I agree with the movie VS animated series differences when it comes to Hot Rod.

He was the hero in the movie, but then afterwards he DID turn into a whiny second-guessing wuss. His design and fighting skills were freaking sweet through- although I DID think his Cybertronian Camper Mode was flat-out stupid- for the matrix I thought the vehicle mode would be much much cooler and more equipped.

You have to admit that things DID fall apart pretty bad after Prime died, so I guess you COULD chalk Rodimus off to being a crappy leader- but that was also crappy writing so I'd say his leadership was more of one of those "bad things happen to good guys" cases. He meant well but still did pretty bad..

My candidate would probably be Wheelie too though, because....well just freakin look at him. lol

I'd vote for Beachcomber. Give him a Combi van, beads and an acoustic guitar and you've won the war.

I think the worst Leader could be in the Universe who will not just be confused the hole fractions is Doubledealer. And after Double Dealer it is in fact G1 Rodimus Prime.

Optimus Prime, hands down. Let's look at the facts:

- Under his leadership, the Autobots lost their foothold on Cybertron. By the time the 80s movie came out, the Autobots were kicked out of Cybertron altogether and had to stage their home on Cybertron's moons and on Earth.

- Because of this, the war between the two factions had spilled over to other world - something that, despite Optimus's grievances in MTMTE and how the war wasn't "our problem", it escalated regardless.

- In "Rebirth", this is shortly after Rodimus handed the Autobot leadership back to Optimus, the Autobots had lost control of Cybertron (again) to Galvatron.

- Optimus lost to Galvatron while Rodimus didn't (Prime threw Galvatron out of Unicron at the end of the movie). Galvatron is one of the weakest Decepticon leader, if not the weakest, that faction has ever had. That speak volumes as to Optimus's leadership ability compared to Prime's.

- Under Prime's leadership, Cybertron prospered and developed diplomatic relationships with other worlds and established alliances. Under Optimus's leadership, however, the Autobots were made pariahs or targeted by humans many times throughout their time on Earth (Megatron's Master Plan, Attack of the Autobots, Aerial Assault, Prime Target, etc.)

- Even in the Japanese continuity (Headmasters), Optimus's leadership was shoddy. He couldn't prevent Cybertron becoming a burnt-out, inhospitable husk.

I will because Transformers to me is like what crack is to Rob Ford.

Well... Did not expect that.
Also, worst leader? Armada Hot Shot. Why on earth was he in charge again?

Movieverse Prime. He's always late to the battles and has a really high body count. Also his obsession with decapitation has caused some concern among the troops.

Animated Sentinel Prime isn't much better. He's a rigid, self-aggrandizing, xenophobic jerk with an itchy trigger finger.

And he actually did pretty well.

As for who I think would be worst Autobot leader? Well, if we can step outside the G1 box and if Maximals count as Autobots, I'd say Depth Charge would be the worst possible person to put in charge of an army. Obsessive and vengeance-driven, Depth Charge would quickly make the Autobots as bad as their enemies, hunting down the Decepticons across the universe and raining down disproportionate retribution on them with little to no regard for whatever innocents might get caught in the crossfire.

Erector. Nobody will ever take him seriously.

Autobot Spike. Possibly more punchable than Wheelie.

Huffer or Gears. Both unbearable nihilists.

Hauler. He appears...once. Great going.

Hot Shot. The Autobots will have their every resource turned to the the acquisition of JaAm.
