1, which is right under Megatron and Shockwave. In RotF he just seemed like another drone. And I prefer the satellite to the Mercedes. Soundwave is not a freaking car. But, the product placement gods must be satisfied...

DotM. It was nice to see him in action and with Laserbeak at his side.

Guys don't forget that in DOTM he was spying on Carly and Sam almost all the time. Moreover for those who had no idea about Soundwave being a car before thay watched DOTM it was a real surprise when he fist transformed from his alt mode.

I prefer DOTM Soundwave despite the fact of his voice not being vocoderized, and no faceplate.

I don’t think either version was ‘better’ per se, except maybe in the sense of being better suited for the specific task being asked of Soundwave at the moment. My preference, however, as in I got a kick out of looking at him and watching what he did would be the variant of Soundwave in Revenge Of The Fallen.

Reasons: DOTM Soundwave looked fine and all as a robot and his car mode was pretty, but there were other robot/car combos that looked equally good to me—he didn’t stand out for me, visually. I also can’t remember him doing anything spectacular enough to stick with me. And the surprise of Soundwave being Carly’s ‘loaner’ car? Didn’t work, or rather wouldn’t have worked, even if I hadn’t known beforehand. Carly’s boss just played it WAY too creepy right from the start…(thank you, Captain Obvious)...

ROTF Soundwave, though…ah, now he was different! Him I remember. And the scene of him first infiltrating that satellite was so creepy and alien and a little disturbing--heck, even some critics who slammed the movie picked up on that visual and praised it. He was also directly responsible for giving me one of my favourite eye-popper scenes—sending Ravage to retrieve the shard—and I’m sure he had something to do with making possible one of my favourite totally inane scenes: Judy Witwicky mistaking Megatron for an obscene phone caller and hanging up on him! (What the--???) That’s enough for me to like ROTF Soundwave better.

Don't think so, although the Fallen's the one who did flash up pics of Sam and demanded he be turned over during his speech a little later on. The phone call came right after Megatron's booting Starscream around (again) for failing to grab Sam during the fight with Optimus. Megatron concludes with something like "Then we'll force them (the humans) to find him for us...yada yada...prepare for my Master's arrival."...there's a cut to Soundwave out in space, announcing to his Decepticon pals that it's time to mobilize, then a zippety-zip cut back down to Earth, and Judy's phone starts ringing. The voice is distorted and staticky enough that I suppose it COULD even be Soundwave himself talking, but the tone of it sure sounds like a pissed-off Megatron to me! ("Yeeessss..." )

By the way, there's another reason to like ROTF Soundwave. If it weren't for Soundwave's clever eavesdropping, Megatron would never have been revived at all.
