Will Transformers DVDs have closed captions?

I am hearing impaired, so I need subtitles to read and understand the story. I am also fortunate to enjoy Transformers: The Movie (1986) because it was subtitled due to the fact it was in Japanese! :D

Do ALL DVDs come with closed captions, BTW? If so, I don't have to worry when I decided to buy some so I can enjoy the good old cartoons! :P

Generally Id say yes.

What you need to bare in mind is that not all tf dvds come from the same place. G1 dvds (in this country (UK) at least) is released by Metrodome, and im not sure if they have subtitles. The Japanese G1 seireses (again Metrodome) do have subs, becuase a decent english dub dosnt exist.

Id imagine the more recent seriese would have subs.

I don't know where you are, but in the US, no not all DVDs are captioned, nor, apparently, are they required to be. The recent Voltron DVDs aren't and a recent season set of another show I watch, a show which was captioned for the broadcasts, is not captioned.

I've also got some hearing problems, so this is an issue for me. Fortunately, the recently release of TFTM was captioned, so there is a chance that the new release of the series will be as well. However, I suspect we won't know for certain until the new release.

The G1 series release by Rhino in the US did not have subtitles w/it. The re-release of the movie by Sony however did. I'm willing to bet that Season 1 also being re-released by Sony will have also possibly have subtitles.
