With reguards to ultra magnus

What choices are there for someone looking to fill a spot in a classics display?
I am aware of the city commander add on that requires an ultra magnus base figure.(which is simply a classics convoy O.P. painted white just as it was with the G1 version. Is this correct?) What is the general asking price for just the city commander add on, for just the white "ultra magnus" base figure and finally for both combined?
I ask because prices tend to fluxuate greatly on ebay especially with the buy it now options mixed with the auctions that gradually increase over time. It can be quite difficult to nail down an average price on things.
Are there any other ultra magnus options out there that would fit into scale with the classics line?
I would say that anything more than two inches taller than convoy O.P. would be out of scale. (I say this with the knowledge that city commander exceeds that, however exceptions can be made when figures are that kick ass.)
Any suggestions for someone not looking to spend two hundred plus on an ultramagnus?

Id'e say, your out of luck...
Wait... What is THAT!?
Image
Only the single greatest Ultra Magnus ever to be released, ever.
Box Art does this guy NO justice, wich is why I posted this posed picture instead... Owning him is the Ultimate Victory, trust me. Pluss, he combines with RID Optimus to form Omega Prime, Fits in well with Classics, and on top of it all, can be found on eBay for a little more than $100.00, because of added shipping...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRANSFORMERS-RID-Ultra-Magnus-MISB-NEW-/280715284454?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5420152404010778404
He's MUCH larger than Classics OP, but hey, like you said:

Hmm. Hes not so bad. Especially concidering the alternative. City commander, or NOTHING. Ya gotta wonder why they didnt go ahead and add the horns to his head to cement the ultra magnus feel though.
May I ask what the RID stands for on that O.P. figure you mentioned?

KO?

If you're looking for a specific scale, your options are pretty limited. There's the Titaniums UM, but it's on the small side. There's an upcoming MP, but that's probably a couple years off, a lot more than 2 inches larger than Classics Prime, and probably will run about $250-300. That's about all I can think of that's fairly G1 accurate.

They're both from RID, Robots In Disguise.
It was my favorite series, and had some of the best toys ever made!

you should watch the whole series, It's pretty damn good, with alot of cameos from un-expected characters

AHAH! Robots in disquise. Well that prime magnus combo looks killer! Not to mention powerful.
I cannot think of another more powerful combo than prime and magnus.
Im guessing that was their ace in the hole? I cant imagine to many standing in the way of that combo except for maybe a megs screamer, or galv cyclonus combo.

What about Energon Ultra Magnus. People seemed to go loopy over those a while back. Odd looking but it sort of worked as it had the white cab that clipped into his chest a bit like the G1 toy.

That's going to cost more than City Commander.

Currently there really only is City Commander, CHMS did post renders of an UM they're working on, but that might take a very long time to come out.

Alternatively you could make one using the Universe Inferno mold and some paint.

There's also Titanium Ultra Magnus, but I don't think the scale is quite right

He was already mentioned. Really, what stopped me from buying this was it's paint. Teely sky-powder blue. and the only OP its in scale with is that one from the 2-pack, wich might I add is VERY cool, not lame like people say....

I say go KO city commander i picked mine up of Ebay for £35 and its not bad at all it has a flaw here and there but nothing that cant be fixed

The head looks good, legs, waist, chest fit perfect on mine the flaws are the shoulder and fists as there a little loose but i used some blue tack and everthing is fine just for poseing

The plastic is not bad at all either doesnt feel cheep and light

The paint again is not bad some nit picks

The main bother for me is that Big Fn Gun 1. i just hate it anyway 2. he just cant hold it up , i heard a few people say if if UM shoulders are weak he cant hold it up but mine tight and still no joy

you can always get a ko utra magnus to go with the CC you wouldnt be able to tell as he is hidden

plus you can get some reprolabels for him for extra detail.

I will try and put some pics up of mine later on tonight but over all for that price you cant realy complain for a ko.

considering the price of Classics UM and the City Commander set, plus any of the add-ons for the add-on, I've thought about a KO version before, but I'm happy with alternating between God Magnus (okay, it's just the RID Ultra Magnus, but I like his Japanese name better) and and Energon Ultra Magnus.

The Energon one is crazy money you say? I like him with my AEC cast (need to pick up a Bulkhead at some point to be my Springer) but he's not 100% there for Classics. He's a nice placeholder, but I personally could do with a better likeness to G1.

The Titanium one is sort of good. Shame he's so white, and the blue isn't really blue. That puts me off. I like how they made it all one thing though, no partsforming, is there?

The missle launchers come off, then re-attatch in bot mode. The transformation is strikingly simplistic. Literaly pop pop pop your done.....

Here let me put you off of that horrible toy:

If that's not enough, his knees bend the wrong way, his arms pop off just from being looked at funny.

Plus it's super rare and therefore super expensive, getting a Classics Ultra Magnus and genuine City Commander with upgrade pack is cheaper especially considering what the tits version offers compared to CC.

Animated UM did absolutely nothing for me so I take it the same with you? I would just consider that just a suggestion mind you and I'm surprised this one wasn't mentioned or did I miss it...? Whoa, now that I think of it HasTak didn't make an UM for Cybertron/Galaxy did they? :-? :VEHI:

Technically, they did release an Ultra Magnus for Cybertron, a repaint of RiD Ultra Magnus, as a Costco exclusive. Same as Universe 2003 Ultra Magnus.

Forgot about Animated UM. I wouldn't mind him too much. But I don't have any other Animated bots, and they are quite distinctive in their designs, in a way that sets them apart from a lot of other styles of TF.

Oh, Dead Metal, you unsold me on Tits UM, btw, nice work.

And the sad thing is, It's such a simple fix. Just place the head farther back, paint it a darker blue, and bring in some more red. Done. But they royally screwed up, and it's super expensive to boot!
My Vote STILL goes to RID Ultra Magnus.
oh yeah, RID Magnus lights up and says like, I think 5 phrases, 3 of wich are only unlocked if all the right tabs are pressed, I.E if he's combined with optimus plus four different firing sounds? and his carrier mode fits up to four deluxe car/truck figures. With a few acceptions, he can fit almost every deluxe car and truck in his trailer from the actual RID show, straight down to classics, even RTS figures. He's simply put, the best magnus. Giant legs and all.

Doesn't look that re-painted at all. In fact, it looks the same, Unless THAT'S the one I have. But I got both my OP and UM from two TOTALLY Different sources, so it's not possible I don't think. Still, comparing shots between RID UM and COSCO Cybertron UM, I don't see much difference, Unless it's just the packaging pic. Is it more Black on the legs? Less Chrome? I don't really see a difference. Still, Plastic Quality is great on mine, not so much as a single stress mark or bent point or anything like that to be found! Very sturdy. Chrome paint is another story, but Iv'e had a successful run on keeping the chrome paint ON mine, no flaking. Oh, same with OP, but he's got barely any chrome. His chest ensignia, I think anyway, and his head mounted guns (horns) And eyes, that's it. Back on topic here. RID Magnus Rocks! His BFG (Named Blue Bolts) Is also, at least I believe, the Inspiration for Ultimate OP's gun placement and features.
And regaurding Animated Magnus? Hell Frikkin Yeah! That's one badass mofo. Seriously, Great toy, Pleasing amount of firepower, Seriously awesome voice features, Surprisingly complex transformation, solid paint job, very posable, and DEF. Worth the money. RID Magnus holds my vote, but Animated isn't a bad way to go.

You have the black version of Ultra Magnus, lucky. That is the repaint version also sold under the Universe line. There is also a repaint of RID Prime that was repainted for Universe, it is yellow. I remember buying Prime at Sam's Club, was stupid to pass on Magnus. I don't think I've ever seen the Costco 2-pack

This is the original version, there is a big difference between the two, should be no question as to which version you have:

Nope, Iv'e got that one, the original.
I was pointing out that the one in the picture looked like it had black on it. I personally thought that was due to lighting of the photo. Still, I cannot stress how much this IS Ultra Magnus.

I like that titanium U.M. At first I thought the placement of the head from a side view was too weird and it was already said that the sad part is its such an easy fix but it grew on me rather quickly.
He is all one pard hu? No cab fitting into an exo suit to be found there? How exactly was that done I wonder?
Still if city commander is actually CHEAPER I gotta go with that.
Actually, If titanum U.M. is much closer to scale with my convoy o.p. than I guess I could choose titanum UM.M to C.C. but only if he is damn close to scale. Otherwise C.C. has it on titanum.
It has to be said that City commander is one bad ass toy fellas.
