Xtransbots Glider Video Review

A review of the CHMS Xtransbots Glider has been posted YouKu, the Chinese equivalent of YouTube. Naturally the reviewer is speaking in Chinese, but we still get a nice look at the figure. This is an upsized and revised version of the JazaiToys Powerglide, not to be confused with the yet to be released SuperAlloy Powerglide Warrior, which is also an upsized version of JazaiToys Powerglide featuring a healthy dose of diecast. There is so much going on in the leg transformation, it is pretty amazing. Very impressed.

That seems to be the gist. No one's confirmed it for sure, last I heard, but all signs point to yes.

I like the figure, but I was hoping for them to hide the face. Transformation is very interesting, especially the cockpit sliding around to be put inside his chest.

I like how it's deluxe-sized. Don't get me wrong, I dig the Ultra class I have, but this one would look really nice with my collection......

I hope they do a Huffer too....

I dunno, it looks like an interesting figure and it's decently G1 accurate, but something about it looks off, like it needs a little updating or something. I dunno if it's too blocky or what, but it looks more like a cheap toy instead of a sweet action figure. I do like its scale, though.

I would assume since this is made by CHMS that it will be a KOtoys exclusive.

Is there any way to order this without going through KO Toys? I refuse to spend a penny with them.

Ace's Toy Store. Nice people, excellent service. They carry CHMS among other things. They don't carry the G1 bootlegs, such as combiners but they can special order them for you.

I don't like this,it's way too blocky & weirdly designed in both modes. it looks more like a takara scf pvc figure than a toy. i also don't like all the extra costume pieces all over the waist section.

the over sized head makes it look like a bobble head toy or a one of those super deformed gundam robots toys.

this is not for me.

I like the design (Jizaitoys), but I'm not big on the really washed-out looking colors or the cheap toy look of this. I'll gladly go for the other one instead.

Kind of a shame they didn't take a chance at improving the original design, they could have added a few pegs/peg holes here and there to make it a bit more stable and some joints should have been redesigned as well.
Still a very impressive piece and at least looks to have way tighter joints than the original JizaiToys figure.

This is an unlicensed copy of a previously licensed (by Takara)kit by an independent company.

I'm not getting into the niceties of this is legal or not but for Primus' sake! Is there no satisfying the so called experts?

Powerglide wasn't much of a looker. He's got a phallic shaped head with no actual feet(at least until he was animated in the show).

Jizai (the original manufacturers)did engineering wonders from the original Takara mini bot design. Given the limitation of the originals, that the figure managed to have an actual molded legs and feet deserves accolades. And all we are hearing that this is blocky, why wasn't it updated and all this schlock!

This was a G1 blocky as a brick design! What'd you expect? Jizai wasn't going for an update but a more robot like figure from the original brick he came from jeezzzzzzzzz!

Makes me wonder how this design could be implemented otherwise?

That looks very impressive. If it's a decent price I may have to get one.

My thoughts exactly. Nice upgrade but it needs more update.

For the folks who don't know - this mold is over 5 years old. It's not new. The creator (Jizaitoys) designed it to look like the G1 cartoon, which he did very well. It's not meant to be "Classics" version anymore than Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime. If you are disappointed - well you are barking up the wrong tree.

CHMS did a good job at keeping the joints tight. Looking forward to picking it up. Wonder if they'll offer a BadBoy repaint.

Too bad Takara wasn't keen at buying the rights and producing this themselves (they knew about the designs because they gave Jizaitoys a one day license to sell the figure).

What if you did know but were commenting on the figure as it stands anyhow? It might not be 'meant' for Classics, but that's where it would go for most who purchase it. That's where it would go if I purchased it so that's how I'm basing my opinion on it. If you think it's the greatest thing ever, awesome. It's okay not to love it too, though. >:oP

And FWIW, while JizzyToys may not have intended for it to be a Classics fig, I'm willing to bet that's exactly what CHMS had in mind when they KO'ed and up-sized it...
