The latest announcement from TFCC about Botcon has and will continue to be a subject of much speculation amongst the fandom as discussions rage over which molds will be repainted into what and what we should expect in this new addition (Or should I say expansion?) to the TF universe. But that happens every year and once again, we find that this year will be no exception!
Those of us that grew up in the 90’s remember 2 Transformer lines. The revival of the US portion of the franchise that was Generation 2 and Beast Wars which many fans hold dear for its unique twist on transforming robots with the use of organic structures and blurring the lines of what we expected a robot to be. I also can’t forget to mention just how awesome the Beast Wars story was, but that’s not the point of this article.
Where exactly does Machine Wars fit into the 90’s? Besides the rather limited launch of the toyline, I believe it can be accepted by the fandom at large that we really have no idea where the story of Machine Wars fits into the franchise as we know nothing about it beyond what is given on the toys bios. Given that, I think that is a pretty good reason to see Machine Wars make its way to Botcon and possibly shed some light on their untold story.
Now let’s focus on the toys that Botcon 2013’s theme is now based on and hopefully fuel the excitement for our yearly pilgrimage to the convention. Machine Wars was a line that was entirely exclusive to the now closed Kay Bee Toy store consisting of 12 figures. 4 large sized figures were made that were repaints from previous molds used in the European G1 line. Despite his lack of an Optimus Prime head, the Thunderclash mold found itself bearing the colors of
Optimus Prime as well and
Sandstorm was given new life with the Rotorstorm mold.
For the large scale Decepticons we find ourselves with a
Starscream that is so wildly out of scale with the set that anyone who bases their collections on scale will most likely have an aneurism just by looking at him compared to the
Megatron of this line. However, those that fear GPS on their Euro-exclusive Skyquakes were able rejoice with Starscream by not having to worry about him crumbling to dust in their hands. We also get a unique take on
Soundwave which used the Predator Stalker mold.
And lastly, the line is rounded out with 8 basic sized figures using 4 unique molds which were originally intended to be part of the G2 line up, but found themselves cancelled during the switch to Beast Wars. However, we can most likely give a nod to these molds as being the ones that helped spur the engineering of much of the early Beast Wars that used the flip changing technology in which the simple pull of a lever was all that was needed to turn a robot into his disguised mode. For the Autobots we have
Hoist,
Hubcap,
Mirage, and
Prowl. And the Decepticon basics received
Megatron, his clone
Megaplex,
Skywarp, and
Thundercracker.
Until recently, the 12 figures that made up this line have almost faded away into the darkest corners of Cybertron’s archives, but with Botcon now approaching us along with the inevitable figure reveals, it’s time to go back and take a look at these relatively unknown and somewhat mysterious figures. As a proud owner of a complete Machine Wars collection, I can genuinely say that I am excited to see the direction that Botcon is taking this year by giving the Machine Wars a story that goes beyond just the bio cards found on the 12 toys. Please feel free to take the time to look around
Seibertron’s galleries and take a look at some figures that you either may have not seen before or didn’t pay much attention to until now.

Seibertron.com is proud present another Transformers holy grail from
Super God Masterforce,
G1 Overlord! He's always been in high demand among G1 collectors, but his popularity rose to new heights after appearing as the sadistic lead villain in IDW Publishing's fan favorite comic series
Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers. Overlord recently received the Classics treatment in this year's BotCon "Invasion" box set as
Gigatron, a repaint/retool of
ROTF Voyager Class Bludgeon, which featured a new head inspired by his appearance in the aforementioned
Transformers: Last Stand of the Wreckers comic. Full galleries of Overlord and his two Godmasters (aka Powermasters)
Giga and
Mega can be found below. Enjoy!

Shortly after Hasbro's Transformers brand panel on July 12th, 2012 at San Diego Comic-Con, Seibertron.com's owner Ryan Yzquierdo had an opportunity to interview Hasbro's Jerry Jivoin (Marketing Director of Global Brand Development) and Aaron Archer (VP Creative Director, Brand design IP creation). Jerry and Aaron are well known to Transformers fans around the world. The audio from this interview will be included in our next
Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast early next week. In the meantime, I did my best to transcribe the audio for all of you to read. Without further ado, here's Seibertron.com's interview with Hasbro.
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "What can you tell us about Takara Tomy exclusive figures such as Unicron, Breakdown? Are they going to stay exclusive to Japan?"
Hasbro / Jerry Jivoin: "We don't have plans right now really. This is the second time this question has come up. We're definitely evaluating those and one thing that we're trying to do is that you saw with the Year of the Dragon edition Optimus Prime and the China exclusives that we're bringing over to Toys R Us is we recognize that Takara Tomy is working on great stuff that's being released and we want to bring stuff over to the fans here so rather than paying $200 on eBay ..."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Yeah, I just dropped $70 on those Legends class toys [from Asia]."
Hasbro / Jerry: "I'd rather us get those into a store and sell it here. All that kind of stuff we're looking at. We don't have any plans right now but not to say that we wouldn't do it."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Then again with the Takara Masterpieces, it seems like the smaller scale might be more appealing to American retailers such as Walmart and Target. Are you working with Takara on that or is that too far down the road?"
Hasbro / Aaron: "No we work with them on concept with "here's the next one we're thinking about", "what do you think?" so we do discuss it even though we know on the offset that it's for their market. Doing the smaller cars has helped but it's really about the market for Jerry. Do we do a non-connected high end item as an exclusive or where does it fit?"
Hasbro / Jerry: "The other thing with Sideswipe too is we have to get the Lamborghini license, which they have, which they were able to secure for the Japanese market. We have not [secured that]. If we're going to do that, we're going to need to approach Lamborghini and setup a licensing deal with them to do that. But we've seen them, we love them, we'd love to bring them to the US, there's no plans exactly yet but Masterpiece will continue. You've got Optimus Prime and Thundercracker this year, so we definitely see the value in bringing them over because fans love them."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the new pictures from Takara is basically this is Hasbro's answer to Mattel with their Masters of the Universe Classics line which has the perfect epitome of all of those characters. That's what I [thought] when I saw that. What can you tell me about the shared exclusive G2 Bruticus set? You guys really went all out with that package so much so that I don't think I've seen you guys put that much work into an Amazon.com or BigBadToyStore.com exclusive before. Was that at one point going to be a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive?"
Hasbro / Jerry: "You know the package, we wanted to make it something special because we realize "hey, you can buy Bruticus in the main line in the deluxe format, we're selling him here at Comic-Con as an exclusive, and we wanted to make it special. We didn't just want to do a redeco and put it in a general package. This was an opportunity to really do something unique with this item. And a lot of it goes to our packaging creative group and art directors. They really had a lot of fun."
Hasbro / Aaron: "They challenged themselves. They went above and beyond, not that we didn't want that. The brief was the brief but they certainly did extra work to take it to a much finer point than may have seemed necessary at the beginning."
Hasbro / Jerry: "They surprised us when they showed it. They had a lot of passion for it. They just dove into it and replicated everything."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Please thank whoever. That's awesome I think. Looking at the size of some of the other items that are with the Marvel or G.I. Joe brands, you've got the giant heli-carrier for Marvel, I feel like Transformers is getting the short end of the stick as far as big products. Someone mentioned about Omega Supreme, Metroplex, Fort Max ... some of those big guys ... is there a chance of getting some love for some of those guys?"
Hasbro / Aaron: "I think that we recognize that those other groups have done that and even some other companies have. You know, $300 items, $400 items, in the market place not just for collectors or [conventions]. So it makes sense for us to look at that so we're starting that process because we do have big characters."
Hasbro / Jerry: "And I think you see with Bruticus and having that ..."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Well then you have the 3rd party companies coming out with the big figures and I know that's a sore spot."
Hasbro / Aaron: "(sarcasm) Not familiar with that."
Everyone: (laughs)
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "It's obvious that Transformers fans have lots of money to spend when it comes to this stuff. I'd rather give you guys the money than somebody else."
Hasbro / Jerry: "We appreciate that."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Alright, one more question. Recently Hasbro trademarked "Transformers Combiners". Is that for the Kre-o line or is that for another future product line that you guys have coming down the ropes?"
Hasbro / Jerry: "Probably for Kre-o. We have our combiners from like the Bruticus combiners from Generations but it's probably from the Kre-os and Kreons that we showed today with those combiners. But it's probably specifically for them."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Alright, one more. With the success of some of the big brands that Hasbro owns such as Transformers, G.I. Joe, ... My Little Pony apparently now, is there any discussion within Hasbro of maybe doing an equivalent of a Hasbro-Con or something to that effect?"
Hasbro / Aaron: "A lot of people bring that up, not at Hasbro, just people bring that up. And some at Hasbro. Not yet."
Hasbro / Jerry: "I think between the conventions and Toy Fair, like our collector day at Toy Fair, BotCon, JoeCon ..."
Hasbro / Aaron: "What's great about BotCon and JoeCon is that it's targetted conversation exactly about your brand to the people that care most about the brand. It's an ability to take all that information that goes out around the world."
Seibertron.com / Ryan: "Which we appreciate. I would not be a big fan of going that route just seems like a possibility as these brands keep getting bigger and bigger."
Hasbro / Aaron: "There could be risk of taking away that intimacy in doing that though the Hasbro mark is cool too though. It's not like the fans cross polinate all the time."
Thank you again to Jerry Jivoin and Aaron Archer at Hasbro for taking some time out of your very busy and hectic SDCC schedule to answer some questions for Seibertron.com. We really appreciate it!

Fellow Seibertronian cybershark-1 is selling his Grand Maximus. This is your chance to get it! Seibertron.com's gallery of Grand Maximus will be going up soon. Get it now before the fandom gets counterpunched!

cybershark-1 wrote:BEST GRAND MAXIMUS ON EBAY IVE EVER SEEN!!
Transformers Generation One Japanese Exclusive Super God Masterforce Autobot Cybertron Headmaster Base GRAND MAXIMUS MIB C-9.5+ box is Near Mint and toy is Mint, Complete with styrofoam inserts, Instructions, UNapplied labels, biocards, and all accessories including Headmaster mini figure GRAN(Spike), large Headmaster figure GRAND (Cerebros), Grand's Pretender shell, the GRAND Sword, and ONOMISU +KOKA (Gasket and Grommet) which combine to form COG.
Main Robot:
This is a Generation One Japanese EXCLUSIVE re-color of Fortress Maximus coming with Extra Unreleased parts such as 2 extra swords and a large Pretender shell for Grand to fit inside of. The toy measures at almost 2 feet in height. And it is considered one of the "Holy Grails" of Transformer collecting!! Especially in a box this Solid and Nice. It is definitely AFA Quality and if sent in could probably rate the highest of any graded Grand Maximus.
Accessories:
Complete with GRAN Headmaster (Spike), GRAND Large Headmaster (Cerebros), Grand's PRETENDER Shell (Exclusive to this piece). ONOMISU and KOKA (Gasket and Grommet) which combine to form COG, the MASTER BLADE (small sword, exclusive to this piece), the GRAND BLADE (Giant sword, exclusive to this piece), the Dual Laster Cannon, the Proton Master Rifle, Cogs gun, Grands gun, and Scanner/radar piece, UNAPPLIED Label sheet, Instructions and Biocards.
History:
Hi, This GRAND MAXIMUS I bought directly from a seller in Japan in the mid 90's when I received it, it was MISB but for some reason I opened it. I just had to take a peak at what it looked like inside. Other then that, its only been opened to take these pics now!! The toy is unplayed with, untouched, Everything is NEW. the box on this Grand Maximus is also the NICEST I HAVE EVER SEEN!! Whether it be Ebay or at ANY toy shows I have attended!! It is easily a C-9.5+ (I would grade it even higher at a 9.8 like most sellers would but Anybody can find fault with even a mint box out of a factory) Having only 2 small issues as seen in the pics. Just look at the pics of it opened, NOTHING HAS BEEN REMOVED!! The box is extremely sturdy and square the whites hold up and are not faded ANYWHERE!! It was also stored in a non- smoking temperature controlled environment. The COLORS ARE PERFECT, NO FADING!! Just like new!!Any off colors or spots in picture are from the flash only as I had to use my cell phone for pics!! It does have 1 small crumple on the top left hand side back portion of the box- this is the largest of the issues, and it has an even smaller crumple on the top front right hand side of the box with a small sort of "peel" to it, otherwise the box is AMAZING!! ALL Contents Inside are MINT!!and UNTOUCHED!! Also the sticker sheet is UNAPPLIED!! How often do you see that on a Grand Maximus?? YOU DONT!! However the label sheet does have a Crease running through it from whenever it was boxed up at the factory. It is as it was when I opened it years ago, it was folded. So I unfolded it and have it laying flat against the INSIDE portion of the styrofoam lid that sits on top of Grand Maximus!! This can be seen in the pics!! So here is your chance to own the BEST boxed version of a Grand Maximus I have Ever seen on Ebay!! I have seen a few MISB ones sell but even they have not had boxes this nice. And I have been collecting for over 22 years!! Another Grand Maximus just sold in an Ebay auction last week in an inferior box with stickers applied for $4526 here is that link or look it up under "completed listings":
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?siteid=0&pub=5574891718&campid=5336631220&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com%2Fws%2FeBayISAPI.dll%3FVi%20...%20416wt_1396%3C%2Fa%3E%26
That grand Maximus had been used and had applied stickers etc. MINE HAS NOT!!!
Here is your chance to get the closest thing to a "new" Grand Maximus as you will likely EVER get!! Dont let this pass you up!!

Transformers OVERLORD in Hasbro UK box with ENGLISH TEXT + unused labels in US

kronos-prime. You can view all of this seller's items by clicking

kronos-prime wrote:Item: Transformers Hasbro Decepticon foreign exclusive OVERLORD complete with all accessories and instructions in Hasbro UK box featuring English text in US
Description:
Box general:
- Overall looks great with good color and gloss.
- This piece is probably as close as Hasbro ever came to releasing a "US" version of this incredible toy. Overlord was of course never released in the US.
Box front:
- Upper left hand corner is crumpled with a half-inch long tear and some wear.
- Mild dent/bend on upper right hand side plus bottom of the lower left hand edge.
Box back:
- PLEASE NOTE: I didn't include a picture of the back of the box just in case the winning bidder by chance wanted the contents of the background story and the tech-specs to remain a "surprise" of sorts, seeing as how they are in English.
- Mild scuffing.
- Upper right hand corner is crumpled with creases plus a dent just above the center of the same side.
Box side one:
- Lower right hand corner has a bent tip with wear.
Box side two:
- Top edge is bent with crease and wear.
Styrofoam:
- Complete with brace pieces.
- Overall looks great.
Main robot and accessories:
- PLEASE NOTE: The toy included in this auction is the Takara version. The only difference between the Takara and UK versions of Overlord is the shade of the purple plastic on the toy/accessories (the blue also might be a slightly different shade but to be honest I can't remember). Otherwise they are exactly the same.
- Complete with all accessories.
- The legs on the mini Energon figures (Powermasters, or as they were called in Japan Godmasters Mega and Giga) are slightly loose, but otherwise they look great.
- Everything looks great.
Paperwork:
- Includes the original UK instruction booklet. It's a little worn but is still intact.
- Also includes unused unapplied label sheet. The label sheet is in great shape.

Jim Sorenson (jms98!) wrote:OK, now, this is an interesting one. When Bill and I were trying to sell the book of Transformers animation models that would eventually become Transformers: The Ark, we created these pitch documents to hand out to editors at IDW and to folks at Hasbro. I stumbled across three, and thought that there might be some interest. These are unique items, part of the process of how a book gets made and sold, and I'd love to see them find their way to good hands. You get one of the three items, they're all identical. Seibertron.com's Transformers and more wrote:This item is mint-on-card. It has been removed from the package. Double Punch has some minor paint chips as well as some wear to the toy and minor sticker wear, typical of this particular toy and of a toy of this age. The "arm-flailing"/attack mechanism on his back randomly makes the right arm work. The left arm no longer moves when the button is pushed. A small, barely noticeable polyband was wrapped around the inside of the upper left shoulder joint to increase friction so that the arm can be posed (it used to loosely drop down). These issues are pretty typical of loose specimens of this figure. This item is a very nice display piece as you can see from the pictures below. If you have questions, please let me know. Thanks!

This is the famous Blue Cliffjumper released by IGA in Mexico.
Some of these Mexican releases were located here in Holland.
Why is not known. So the chance to find this one in this condition is unique.
First the bubble:
The bubble is firmly attached to card.
It is super bright.
There is a crack on the right side of the bubble as can be seen in picture 3.
Then the card:
It is super clean.
It is bright....no fading!
No big scratches or something. (I would have shown that with a pic)
It is not completely flat...there is what I call: a little "wave" in the card.
All original stuff, I do not sell or collect reissue or KO stuff,
and I never will cause its all fake in my opinion.

Here's your chance to impact which galleries you see right here on Seibertron.com in the next month or two. Thanks to my new camera that I bought at the beginning of 2012, I'm plowing through galleries at record speed (I've added almost as many galleries in the first six months of this year as I did all of last year). I'm torn on where I should turn my focus next so I thought I'd ask all of you to see which set of
vintage galleries you'd like to see me work on next when I'm not working on new galleries (which always take precedent).
Without further ado,
click here to vote and tell us which set of galleries YOU would like to see next. The choices you'll get to vote on are as follows:
- BotCon 1994 Breakdown and BotCon 2004 Breakdown
- Grand Maximus, Black Zarak, and Scorponok
- Metroplex, Trypticon, Gigastorm, and Metrotitan
- UK Exclusive Action Master Elites, Turbomasters, and Predators
- Computron, Abominus, Defensor, and Liokaiser
- Overlord, Fangry, Horri-Bull, Squeezeplay, Hosehead, Nightbeat, and Siren
These galleries are all game changers for my collection. Will you get to see me bust open a mint-on-sealed-card BotCon 1994 G2 Breakdown? Will my Black Zarak suffer from gold plastic syndrome? Will I apply the stickers to Metrotitan? Will I open up my remaining sealed UK exclusives? Will I apply the stickers to the gestalts that haven't gotten the gallery treatment? Will I apply Overlord's stickers and transform him for the very first time? The next batch of vintage galleries are up to you to decide!
The choices are pretty awesome for fans of vintage Transformers toys.
Make sure you vote in this poll!
