Big Toys"R"Us Transformers sale in Portugal and Spain

We'd like to thank Seibertron.com member capellamusic for letting us know about a great Christmas sale that Toys"R"Us is holding in Portugal and Spain.

I thought I should share that Toys"R"Us on Portugal and Spain is making a Xmas sale until December 13th. This time, although it's the same chain of TRU for both countries, the Xmas sales vary.

On Portugal the main Transformers sales are: Movie ROTF Legends for 4.99 euros, Animated Deluxe for 7.99 euros and the best one is Animated Voyager for 9.99 euros. I've gone to Gaia's TRU and bought 3 Animated Voyagers (Blitzwing, Grimlock and Bulkhead) for 29.97 euros.

For spain the best sales I saw on the catalog was Movie ROTF Leader for 42.99 euros and if I understood well there's an offer limited to the first 1500 people who spend at least 50 euros on Transformers, getting for free a transforming Optimus Prime Movie DVD. Not sure which of the movies it is though, but I wish they also did that on my country, but I can't complain on Animated Voyagers for 9.99 euros.

Movie Bumblebee Prop Appears in Sydney, Australia

Bumblebee show's up in Sydney, Australia, or to be precise, Paramount's prop of him, for a promotional event with the DVD and Blu-Ray disk release of Transformers Revenge of The Fallen, in Australia. In addition to the prop, some concept art of a few things in the film were also shown. The familiar prop of the movie's star looms over the people in the images which can be seen here.

Orci & Kurtzman say lack of time kept them out of TF3

With Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray and DVD discs flying off the shelves this week, Michael Bay's live action Transformers movie franchise shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. Of course, it won't be long at all before the attention shifts off of ROTF and further onto Transformers 3.

Right now there's very little that we DO know for sure about TF3. Of course, we do now know the official release date of the film, which is July 1st, 2011.

As we reported a few weeks ago, the other big piece of information so far has been the announcement that writers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who worked on the first two films have decided not to return for the third.

IGN.com recently interviewed Orci and Kurtzman and of course that topic did in fact come up.

Below is an excerpt from the interview.

IGN: Why did you decide not to do Transformers 3?

Kurtzman: I think it was largely a matter of the fact that we have a couple other movies on their feet and some television things happening now, and didn't feel we could responsibly do it and give it what it needed. Cowboys & Aliens is a very full time job right now and we should be focusing on that, because it took awhile to get it on its feet.

Orci: And the second one we didn't think we could responsibly do, and that's why we were so happy to team up with Ehren Kruger, who was amazing. This time, I think even teaming up with him, we wouldn't be able to give him what would be fair. And it's really a matter of time, but again, the best idea should win, and they need an idea now. We don't have one right now, so…

IGN also asked the two writers about the controversial Skids and Mudflap characters as well as about many other topics including Star Trek, Xena and Fringe.

Details on Transformers: ROTF DVD and Blu-ray releases in the UK

Today is obviously a big day for many Transformers fans as Revenge of the Fallen has finally hit store shelves here in the US. However, some countries are getting ROTF a bit later and will see different versions than those in the states will.

With that in mind, Seibertron.com member Starfish provided us these details on ROTF's release date in the United Kingdom along with some info about the various editions that are being offered.

DETAILS OF UK RELEASES

For those interested in the UK release, here's the lowdown:

The UK release date is 30th November 2009, these are the versions:

2-disc DVD (mass retail). Same as the mass-retail US version.

1-disc DVD (mass retail). Just the first disc from the 2-disc set, packaged on its own in a 'budget' version.

2-disc Blu-ray (mass retail). Same as the US mass-retail version.

4-disc box set (mass retail). The two-disc versions of both Michael Bay Transformers films, packaged together. This is available on both DVD and Blu-ray

Store Exclusives:

Obviously the release date is still a month away in the UK, so there may be more information to come out between now and the release date. However, two exclusives are confirmed:

HMV exclusive: The transforming Bumblebee box. Avalable to pre-order now from the HMV website.

Amazon.co.uk exclusive: 3-disc set (DVD & Blu-ray). The third disc contains a digital copy of the film, enabling you to transfer it onto your iPod or other such device.

That's all for now. I have checked the websites of other retailers (such as Play, for example) and can see no sign of any other UK exclusives. Of course, as I say, it may still be a bit too early yet.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen wins 3 SPIKE "Scream" awards

As we first reported in early September, SPIKE TV is airing its 4th Annual "Scream" awards on Tuesday, October 27th at 10PM PST/EST. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as you might suspect drew heavy consideration when nominations were decided and was actually nominated in 11 different categories.

Can't wait to know how many it won? Well, you don't have to.

The actual awards show was taped last night, and ROTF did very well, earning 3 awards. Megan Fox won for "best sci-fi actress", Isabel Lucas won for "breakout performance - female" and the movie itself was deemed to have the best special effects.

What you need to know: Revenge of the Fallen DVD Exclusives

As we all know, unless you've been living in a cave, the Revenge of the Fallen film was released in theatres this summer, and that means it's subsequent DVD release is approaching. We now overlook the date, as the DVD release is set for this Tuesday, October 20.

Now most of you are probably not anticipating the DVD or Blu-Ray versions of the film, but are more intrigued with what else you are getting with it! We're talking about DVD exclusives that each retailer carry, and it's been a hot topic the past month or so. After looking at what is available out there, I've decided to compile a list of exclusives, so you, me, and the common Transformers fan does not end up having 6 copies of the film.

Before we get going with the exclusives, here is what most retailers are getting in terms of special editions.

ROTF to Receive Midnight Release at Best Buy

The DVD and Blu-Ray disk release of Transformers Revenge of The Fallen will be available at 12:01AM, at more than one-hundred Best Buy stores, when they are usually closed, next Tuesday. Both versions of the film will be marked down two to three dollars, as well as other events may occur at participating Best Buy stores. Fellow TF fansite TFormers has managed to get an exclusive round table discussion with the minds and faces behind Transformers Revenge of The Fallen.

In the discussion they talk about voice-acting and the contents of the upcoming home video releases of the movie, like a game that lets you create your own Transformer. The group also claims that among the DVD contents will be an 'easter egg' in the form of a video featuring director Michael Bay. This video claims to be a bit of a spoiler for the next installment of the Transformers movie franchise, a very large rumor generator, if you will.

ShootfortheEdit offering RotF Blu-Ray Steelbook to American Consumers

We recently showed you the contents of the Future Shop Revenge of the Fallen Blu-Ray Exclusive Steelbook. Future Shop is a retailer in Canada, and it's branch in the United States goes by the company name of Fye. Future Shop will only be carrying the Blu-Ray steelbook, while Fye will have the DVD Steelbook exclusive. The predicament is that Future Shop does not ship internationally, leaving American Blu-Ray collectors, specifically Blu-Ray & Transformer collectors in the States with unhappy results. However, Nelson of Shootfortheedit, the forums for Michael Bay's website, is trying to help out the American fanbase.

Here's what he has to say.

Just got word that the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Blu-ray SteelBook (below) will only be available in Canada via Future Shop (the DVD SteelBook will be available in the US via Fye). And Future Shop doesn't ship abroad.

ESPN & NASCAR and ROTF Contest. Win a signed copy of ROTF DVD!

MegatronSRT8 brings us news that NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman are going to be running special paint schemes at the race on October 17th, in Charlotte NC to promote the release of ROTF on DVD and ESPN is running a contest where you can win a copy ot the DVD signed by Megan Fox, or a trip to the NASCAR Championship weekend and meet both drivers.
