The more I look at this the more I'm liking it.

He would make a better classics Ironhide too when compared to classics Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, who are huge compared to the rest. They make the actual classics Ironhide look puny.

Its just the head needs to be tweeked a little. It looks like the 2 circular bulges on the sides of his helmet sit up to high? His cheeks are too puffy and his eyes are too wide on the outer edges?

Their website says this could have a Fall 2012 release. I have to say I'm intrigued. I want to see the vehicle mode now.

Fall release seems optimistic though being that we saw Tyrant a long time ago and that hasn't been released. I would take less weapons if it could be cheaper and a quicker release too.

Definitely needs Ratchet.

I did my own digibash just so I could get a sense of what he would look like, now that I look at it, I don't think I would change a thing. He is so G1 I love it!!!!

You know, this figure isn't horrible, it just isn't great. iGear has already filled my need for a classics style Ironhide.

I wonder if BBTS would carry this, or is this too soon after the Igear release? I still don't fully understand why BBTS didn't carry Hegemon?

I hope the demand is there and X-transbots can make this happen even after the Igear release as well.

I feel it is awhile ago now that we saw Tyrant, and he still isn't even close to release.

If they scaled him down so he would fit better with G1 figures, they may find a market for this.

He'd look right in a G1 collection.

I think he goes better with classics figures. Im not saying it is the greatest figure, but it has 2 things most G1 figures lack:

*Articulated ball joints
*Fairly cartoon accurate

I know some people like to mix new and vintage figures, but for me posable action figures and non-posable box figures side by side looks weird. I keep a vintage shelf on the other side of the room.

Hopefully this one will be easier on the wallet than the Igear one and I will be able to afford him.

Being only a bit shorter than the PP05 series releases and still coming with several accessory pieces, I doubt it'll be much cheaper if at all. However, X-TB updated their site claiming an October release. If they can keep with this deadline, then we should know the price soon. Anyone want to take a guess at who is supposed to ship at the same time, labelled "X8 Doctor Primus"... :BANG_HEAD:

My days of double dipping are quickly coming to an end, but I look forward to some in-hand reviews before I even think about picking them up (being a fully paid PP05 set customer). Aesthetically, I like the iGear products more.

So were there any protoypes of this at TFcon?

I saw the computer rendering pics on TFW site......wow, vehicle mode needs work. I want to get this, but I won't spend $200 on just bot modes.

Also if they only have computer renderings right now, I find it hard to believe this will be ready by October....

EDIT: Well the vehicle modes aren't too bad, but they are not as spot on as Igear's.....

I was wondering if I could get some advice about these guys, I think I might be caving in soon to pre-order them, but so far my only experience has been with BIg Bad Toy Store.... whom I am assuming won't be carrying these guys.

If I recall correctly, you pay up front for Robot Kingdom preorders?

If so, would it be smart to just hold off on pre-ordering until we get closer to a concrete release date? ....just in case something like I-Gear's year long delay happens, or worse if the project gets canceled due to lack of interest (due to being beat to the punch by Igear, and the fact the vehicle mode is not great)?

Thanks in advance for any info....

Yes, you have to pay for preorders once you make that decision with RK. I would hold off on making a pre-order until there are at least more pictures of the tangible products. We've only seen the prototype Ironhide in robot mode, but not alt mode. No sign of Ratchet yet.

I think I'm still in the market for these over IGEAR's. I hope they can clean up the van mode. Igear nailed the van mode.

Unfortunately I think they are pushing for an October release, so I doubt much changes if any will be made. I'd hate see this get delayed long for edits so it a hard call to make for me?:

I think on their facebook that they mentioned they wouldn't have final pics until early November? I hope they really can still pull off October or at least early November.

I wanted to see pics first, but I caved and ordered not too long ago.

I feel like I'm the only one who is interested in them, I hope nothing happens where they pull out do to lack of interest. I'm sure everyone got the Igears versions over these guys....seems like bad timing.

Me too. I'd go after Igear's version, but he's too big to fit in with my Classics shelf and that green Ironhide (I don't care if they call it Kup in the concept from 2009 he was Ironhide) is too small. This one be perfect, he can deal with the head

Thought I would have a dig through the old posts and found this fella.

Have any of the wonderful 3rd Party News Team ("ASSEMBLE!") done any digging on this recently?

:D

Seems these guys spend more time on knocking off Hasbro & 3rd Paty stuff rather than getting on and making their own stuff. What has happened to their Facebook page, Website, Weibo page?
No new updates for ages?

I was keen to get their Galvatron update/add-on kit but that seems to have died a death?

Come on X-Transbots, get on with it! ;)

I don't know, they seem to respond to facebook posts pretty quickly, but they don't always give a lot of info.

This was supposed to have come out in October. If it had a serious delay I suspect they will release in a month or two??? Just a guess. Hopefully that is the case.

I hope the quality on these guys are pretty good. I'm on the fence with the quality on Glider, but I hope these are a couple level better since they are so expensive.

According to Robotkingdom, this has been delayed to 1st quarter 2013. The Galvatron update, I understand has been scrapped.
