GL Paralax.jpg

try your luck and see if you can find a completed Parralax. One of the DC lines had a collect-a-part set where each toy has part of the completed unit.

On that note, I have a Sentinel and Galactus figure collected from compiled parts. It's really the only reason I bought most of those sets since I wouldn't otherwise have bothered with Dr. Strange or Black Panther.

The other 'random' figure would be a transforming Guymalef[sic] from Escaflowne. Transforms from Escaflowne to a dragon. Saw it and had to have it.
Next up on Pimp My Jeager.

For me it was the 12 inch Star Sheriff Jiban figure from the Tokosatsu Metal Hero series. I was casually surfing Ebay a few years back and came across this awesome figure from the 80's mint in box. It has electronic sounds and flashing eyes and tech detail, and has lots of chrome armor and a huge bazooka-like rifle. I could not resist.

Since it was made by Bandai and engineered along the same lines, I display it on my Joukuu B-Faito (Beetleborgs in the U.S.) shelf next to the other "12 figures.

Honestly, many of the things I'd be posting about in a thread like this are things that I barely even know the names of because they were impulse buys from a local hobby shop that don't have very much (if any) English writing on the boxes. In light of that, as well as my own laziness over the years to actually find out wtf I've bought in respectable detail, I "should" be including pics in my said post.

However in place of that (aka, getting back to my laziness), I'm just gonna say that one of em is a pink haired anime girl named Akira who's sitting on my computer monitor, and that another one is a shiny red mecha (possibly from some incarnation of the Brave series) that's got a really cool shield with the hilt of a sword sticking out of it.

... getting to stuff I actually know about, Reboot's Hexadecimal probably counts (although I'd like to get Hack, Slash, & Capacitor some day), and I guess so does the Ben10 Hyperalien Highbreed Vinyl figure. I bought one of em for my cousin, and then a week later decided to nab one for myself couse TRU had em on clearance for 12 bucks.

I bought a couple of my favorites from the MOTU line: He-Man, Skeletor, and Trap-Jaw.

At some point I will own a Lion Force Volton.

I try to keep my money focused on TF's as much as possible. If I start getting into other stuff, I will be in trouble.
Check out my collection!

Donkeys' years ago, maybe still in the 80's there was a "Rand" (I think) Robotech doll (Oops, I mean ACTION FIGURE) that I bought with my pocket money. He was a Cyclone Bike rider, and I assumed I would be able to find a Cyclone Bike to buy as well. Didn't happen.Pissed off, I painted him Silver, put him on a horse and had him lead my StarWars Doll (oops I mean ACTION FIGURE) army on raids against my Castle Greyskull (Counted as Jabbas Palace).

I think I buried that Rand somewhere in the garden.

I recently bought a G.I-Joe Pursuit Of Cobra Steel Brigade to go with my Transformers Hunt for the Decepticons Elita-One.

I was totally impressed at how detailed the figure is and that shitload of accessories he came with.

Both toys are perfectly in scale with each-others. The only fault is that the saddle of Elita-One's motorbike mode is just a tiny bit too large for a Joe. Still, the whole thing look great and I'm still totally impressed and satisfied by my very first G.I-Joe ever.

Have some pictures:

Image
Image

The problem with this whole thing is that I have a limited budget and mostly, limited room. All my room is dedicated to Transformers.
Still, this next bad boy is VERY tempting:

The G.I-JOE SKY STRIKER XP-21F Combat Jet
Image
Quite expensive at CAN45$+taxes meaning almost 52$ total at my local Zellers. They have around 14 of them perched completely on top of the shelf, out of reach of everyone. Should I wait for a sale? Should I buy it now?
I'm afraid that if I give in and buy it, I may pass a point of no return and begin collecting another toy line........

Do model kits count? I don't usually build these but there was something about Kotobukiya's Armored Core Aaliyah Krasnaya that made me buy it on sight.

Same thing with that Z.O.E. Anubis Jehuty.

I went toy hunting at a local thrift store last night. I just put my hands on this glorious bastard:
Tickle Me Elmo Special Edition from 2007. Only 6.80$ total.

He's very clean. His only fault is some most of the black of his eyes is gone in the middle of his pupils, and the batteries needed to be changed.

With fresh batteries, he's laughing his ass off like a madman! It was fun to see him freak out my cats!

That's a good find because That Elmo usually go for 20$ minimum on Ebay.
I like it. I don't know if I'll get rid of it by Ebay or something.
This little monster is growing on me. Maybe a little sharpie on his eyes might help. Or was it paint-pen?

This video is for when I activated Elmo for the first time ever. He's really funny. What's funnier is to see my cats react to it.

Look closely at my white female cat, Chippie. She's hilarious.

Yeah, not Youtube because I posted too much porn over there years ago and Youtube is not as forgiving as 4chan and it hold it's grudge FOREVER.

At another thrift store, I found CASTLE GRAYSKULL for only 9$!
The real thing from 1981!

Granted, everything that was removable except the main gate is gone. Still, I could always repaint the thing to make a killer backdrop for my Transformers Cyberverse figures or G.I Joe wars.

He's also my favorite X-Men villain, and I look a little bit like Cain Marko in the face (also the hair) and I have a broad chest and thick legs. So if I had the huge arms, I would kinda look like him. Also, I get destructive when I get pissed off, and not even an injury stops me until I calm down. (Doesn't happen often, I have developed a lot of patience just for this reason.) When I was younger I used to break doors and windows and punch walls and stuff. Basically, I threw a fit like a damn crybaby when I got pissed, and damage to property and myself ensued. So he's a bit special to me, I thought he should be represented on the shelf. Thing is, I bought him about a year ago, but I haven't removed him from the package, because I don't want to tarnish him in any way.

Also I have my tri-deco Sgt. Slaughter that's pretty cool, but I don't collect Joes either.

That's awesome. I really believe in finding similarities and for me, even comfort, in some of my favorite characters from various fictional worlds, i.e. Superman, Marvel's Gambit,Spider-Man, Nightcrawler etc. I bought a Marvel Select Gambit bc I found solace in the fact that Gambit struggled with his past which is something I struggle with. I don't look like him in anyway, but he's a cool character and a great figure. I also bought a couple of Snake Eyes figures.

On point with this thread; I also collect Thundercats figures and some Halo McFarlane figs as well.

I recently realized I was crazy about the French / Japanese cartoon Ulysses 31 when I was younger.
I downloaded all the episodes, and am watching them right now.
More importantly, I also found out that the shuttle used by Ulysses (La Navette d'Ulysse) was actually made into an incredibly cool toy by the French toymaker Popy. Due to the fact it was (most probably) only ever released in France, it's pretty hard to find, it's usually quite expensive, and due to the fact that large parts are made of die-cast and it contains rubber and small missiles, they are very prone to damage and loss of parts.

Image
(This one is actually not the one I own)

I was lucky enough to find a very good condition Navette d'Ulyyse on French eBay. And it is an amazingly cool toy!

Are you Québécois by chance?

I too, loved that series, even if it was quite silly at times.
I only had the last two episodes to watch before my last computer burned...

Anyway, great find!

Now, I do wonder if you know this little guy: Goldorak.

I was disapointed about the last Goldorak episode. Still, I have a bitchi'n 8" tall vinyl statue of him!

No, I'm not Québécois! I actually watched the English subbed version when I was I a kid in England (on BBC), but I believe the original language for the cartoon was indeed French (and Japanese), so it's no surprise that Québec TV also aired this.
I recently 'acquired' all 26 English-language-episodes on my computer in excellent quality, and I've been watching the first couple of those episodes. Not as epic as I remembered (of course!) but still fun.
Most of the Ulysse toys and figures (made by Popy) were only ever released in France, it seems, although some did make it to England. Not even sure if Japan ever received a toy-line.

Glad to see another Goldorak fan! I too, had downloaded and watched the whole series.
Two thing disapointed me: When a new cool and baddass character apperear, they always have to go all kamikase for no reasons so we can never hear of them again. Also, anti-climatic ending.

If you can manage to find a print of the original manga by Go-Nagai, you won't be dissapointed. I read them in french before I rewatched the anime. Maybe that's why I did not appreciated the anime as much as I expected.
Still, I just LOVE these action scenes with that 1970's soundtrack!

My daughter wanted a Boston Red Socks Nascar looking pedal car. I figured if she loses interest… I can hang it in the man cave. Also managed to find her the Skylanders "Lightning Rod" and "Warnado"

HEY SMOKETREADER!

Head on over to Toynami.com and they have a completely revamped Robotech line...INCLUDING a G.I. Joe-sized Rand with his cycle armor.

I recently stumbled across these myslelf, and after a couple hours perusing and hearing the theme song from the Macross Saga in my head, decided to dive in (telling myself hey, they "kinda" fit in with Transformers LOL).

They can be a little pricey, but no more so than a decent Voyager, let along a 3rd party fig. They have the Veritech V1, Alpha and Beta fighters, and some of the minor characters mechs already...

Motto: "Till All Are Pun!"
I am seriously considering getting a Bane figure, but am still unsure about which incarnation to settle for.

The Arkham version is glorious, but a bit too out there.
I quite like the Nolan one, but are there any good traditional ones around?
Any help?
