He's decently posable given the age of the mold, has a nice heft to him, Lots of Acc's, and was a frickin' awesome concept before the whole "Nemesis Prime" thing was done to death.
Even now he is the best of the Black Primes IMHO (yes even including Uni. NP)

I highly recomend people to check out the Seibs gallery of him here.
*Side note
I really wish Ryan would go back to taking his time on his galleries like he used to :?

DING DING DING!

We have a winner.

See, I knew I liked Bun for more then just being a bad ass!

Scourge=amazing

Here I thought you just liked me for my rockin' curves and sweet ass

My 5 runner-ups would be

1: 20th Aniversary Opimus Prime (not DVD Prime)
Damn good figure. Awesome figure. Only reason he didn't get my first spot was because... well, Even if he is the greatest representation of Prime ever, he is just another Prime in a long line of Primes

2: Masterpiece Starscream(US version)
Even though he's not nearly as bad-ass as I thought he'd be before I bought him, he is still a very good figure.
Plus the stand he comes with makes posing him very fun.
Also like 20th OP he's still just another Screamer in a long line of screamers

3: Universe Razorclaw
I had seen Tigerhawk up close many times and just had never been impressed with him. As a result I never picked up U Razorclaw when he was in stores and ended up getting him online later only because I found him cheap.
Once I got him and started messing with him I was completly won over.
This figure was never meant to have Tigerhawks colorscheme, it kills him. The black purple redeco really brings out everything that is bad-ass about this figure, the only bad part about it is the sensitivity of the spring loaded mechanisms on his back. Still I wouldn't give him up for anything.

4: Cybertron Unicron
I was initially skeptical about this figure... I mean why the hell would you make the original huge bad-ass planet into a friggen deluxe sized tank ?!?! But the figure manages to be a little gem despite the lame cyber-key gimmick.
Even though he's smaller than most of the other main figures in the line he definitly gives the impression of wicked evilness, and the fact that you can rotate two of his 'spears' up to replace his hadns to give him melee weapons is pretty cool.
If this figure was re-released as Bludgeon in Classics I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat.

5: Energon Towline
Not the flashiest figure out there, but he's got really good posability and due to the fact that he has a "sled" he's very free of kibble, making him a great, lean, fighter-type character.
I'm also partial to characters that have what could be semi-autonomous components. That sled gives Towline built in back-up

Honorable mention: Energon Bulkhead, for all the reasons I mentioned for Towline.
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of SEIBERTRON.COM, its staff members, or any other site lackeys.
Anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight.

Motto: "...and I used to be such a nice guy."
Weapon: Jawbreaker Cannon
I had to go back and look since no one else mentioned him for fear that he wasn't allowed.

G1 Prime anyone?

Seriously.

That toy is the lone reason we're all here. I can understand that MP Convoy is truely a superior version of G1 Prime, but greatest of all time? G1 Prime.

Iconic

Available

Action-packed

Everything a prime should have or be.

We can't leave him off the list. It's not fair to ignore his contribution, almost like it's not fair to allow him to compete.

G1 Prime wins so hands down above all other Transformers that the title of this thread should be "Who do you view as the greatest tf of all time, excluding G1 Prime as G1 Prime would have obviously won otherwise?"

Hmmm,.... For me I gotta go with the transformer that got me the most excited as a kid.

Powermaster Optimus Prime

For the time, the cab look was terrific and gave me the closest thing to the cartoon look of prime. I wholly admit it was essentially a brick, but the look was there. I was so stressed out that I wouldn't get it for Christmas, that I actually lost sleep over it. The combining aspect of it was great because he could go toe to toe with Galvatron, and not look like a shrimp! I got unbelievable mileage out of that figure.

Weapon: Electro-Sword
ive got MP Prime and Powermaster Prime (well had power master prime) and as much as i nearly wet myself the first time i saw a picture in a magazine of MP Prime, Powermaster still got a bigger buzz out of me when i got it one christmas. I think there are them many primes now its flooded the appeal of him in my eyes (he's still damn beautiful), and Powermaster wasnt my favourite back then. Im not sure id have ANY prime in my top 10.

Though Shortround will always be my personal favourite, Primus will always be the GREATEST - at least he is for now, he's going to be a tough one to beat.

Never owned G1 Prime.
Never cared to.
Still don't.

In fact I don't think I owned a single Prime until maybe 4 years ago(as long as you don't count Primals) when I bought RiD Prime for cheap.

It's heresy, I know, but Prime did nothing for me as a kid, infact I don't remember giving a flying f*** when he was killed off in the movie.

For me if it weren't for Jetfire, Soundwave, and the Dinobots I may have never gotten into TF's, but Prime... meh.

MP/20th Prime only made my list because he is so well made and such a great homage that it actually made me give a damn about Prime for once.

The easiest way for me to answer this would be to think of my house as burning and I could only save 1...

Optimal Optimus

I have rarer, I have funner, but I don't have such a perfect merger of the two.

Weapon: Dual Impact Maces
As others have stated, RID Scourge is my favorite of all time.

totally agree. the perfect combination (so far, i'm open to more possibilities!) of Machine and Beast. the penultimate Beast Wars figure, even better than Air Attack Primal IMHO.

Hah. Using the house is burning scenario, I would, being right handed, grab MP Prime in my right hand, his trailer in my left, grab MP Megs with my teeth, and then proceed to run out the door.

Once they're safe, I'll consider going back in for my gf and the cats......

Who's kidding? :???:
