Finally the King arrived...I knew from all the pictures I've been looking at that he's a great transformer, but pictures just don't do him justice at all! Holding him and feeling the size and weight just put a smile on my face :D

The next question is to "Crazy Devy or not to Crazy Devy"...

Here are a few pics:

Awesome acquisition my man! I love the gold on this version. Certainly Preda-KING!! As for the CrazyDevy....I say do it if you want it, just please be careful if you get the wings, I'd hate to hear about another gorgeous Predaking falling victim to it.

Yeah, he's bloody terrific, my absolute favourite Transformer so far!

As to the Crazy Devy parts, I have read about the issues and will do a bit more reading before I decide - they are also Crazy (Devy)expensive. And I've always felt the wings were too big...that is, until every time I see pictures like this, and I catch myself drooling ever so slightly... :D

I have to admit, that's pretty damn epic. Are the wings the only CD upgrade you're considering? The hands seem a nice upgrade and the feet are supposed to add some height to him. Honestly the only one I've seen that is totally unnecessary is the head, IMO. What is it $40 for an LED and an identical head that has "gun barrels" on it?

I agree, the hands, feet and sword are nice additions that'll not change him too much. Not sure how much height you actually get from the feet addons though. To give him some height I do what I've seen others do and extend the legs on Tantrum and Headstrong.
The wings are VERY nice indeed, the shoulder cannons as well, but the head is a absolute no-go. The LED makes the whole head light up, not just the eyes and it looks very bad.

I will just have to see how much and how soon I'll commit to upgrading him now that Hercules also is burning a hole in my wallet :)

No doubt. Forgot about the shoulder cannons.... Hercules, man I was so anti Hercules when the prices were announced. But I caved, got an Exgraver, and cannot wait to throw whatever money they ask of me to complete him.

Do you have your figures displayed in a room? I notice you take great pics of your newest additions, but how do you display? Also, at the rate your collection is growing, how do you deal with the shelf space conundrum?

Thanks very much for your comment regarding the pictures - I don't have any home studio setup to work with, and as a novice amateur photographer I just try to capture the figures as best as I can in natural light.

At the moment I keep my collection displayed in two (quite cramped) Detolf cabinets in a corner of a room - the room has an angled roof, so the space for extra cabinets/shelves is limited. Don't want to put too much money into doing something more extravagant, as we're just staying in this house for two more years. I'll see if I can take a few pictures to show you the setup.

cool man, I'd like that. It's always interesting to see how other collectors overcome the space issue. My friend in Georgia loses sleep if he can't buy atleast 3 Transformers a week, but he is a MISB collector. He has Jenga piles of boxes! It's kinda sad. All those awesome figures, and no way to appreciate the ones hidden behind or under other boxes.... poor fella...

Three TF's a week would be nice, but I just don't have the storage space or the display space. Keeping every toy MISB, I just don't see the point of having them. My friend told me about a Norwegian collector he saw talking about his collection on national television - he had 3-4 of every figure and all of them was opened up :)

One small update today - I always liked HFTD Tomahawk, so I had to pick him up when I found him at half price today.

Today I've also done some rearranging in the Detolf cabinets as they had become way too crowded - pictures will follow.

Cabinets look great man! If I had the room, I'd display in nothing but those cabinets. Mine where cheap from Ikea, but I don't have the room! It sucks!

Completely forgot to thank you for the compliment - so thanks very much :) Yeah Detolf is a great display case, but they are not efficient at all if you place several figures on one shelf. I think I need to add soem sort of platform to elevate the inner most figures.

Collection update time:

IMG_5828.jpg
- I was lagging so I had to get ahead

IMG_5836.jpg

- HFTD seaspray purchased (no picture yet)

- Generations Wheeljack in the mail
- Generations Red Alert in the mail
- RTS Solar storm Grapple in the mail
- iGear Spray preordered
- iGear Rager preordered
- iGear PP03L Lightning preordered
- TFC Heavy Labor in the mail
- TFC Dr. Crank preordered
- TFC Structor preordered

I've become more reluctant towards Crazy Devy products, that is until I saw a Crazy Devy Predaking parts lot on Ebay. I completely caved (sigh) after seeing the price and bought the set consisting of CDMW-10, CDMW-11 and CDMW-14.

That's about it I think

Hurray!!!

The postman delivered two packages yesterday - Heavy Labor and a beautiful looking iGear PP03J Lightning (Masterpiece Thundercracker). I was completely beat after work yesterday, so any "photo session" was out of the question, but I'll see if I can take some today.

Ah...I finally pulled the trigger on a Unicron figure. I never really liked the Armada version, and the 2010 Takara Unicron is way too expensive - so it had to be the Amazon 25th anniversary Unicron. He arrived today at the hands of the postman, who seemed quite happy to be rid of the package

Hi drizztvinod, thanks for looking and commenting :)

Initially I hadn't payed the leader figure much attention, but when I saw this photo, something told me I had to try and find him:

2347038003_5aa2c0136c_b_resize.jpg

I have the Deluxe Brawl in storage atm and it's been a while since I transformed him, but to my recollection he has the same issues that you mention. I got mine off ebay in played with condition, so he might suffer because of that.

My Predaking has the upgraded wings, head and sword from Crazy Devy. The wings are massive, and he won't fit in the display case any more.

Some nice additions recently, and it's always good to see some Seeker love. It's a shame that the TRU Skywarps made it through QC with the warped nosecones though on top of the oversized missiles. I've only got Starscream from the TRU releases and those missiles really bug me.

Hello everyone, it's been a while. I've had a slight TF collecting hiatus, but I finally have some new stuff on the way:

G1 Tracks (loose figure)
Generations Scourge
Justitoys Masterpiece Megatron upgrade (finally, FINALLY found one)
TRU Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
Binaltech Skids

Now it's just waiting to see which one arrives first :)
