Why did Megatron become a truck?

Why did Megatron become a truck?

Weapon: Cluster Bombs
OMG why did Megatron become of all things a truck?

How did he get from the plains of Africa into the USA?

He actually looked cool as the truck mind you. I just wish they had done that in a leader class toy and not the voyager which while OK isn't perfect.

I agree with this.. As the tanker truck he looked totally awesome.

Will he come back for another movie I wonder. Optimus did a pretty good job of ripping him in half, and gutting him

I guess they needed yet another way to sell a newer toy of him. At first I (and some others) speculated that maybe it was an answer to Prime's alt. mode and that it would facilitate an awesome showdown between them. After seeing the movie, obviously this did not happen. Another wasted opportunity in DotM. Don't get me wrong, I liked DotM, it was the best of the 3 films, it's just that they could have used the truck mode better.

The way he was killed, I think the statement by Bay was clear: no more TF movies from me. (Or, at least, no more with Megatron in them.) He was thoroughly brutalized and killed. But, this is the TF Universe, nothing and no one stays dead forever. :P

And yeah, I'm still holding faint hope for a Leader Class version of Megatron. But it's fading by the day. :(

Well if you look on pre-DOTM info. (like in the game)... Megatron had to free shockwave from some cryostasis. He had to go through underground tunnels so he took form of truck...

However it was cool all three powerful transformers transformed into trucks..!!

After the battle between Optimus and the Fallen, Megatron under Starscream's suggestion that cowards live, limped away; half his face was blown to bits and he had an arm torn off. He was forced into hiding, so he scanned an Earth Mode like all the other hiding Decepticons. Don't ask why he choose a truck over a tank for instance, but I think it had something to with Brawl's failure/death, and wanting a less obvious disguise (a truck is out of character for Megatron, for sure) should Optimus try and track him down.
Top 5 Priorities:

1) BW Neo X-7 Elphaorpha
2) BW II VS-18 Powerhug vs. Autocrusher
3) Universe 2003 Night Slash Cheetor
4) RiD Landfill (regular, not the yellow)
5) BW Convobat (red) & Megalligator (purple)

Also looking for any clear Arms Microns, like Shadow (Gora & R.A.), Hellflame and Shining (O.P. and R.A.).

Preparing to move to the US!

3?????? Who was the third truck? Did I miss something? Did you mean Ironhide?

Ah... Yeah I like the fire truck alt mode.

Only why did they have Leonard Mimoy ruin such a great quote from Spock. Forever ruined by this movie

I like the irony of dotm megatron getting a mack liscensed truck cab.

the irony was cool because those involved in the movies. said optimus prime could,n't get his 1984 mack truck cab design because it looked inferior & tiny to the superior peterbilt truck cab design movie verse optimus prime received.
