Exactly. It'd be like having G1 Toon and G1 Comic collections separate. You'd buy double the toys, with maybe...maybe, one or two where repaints allowed you to differentiate.
Actually, I kinda do that but not quite. I don't doible up normally but I separate into cartoon and other. I've got Autobots, Decepticons, Season 2 Bots & Cons, Movie, Autobot Beyond, and Decepticon Beyond. The last two have your Nightbeats, Hot Shots, and Star Sabres and your Deathsaurus, Straxus, Acidstorms, Lugnuts.
I separate kinda like that myself. I have season 1, season 2, TF:TM, and then it gets tricky with Season 3 and "expanded universe", my version of the Wreckers, etc. But I've been finding that I'm needing to separate some according to past and future now with the G2 guys and some of the WFC type toys.
