Megatron I can understand, the wings and nerf gun transformation are off-putting at first glance, but to me the wings at least add a certain flare to an otherwise straightforward and predictable body shape, not to mention a face that doesn't look like an incontinent old man. Same goes for Classics Prime in most respects. The arm panels I think really add to the silhouette, and give a certain vibe toward his tough but defensive nature. Between Hegemon being about as boring looking as Megatron has ever been and Orion being a fat disproportionate mess, topped off with how undeniably crap the recently revealed Generations figures are, I think those two molds will be standing at the forefront of my collection for a long time to come.
CLASSICS VOYAGERS 4EVER!
i like toyworld quite a bit. but for hegemon, i dont really want a perfect G1 representation on my classics shelf. to me thats not what classics is about. and i dont know if classics megs is underated or not, but ive always loved that toy. even its silly purple and orange original. hes just fun to play with. and youre right, united is hands down the best. i had hasbros, then bought henkei. for the longest time i wrote off the united version thinking "bah, ive already got a proper colored megatron". but the united one is quite striking, enough to make me buy him a third time!leakin' lubricant wrote:I agree with this whole heartedly, I also dislike how the Toyworld offerings are replacing these fine molds, I boughts these upon their release and am yet to find a figure that can beat them, admittidly I did replace Classics Megs with the United repaint, which I feel is the best looking Megatron I have ever seen.

It's FunPub. It's their specialty.

There is one figure though that I seem to be the only champion for: Animated Lockdown.
He is not said to be bad but no-one really cares much for the guy. Or even that whole toyline while we are at it (especially now that no one will use that arcee as a stand in). But to me it is the Toyline with the most ingenius designs and engineering. I love how most of them seem like non transforming figures either in their robot or car modes and I love how the exagerated cartoon design is replicated in the toys. Leader Megatron is so simple to transform and yet bot his modes look like finished figures with minimal kibble from either mode.
And my favourite of that line is Lockdown, by far.

Shadowstream wrote:Actually I will: That stupid POS can only compete with energon fatumis prime, and I still think that was completely Toyworld's fault for screwing up an otherwise perfectly good design, and not that the design simply couldn't work in plastic form any other way.

I'm a big fan of that line as well, want both Lockdowns for my collection, also want RotF Lockdown.
Found a new fave figure of mine, the Jet Drone from the BM line. I know it's not very accurate, but its fun to play with.
I want that RotF Lockdown too, but that price is high and tells me that it cant be that underrated.

I'm still looking for Animated Lockdown.
It's clearly a well liked one, because eBay prices are silly.

Once in a blue moon the vintage shop near me gets a loose one and marks it at like, $8. I'll keep an eye out, sir! I owe you one.

The prices are only crazy for MISB. You can find loose complete ones for standard deluxe prices. Like this for instance: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transformers-Animated-deluxe-Lockdown-100-Complete-with-Instructions-/191240980353?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item2c86d9c781

I love Injector as well. Enough to have him both loose and sealed.

i get why nerf megs would be unpopular. silly colors and shell forming, but as i said it didnt bother me. i love that megs. tank megs was the let down for me. stupid spinney gun hand thing... but i actually grew to like that one. i ended up buying the united purple version (misb won on ebay for 9 bucks from a seller i was already buying stuff from) and after having him in hand again, hes not so bad.ZeroWolf wrote:Which classics Megatron? I disliked them both but Nerf Megatron was my target here.

See I've been after the henkei! version, the mold doesn't bother me that much, Iqquite like the idea of megs having wings. Though don't get me wrong, I'm getting the new leader one as well. Would of got the armada version if I didn't already have the armada Megatron

I appreciate the wings on Voyager Classics Megatron. They give a bit more credence to his ability to fly around like the rest of the Decepticons. If I picture a flying formation of Decepticons with Megatron and several seekers, it's much easier to imagine his Voyager Classics bot mode cruising along through the air than his G1 robot or worse yet, a giant Nerf gun.
