Motto: "If it feels so good, it can't be wrong."
Weapon: Whiplash Cutlass
First, get your spelling right. :-P

I know what you're going through. I've been working on a nice little project for almost 10 years now. Finished a rough draft about 4 years ago. Thought the revision would only take a few months. But then school kept getting in the way, and downloading Seinfeld, and work, and lo and behold the ideas just kept piling up of what could be changed.

Soon a get a job that I'm so bored at that I end up revolutionizing the whole story and I realize just how much it sucked before.

And I sit down in front of the computer and stare a Word and realize I really don't care. Until I'm at work again.

Rinse and repeat.

Keep track of every idea. If you have writer's block, maybe you shouldn't actually write, but record. Get such an outline going that even you can barely keep track of it. Sometimes that will jump start you into starting.

If you have any other hobbies, do those. Whatever part of your creativity is stoked at the moment, roll with that.

But probably the only way you'll really conquer it, is to force yourself. Just start. Ignore any feelings of "this isn't working, it sounds like ****." Plow forward, hammering out the most technical and dry summary of the events. And then it happens, just as the chair starts to feel rock hard: you care. You're in the world and you're the messenger of something that is really happening out there. Six hours later, you're saying "Damn, people are gonna be like 'Holy **** that was a chapter'". It's 5 in the morning, you're dead tired, and you're gonna be late for work. But when you look back on the material later, change some things, it works.

And if you can't do that, at least keep it all summarized somewhere, so if you get hit by a cement truck, someone can still bring it to life.

Something you might want to do, if you haven't already, (and something I checked into myself) is to join a writer's group. Speaking with others who share your interest might help you get some ideas going. You might want to check your local library to see if they have anything in that vein, or if they know of any groups that meet.

Whenever I get stuck on something I'm writing I just walk away from it for a while or do some other reading. I usually find that I have to wait for inspiration. If I force it it just ends up getting worse.

I think setting definate deadlines that you must meet helps-if u give yourself forever a project will take forever-sure u can have pet projects, but if u want something really done u gotta work at it, even when it gets tough.

On that note i am finishing my story board tomorrow, and accual work begins on Monday-ill post some pics of my concept sketches and the work in progress stuff as i go along-and anyone who is in Ireland is more than welcome to my exhibition in June :D

Good luck with your story. I'm currently in the process of writing a novel myself and hope that it will get picked up for publication when I'm done.

I find music sets the mood for writing, and that writing from start to finish is a bad idea. Let your mood dictate what scene you write, and I find that you'll have a more honest and heartfelt product as a result.
