What kind of games are we talking about here? SEGA doesn't make games for just consoles you know? I don't know if it still is, but it was a major player in the Arcade area.

I know they made the sonic arcade game. I'm talking about the games they make for consoles. their arcade games are fantastic.

Sega has made a number of great games beyond arcade titles. Yes they have taken a hit since they stopped making their own systems but they still have a great list of home titles. Honestly however it all depends on what you believe is a great game.

But to say their non arcade games are crap, I'm sure I can find a number fans of Phantasy Star, Jet Set/Grind Radio, Sakura Taisen, Crazy Taxi and many more who would debate you.

Heck I would debate that on the merits of PSO, Skies of Arcadia, and HotD: Overkill.

SEGA made Valkyria Chronicles, which does not suck. In fact it's one of my all time favourite games.

The general consensus is that if there's one series that needs improving, it's the Sonic series, specifically the 3D ones after the Advenutres. Don't get me wrong, I like them, but the controls and camera could use some work. With Colors they're going in the right direction.

Development times. They spend on average less than 12 months developing a title. Back in the 80s and early\mid 90s, this was fairly typical of many games companies, but now less than 12 months for a headline franchise like Sonic is far below par.

They need to invest more to earn more.

I was about to say that Streets of Rage wants an apology. That series was amazing.

I don't really care for a lot of the newer Sega stuff. I have Bayonetta sitting on my desk and haven't played it yet.

I don't own any SEGA games, nor am I a big fan of them, but I own a Dreamcast (Seriously) and a few old Sega Games like Crazy Taxi and they seem pretty good. Still, Shadow the Hedgehog...

The new AvP game doesn't suck. It wasn't perfect but it didn't suck. Sega's refusal to allow Rebellion to patch the game sucks, though.

Too bad Sega didn't make Bayonetta. They only published it. Platinum Games made Bayonetta.

Eh? DMC3 blew DMC1 out of the water. Substantially improved gameplay, and a better emphasis on story and characters. And unlike Bayonetta, DMC doesn't sell copies based on hyping the sexuality of it's main character.

Maybe the game was sold by that, but Bayonetta is one of the best action games in recent years. The only people still hung up on the fact that Bayonetta is unabashed in her sexuality are the people who never really played the game.

I've spent much of the last week playing the God of War series, so I really, really can't agree with that.

EDIT: Keep in mind, "Action Game" is a very broad term. I know you mean Hack-And-Slash, games like God of War and DMC, but Action Games can refer to a loooot of different subgenres.

Im sorry other then the boss fights I found the GOW series especially pt 3 a mindless button masher and again PT3 was overall forgettable, but that's just my opinion.

I seem to recall Bayonetta having a mode that turns into entire game into one extended "Press X to not Die" segment...

There's a difference between adding a mode for newbs and the overall style game originally being nothing more then mindless button mashing.

You do know there's things in God of War that aren't fighting, right? Lots of puzzle solving. And I never cared that it was so mindless because it just looks so damn cool. Why hit a hundred buttons with perfect timing, when I can just hit triangle three times and see a torrent of godly flame spring from my arms and slaughter most if not all of the literally Godforsaken mooks in front of me?

EDIT: I should have mentioned, it stops being that simple about 20 minutes in.

Again that's why I finished my 1st Post With "In my honest opinion" I found the puzzle simple and inane.

Which puzzle? Because there's a lot of them. And they aren't all that simple.

Take your pick I beat all three game in a matter of 3 days each across both platforms, no disrespect but I found Zero challenge in any of the puzzels. The only thing I found challenging in GOW was the platforming which in part one was borderline terrible.

Well, whatever. It doesn't mean they're bad games. It just means you, personally, don't like them. And if there's one thing I should have learned by now, it's that I can't actually change anyone's opinions.
