New G1-styled Frenzy / Rumble Prototype Toy

Is it official or fanmade?

We'll have to wait for more information to see, but BASE XO comes up big again, this time finding a prototype image for a new transforming toy (robot mode only pic). This toy's robot mode closely resembles the Soundwave cassettebots, Rumble and Frenzy, as you can see from the head and chest designs. Unfortunately what Frenzy/Rumble transforms into is yet unknown at this time.

Is this a new Device Label component? Frenzy and Rumble were already made for the music label line, so maybe not. Universe line toy? Or another Impossible Toys winner like their upcoming G1 Arcee?

RUMOR: Meeting at Nemesis Soundwave... Now Sold Separately?

GenZhao at KO Toys, has recently got his hands on something a little strange. As you may (or may not) know, a blue Transformers Revenge of The Fallen Soundwave figure is to be sold in the Meeting at Nemesis three pack, revealed at Botcon this year. If you click here, we can see the Soundwave figure packaged entirely by itself.



GenZhao also writes this in his posting:

Here is a picture of a MOSC ROTF BLUE SOUNDWAVE TRU EXCLUSIVE, it is on a regular soundwave card (the picture of soundwave on the back is not the blue soundwave but the original grey soundwave)

It's recommended you take this with a grain of salt, as it could be anything from a pre-production mistake, to an actual release seen in some part of the world.

Tom Kenny to voice a character in Revenge of the Fallen

The LA Times have posted an article about a recent visit to one of Michael bay's editing studios.

While doing a good job at only giving brief run-downs of the scenes previewed (many of which have been glimpsed in part in the various trailers), there are still spoilers a plenty regarding both characters and storyline, so be warned if you are trying to remain spoiler free.

Bay revealed to the Times two voice actors providing character voices for Revenge of the Fallen, while one: Frank Welker is already public knowledge, the other Tom Kenny (Transformers Animated Starscream) is a new name to be associated with the film. While not stating which character they will be playing, Welker has been more or less confirmed as playing Soundwave, there has been no comment on whose voice/voices Kenny will be providing.

Bay also talks about the casting of main characters Sam and Mikaela, and how the cast has grown closer as a result of the first film.

TF08 is at it again with more pictures of the rumored unreleased Soundwave figure that we have seen in recent weeks.

This time the pictures are pretty clear and shows off the size of the figure as well as a few other traits, like Soundwaves head, or having normal fists and not crazy claws, hooks or blenders.

Until TF08 watermarks their images, we will not be posting the pictures here in the news.

Yizhi521 of TF08.net has posted yet another, and this time slightly clearer, photo of what appears to be the "Revenge of the Fallen" Soundwave figure. In this new image, you can clearly see three orbs on his chest as well as the "grill" form and "lights" on his stomach that ressemble those seen on the supposed Soundwave concept design leaked earlier. Though writer Roberto Orci specifically stated that Soundwave is not a pickup truck, there does seem to be some connection between this figure's design and the leaked Soundwave "truck" design.

TF08.nets yizhy521 has updated his thread with new clearer images of the possible Movie Soundwave figure.

He seems to have taken size comparison images with what seems to be a box of cigarettes or a trading card deck holder. He also confirms in one post that it is in fact a satellite.

Thanks to yizhi521 of TF08.net we have our first photos of what appears to be the "Revenge of the Fallen" Soundwave figure.

The photos are blurry, and it is difficult to determine if it is indeed Soundwave (reported to be a satellite) - or if it is even a ROTF figure, but the design aesthetic fits.

With recent news from our inside source that Soundwave would be a satellite for at least part of the movie, then a rumor that he would be s pickup truck for part of the movie --which was then stated false by Robert Orci-- a new picture of a movie Soundwave design has surfaced.

Is this an actual picture? Or a fan made model? Supposedly this comes from a source at wforum.com, a chinese news site, but there is no direct link to its source.

So, this one should be easy to deny as true with the source being very shaky, and the idea that the pickup truck was said to be false by Robert Orci. The battle of the movie rumors continues.

Enjoy the image of Ravage and Soundwave regardless.

Seibertron.com has once again received some new information regarding "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", currently scheduled for release on June 26th 2009. Our source wishes to remain anonymous but is reliable.

Please be warned that this information contains many huge spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled, do not read any further.





- As mentioned before, Soundwave's alternate mode is a satellite. Our source, however, cannot personally confirm the other reported rumour of Soundwave also turning into a pickup truck.

- Our source confirms the recently reported rumour that Optimus Prime will combine with Jetfire.

- Ravage uses biological warfare against the humans.

- Jetfire can create wormholes.

- Scorpinok will return.

- Our source does not know if the three "Arcee" motorbikes seen in the Wal-Mart exclusive video combine to form Arcee or not - but our source does tell us that the Arcee bikes have not been on set for months, leading to speculation that the character may die early on in the film. CLARIFICATION: Many fans are assuming this could be misleading because the movie is filmed out-of-sequence. While this may be true for most movies, The action scenes for "Revenge of the Fallen" have, for the most part, been filmed in chronological order. The first was filmed in Bethlehem, PA (confirmed by "The Morning Call" - Bethlehem newspaper) and the film's climactic sequence filmed recently at White Sands (confirmed by our source and other on-set reports)

Seibertron.com has received information from an anonymous, but reliable, source regarding the much-debated alternate mode for the Decepticon Soundwave in the Transformers movie sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Transformers Universe Special Editions?

Pictures of two new, so far as yet unmentioned repaints have been posted by ACToys user Comus.

These repaints are of the recently released Optimus Prime and Megatron from the Classics Ultimate Battle two-pack. Both repaints are more faithful to their G1 selves, but that is not the only difference for these figures.

The packaging features black and white art of the characters on matte black boxes, more alike to the recently released Music Label Soundwave and Frenzy Rumble, than anything previously seen in the Classics/Universe line.
Silver text on the boxes indicate that these two figures are "Transformers Universe Special Edition 01" and "Transformers Universe Special Edition 02".

To add further intrigue, both boxes preview yet another character to be released in this "Special Edition" series, "SE-03 Dragstip (a repaint of Classics Mirage), and SE-04 Overkill (a repaint of Classics Grimlock), both in similar black and white character art.

Teletraan-1 Wiki has a few unused concept images by Don Figueroa for a Classics Soundwave. These concept designs probably had an influence on the Transformers Animated Soundwave since both figures have similar designs even though the styling between the two are different.

An interesting thing to note is that Soundwave's trunk contained a pretty spiffy soundsystem, which likely would have opened as his chest in robot mode.

The new issue of the official Transformers Collector's Club Magazine is arriving in mailboxes everywhere, and unfortunately it contains some news that some may consider unsavory...

According to sources who have received the magazine, the much anticipated Seacons set will not be available in April as was first suggested, but looks to be delayed until a June or july time frame.

A very reliable source, Brian Savage, says that this is due to packaging issues, and not problems with the actual toys' production.

On a positive note, the magazine does include some information about characters in the Wave 2 and Wave 3 lineups of Animated, and of course the assortment of other goodies, including the continuation of the Transtech comic.

Toysdaily.com has posted images of new 2 packs soon to be released. Not many details are known about these, like where they will be release, if they are exclusive, or even how much they will cost.

What we do know is that one 2 pack will have Classics Jetfire and Classics Grimlock in it. The other will have Classics Optimus Prime with his repainted brethren, Classics Ultra Magnus.

In addition, both boxes come with flip up pictures, similar to Classics Soundwave.

We will keep you posted as soon as more details are released.

If you have not picked up Music Label White Soundwave yet, you may want to before he sells out or you may miss out. According to XL Toys the second run for Music Label White Soundwave has been cancelled by TakaraTomy. Instead TakaraTomy will release a black version of Music Label Soundwave. There will still be a second run for the blue version. Both the second run of the blue version and the black version should be released in November. Howard Stern turned down chance to be in the Transformers Movie?

According to Darkhorizons.com, Howard Stern was asked to make a cameo in the Transformers Movie and to use his voice for the boombox character, Frenzy (note, it says Soundwave). Also note, he was not actually asked to voice Frenzy himself, the Transformers Movie crew just wanted to use his voice while Frenzy is in his boombox mode to add realism to the film.

Here is what the article has to say:

Radio shock jock Howard Stern was asked to lend his voice to the upcoming "Transformers" movie but had to turn it down at his agent's request.

In one scene Soundwave, a robot who takes the form of small consumer electronic devices, will appear as a radio which was supposed to briefly sprout Stern's voice.

According to Stern on his Monday radio show, he was contacted a week ago in a letter asking him to be in it, but "My agent gets a hold of me. It's almost like he shakes me up and smacks me. I said to him: This movie, The Transformers, it could be a really big movie. And he goes 'So, it won't be because of you, because your f'n voice is on the radio. I thought it might be kinda cool but my agent said 'you don't want to be in the movie as an f'n voice on the radio. And I said, you know, you're right."

Rodimus VTS of Tfans.com has reported recently sending an email to Hasbro asking about when the Toys "R" Us exclsive Commemorative Edition Soudwave would finally be on store shelves. Rodimus VTS has reported recieving a reply from Hasbro and here it is:

The G1 Soundwave has just started shipping and is sold exclusively at Toys R Us. Please check with your local Toys R Us store or visit their web site at http://www.toysrus.com for availability.

Because this could be a mistake on the person who replied to Rodimus VTS, this is only a rumor at this time.

A new image of the upcoming Toys "R" Us Exclusive Transformers Classics Reissue Soundwave has surfaced at Visualmedia.com. The image was taken at a store in China. There is no mention as to which store the picture was taken at.
