Had some time off today from work and wanted to share the wings I made for my alternator tracks. I want to thank somebody, I don't know who, I've searched and searched for the person who had this idea first. They are the one who put this idea into my brain and made me want to try my own. Anyhoo... Thanks! http://photobucket.com/albums/e251/reece307/tracks/

That is actually a very cool idea. What did you use to get those wings/what are the wings from?

Thanks Doomtron and Shade!!! :D The G1 feel is what I was going for. I made the wings from what I believe is styrene. Got the stuff from my brother and since I have not been able to locate any at the Hobby Lobby in my town I am really not quite sure though. It is in sheet form though. I cut the pieces from that and used my exacto blade to cut grooves into it to form lines on the wings (probably can't tell from the pictures though). I hand painted the red stripes on them. The outer wing tips are from left over christmas lights (they are not electrical though). The main wings simply push into the screw holes on his chest close to the rear tires in car mode. The back wings have thin strips that slide in under the rear window to hold in place. In Robot mode the main wings slide inside the interior of the car (I performed the tracks rotating conversion on him) and are held in place by the car doors pressing on them. The tail wings slide into the holes that are on the front windshield sun visors.
