Re: Transformers: Legends Mobile Device Game Updates

:BOT: EPISODE DURATION: May 24th - May 31st 2013

With his superior missing in action and presumed dead, Starscream has stolen the Exponential Generator from Doctor Arkeville, and plans to use it to destroy the Earth and harness the energy to restore Cybertron! With the help of Ironhide, Sideswipe and Red Alert, you must seek and attack Starscream and his minions, before time runs out and the Earth is destroyed!

Assemble the strongest Autobot deck you can! Scan all sectors to uncover Starscream's Minions. Battle them to weaken them. Ask your friends for help. Time is running out.

Anyone is free to enter after reaching level 5.

When the Episode ends, players are ranked according to the amount of Episode Points they've accumulated, with high-ranking players receiving powerful limited edition TRANSFORMERS Legends cards!

 1. Find one of Starscream's Minions when scanning any area.
 2. Battle the Boss!
 3. If the enemy is too strong, work together with your allies to defeat the enemy!
 4. Earn special rewards with Episode Points. Everyone who participates receives rewards!
For this Episode, an Autobot Character card paired with a Autobot Weapon card will get a Faction Affinity Bonus when facing Starscream's Minions! Make an entire deck of Autobots for an even greater bonus!

After starting the Episode, you can find Starscream's Minions through exploration. The Bosses can be found in both Decepticon and Autobot missions, but an Autobot Character card paired with an Autobot Weapon card will receive a Faction Affinity Bonus while facing Starscream's Minions.

After finding a Boss, tap ACCEPT to engage in combat. The amount of time available for the battle depends on which Episode Boss you face. Battling a Boss consumes Battle Cubes.

You may battle a Boss as many times as you like within the given time limit. If the Boss’ health drops to 0 before time expires, the battle is won.

Assemble a deck with 9 Units. They can be Decepticon or Autobot, but only Autobot Character cards paired with Autobot Weapon cards will receive the Faction Affinity Bonus when facing Starscream and his minions.

 • A Unit's position in your deck determines the bonus applied to its stats. The front row receives a 3x bonus to both HP and Attack during battle, while rows 2 and 3 receive a 2x bonus.
 • Unit’s HP: (TRANSFORMERS Character Card HP stat x Weapon Card HP %) x Position Multiplier.

Event Bonus Character Cards

 • Boss Episodes include special TRANSFORMERS Character cards with Attack Power that is increased by an additional factor of 3 or 5 times for the duration of the Episode.

Faction Affinity

 • Unit’s Attack Power: (TRANSFORMERS Character Card Attack stat x Weapon Card Attack %) x Position Multiplier.
 • Each Autobot Character card paired with a Autobot Weapon card in your deck will have its Attack Power increased by a 5% Faction Affinity Bonus.
 • If all of your front row TRANSFORMERS Character cards are Autobots equipped with Autobot weapons, then the Faction Affinity Bonus will rise to 10%.
 • If all TRANSFORMERS Character cards in your deck are Autobots equipped with Autobot weapons, then every card in your deck will have its Attack Power increased by 20%!

If a Boss still has HP after a battle, you can ask your allies for help.

If the Boss is defeated within the time limit, everyone who participated in the battle receives Episode Medals. Additional rewards, such as more Episode Medals, Battle Cube Recharges, and bonus Episode Points, are granted to players who accomplish the following goals:

 • First Blood: The first player to discover and attack a Boss.
 • MVP: The player who deals the most damage will gain bonus Episode Points.
 • Finisher: The player to deal the finishing blow to a Boss.
 • Rewards for Joining: Everyone who participates in a Boss battle receives rewards.
 • Friendship Bonuses: Defeat a Boss with enough players and everyone will earn extra rewards!
 • Rewards for Joining: Everyone who participates in a Boss battle.
 • Rewards are only earned if the Boss is defeated within the time limit.

You also earn Episode Points in addition to rewards for defeating a Boss.

Receive rewards for achieving certain Episode Point levels.

Rankings are determined by the amount of Episode Points accumulated at the end of the episode.

High-ranking players receive limited edition Rare and Super Rare TRANSFORMERS Character and Weapon cards.

The terms of the Episode are subject to change without notice.

Medals obtained during the Episode will be automatically converted to normal Silver and Gold Warrior and Weapon medals within 24 hours of the end of the Episode.

Any items obtained through bugs or exploits will be confiscated.

Episode Ranking Rewards will be granted within 24 hours of the end of the Episode.

Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement! Huh, that’s a bit odd. Especially since the Twinkie in the area has been secured & is with me. Computer, can you pinpoint the location of the disturbance?

…Locating… Disturbance is 2 Terran miles to the North of Moo Base 2.

Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement! Send a message to Moo Base 2, informing Heffer that his Energon Goodie’s delivery will be delayed a few minutes while I check out the disturbance.

…Message sent.

-Meanwhile, at Moo Base 2

Dairycon Exclusive Reveal!

New Dairycon Exclusives revealed! We’ve been informed of even *MORE* Dairycon exclusives for this year’s event!

In no specific order:

Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement!
Name: Nemesis Heffer
Allegiance: Shattered Moo-niverse
Function: Evil Counterpart
Quote: Tarnation! This is some Ruff Stuff right here!"
When Dairycon shattered into the Moo-niverse, this doppleganger of evil crossed over. Different from HEFFER in nearly every possible way, he has been sent by the Dark Master to gather artifacts of incredible power and destroy the Dairycons in the process.
Incredibly smart, talkative, and powered by the Dark Energies, NEMESIS HEFFER utilizes Heff-mounted weapons to deliver a powerful attack. With (Secret) and (Secret), commands a drone army of thousands. Uses the dark energy to corrupt others to his master's cause. Unlike other ground-based altmode Dairycons, Nemesis Heffer has the ability to fly.
Cannot spend much time in the Dairycon Classicverse without succumbing to the Light. Would be rendered powerless if HEFFER can gather the artifacts and defeat him in-time. His attempt to disguise himself as a popular Micromaster will likely backfire.

Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement!
Allegiance: Dairycon
Name: Washout
Function: Military Intelligence
Quote: "I am NOT an oxymoron!"
Hero. Villian. Savior. These and more apply. His history as a high-ranking member of the cybertronian military is obscured, as is his time as a mercenary. Little is known about his past beyond his time with the Dairycons, serving as a friend to Bunny Convoy (and more recently his heroic sacrifice to defeat the world-devourer.) Brought back to life by Hi-Q for reasons yet unknown, Washout will do his best to fight the good fight - at least, until bar time.
Washout is a formidable weapon, both in body and mind. Belives a mission's success lies in its planning. Transforms into an armored tank. Can fire photon missles with pinpoint accuracy. Remembers battles long past and crafts future strategy accordingly. A relentless fighter. Few can withstand the onslaught.
Getting sloshed on a semi-regular basis is Washout's only true weakness. If he can lay off the energon, he can usually focus on the task at hand. on the task at hand. Recurring processor glitch sometimes robs him of his short-term memory.

Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement!
Allegiance: Dairycon
Name: Scoot
Function: Materials Engineer
Quote: "Diecast's a lost art."
The Dairycons' resident inventor. Grudgingly admits to being an 'old school' transformer. Prefers the old technology, even while mastering the new.
Highly dexterous. Can manipulate materials and sparks with forcefields built-in to his hands. Dual-robot-mode allows him choice of either a stable platform or greater speed.
Believes that the mind of a transformer is more important than its body. As such, he's more of a thinker than a soldier. This can be mistaken for cowardice by his enemies.
Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement!
Allegiance: MachineRobo
Name: ReCyKill
Function: High Protector
Quote: "Why do they keep killing me off?"
Boundless pride, ego and ambition describe ReCyKill. Once content with obscurity, his constant reincarnation in other series have sparked his desire to return to power. Although he seems to be quite at home in the role of a brutal, ambitious warlord and would be world-conqueror, the moment he gets started with his diabolical plans, something catastrophic happens (Scoot steals his power suit, the entire universe is in peril, causing a team-up with his foes, or worse, someone kills him with his own weapon.) His recent stop in the Dairycon Universe has only worsened his situation.
As a main character in a once-popular series, ReCyKill has the ability to come back. Thwart his plans for world domination and he'll come back with a new plan the next day. Toss him in a smelting pool and he'll come back in another series, sporting his signature color scheme. Able to survive an almost cartoon-quality amount of damage and humiliation.
See Strengths. And Profile.

Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement!
Allegiance: Evil Dairycon
Name: Combat Hero
Function: Gladiator
Quote: "The jail you planned for me is the one you're going to rot in."
A former high-ranking officer in the Cybertonian Forces. COMBAT HERO made his way up thru the rank and file. Believes in lasting peace thru the use of tyranny. An incident of rebellion against high command led to his discharge and imprisonment. With the aid of ReCyKill, COMBAT HERO escaped the Big Max prison and is currently at-large.
COMBAT HERO is a formidable weapon, both in body and mind. Belives a mission's success lies in its planning. Transforms into an armored tank. Can fire photon missles with pinpoint accuracy. Controls a number of earth-based clones of himself. Remembers battles long past and crafts future strategy accordingly. A relentless fighter.
Chafed under high commands' rule. Notoriously short-temper; incompetent underlings really grind his gears. As a result, his plans to lead a Dairycon uprising will likely fail.

Even the Cheesehead Garrison Members recently got their 2013 exclusive announced!
Re: Dairycon 2013 Announcement!
Allegiance: Cheesehead Garrison
Name: PewtaR-2D2 ('pewtartoo')
Function:Royal Astromech Sewing Droid
Quote: "Beep. Seriously? That's how I talk? Beep?"
A Royal Sewing Astromech in the Queens service. Responsible for hemming and adjusting of various complicated dresses. One of the earliest models in the series; has served faithfully the Royal Family of Naboo for many years. Along with his faithful counterpart, Sew-3P0, was instrumental in getting the Queen's gown ready for the Royal ball.
Sewing skills are required for much of PUR2's work, but design, fabrication and even metal casting can come into play. Known best for dressmaking, gown design, handbag making and mending of zippers. PU-R2 can also work with highly specialized garments, such as bulletproof vests.
Sometimes his bobbin jams, rendering him inert for hours.

And that’s not even all of them! There are *STILL* figures and accessories to yet be announced! :D

We’ve learned that there will be a booth, with displays of various 3rd Party companies' products, including many already available & upcoming releases!

We've been informed that there will be some never-before-seen Prototypes on display!

The official Transformers facebook page has shared the Creator Commentary for Transformers Spotlight: Thundercracker. Writer John Barber shares his thoughts on the first five pages. We've mirrored the commentary below for those without facebook access.

Re: Transformers Spotlight: Thundercracker Preview
PAGE 1- Thundercracker is with a group of Decepticons who appear to be looking for Metroplex. What was your motivation to tie this story into recent events involving Metroplex from TRANSFORMERS: AUTOCRACY and the MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE and ROBOTS IN DISGUISE Annuals?

JOHN BARBER: Well, as much as this story is a nice, self-contained war-era Thundercracker story, it also plays into the bigger picture of what’s happening in the ongoing ROBOTS IN DISGUISE and MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE stories. It was important to writer James Roberts (who’s writing three of the other SPOTLIGHT comics) and I—and Nick Roche, when he wrote SPOTLIGHT: MEGATRON—that these stories have an impact on the continuing Transformers comics—and to each other.

This story in particular continues a thread that James started in the SPOTLIGHT: ORION PAX comic last month–that Thundercracker and a few other Decepticons on Metroplex’s tail. Except now they’ve had it confirmed that Metroplex is real. You don’t have to have read that other SPOTLIGHT—I mean, you should, it’s a good comic—but you don’t have to read it. There are just some threads that will weave in and out of all of the spotlights. This page, in particular, was also an opportunity to sort of line up some of the things we’d learned about Metroplex and the other Titans, from various comics. Clarify everything, to some degree, and make sure everybody sees how it coheres.

Also, it was cool to get to see Chee draw these guys crawling around, looking for stuff. Chee and I worked together on an issue of TRANSFORMERS: SECTOR SEVEN a few years ago, and it was great to work with him again. He’s a master of clear storytelling, and I love the visual quality he brings to the ’bots. They’re not shiny and smooth—they’re kinda scraped-up and lived-in.

Re: Transformers Spotlight: Thundercracker Preview
PAGE 2- Thundercracker and the Decepticons continue their search for Metroplex. How’d you find the challenge of writing Thundercracker, a Decepticon who necessarily doesn’t want to be one?

JOHN BARBER: I think that reluctance is a defining characteristic of him, yet we know he goes on to remain a loyal Decepticon for millions of years after the end of this issue. What I wanted to show here was a key moment of decision for him—when the doubts start creeping in about the Decepticon methods, if not the ultimate goals. He tries to tell himself the mission is more important than his own morality, but I think it’s eating at him a little. It’ll eat at him more as the story goes on.

We see him looking at Autobots and Decepticons as individuals throughout the story—like, he bristles a little at his commanding officer, and during the story he gains a grudging respect for at least one Autobot. I think that’s the key to him—he sees the two sides as made up of individuals, some good and some bad, and over the centuries that wears away his allegiance to a symbol or a movement.

Re: Transformers Spotlight: Thundercracker Preview
PAGE 3- Back story on Metroplex and the Metrotitans, along with a link to SPOTLIGHT: ORION PAX. How much trading/give or take did you have to do with James Roberts (SPOTLIGHT: ORION PAX writer) to tie your story’s together and potentially have then read as a single narrative?

JOHN BARBER: That was the plan from the beginning. He used a couple characters in ORION PAX that I thought would be good to use here, picking up on their lives after some time had passed. And there were a couple characters that had shown up here, that wound up in Orion Pax. It was a pretty natural collaboration. We were each building forward and back from ideas we each had.

Re: Transformers Spotlight: Thundercracker Preview
PAGE 4- More backstory on Metroplex and what happened to him after AUTOCRACY. With all of this new information we are getting on the Titans, is there still plenty more to tell with these giant race of Cybertronians?

JOHN BARBER: Yeah—definitely more to come with the Titans. As you may guess, something big is on the horizon with them… They’re huge and dangerous and mysterious and lots of people seem interested in them. So, yeah, there’s definitely more to tell, and more to be revealed about what’s happened in the past.

Re: Transformers Spotlight: Thundercracker Preview
PAGE 5- Thundercracker heads back to his home base. We haven’t seen him appear in either of the ongoing comic book series, since the “Chaos” storyline in 2011. Any chance he could reappear, and will his choices in this issue have lasting consequences?

JOHN BARBER: Thundercracker didn’t return to Cybertron with most of the other Cybertronians—and this is something we’ll see a little of in SPOTLIGHT: BUMBLEBEE in March. So what he’s been doing, how he’s been keeping busy… all of that hasn’t been revealed yet. I say “yet,” so, yeah, I think his story is far from over.

I will hint that there’s a character in SPOTLIGHT: THUNDERCRACKER who isn’t Thundercracker (or an obvious pick like Bumblebee or Metroplex or Bludgeon) who’s going to play a pretty big role in the Transformers comics in the next year or so…

Greetings Seibertronians. Following our recent review of Transformers Dark of the Moon #1, The Official Comic Adaptation, we bring you the review of the second book in the four book series. As always, we’d like to warn you of any potential (and by potential I mean blatant) spoilers in the review and suggest that you skip this review til after the film has hit the silver screen if you’d like to stay “in the Dark” about the film.

Transformers Dark of the Moon #2, The Official Comic Adaptation.

As with the first book, the crew at the helm of creating this adaptation is lead by Writer John Barber, with artwork being done by Jorge Jimenez Moreno, colors by Romulo Fajardo, letters by Shawn Lee, and editing done by Carlos Guzman and Andy Schmidt.

Book two picks up shortly after where book one leads off with on Sam Witwicky starting his first day at his new job. He’s quickly met by a covertesque employee who yanks him into the nearest restroom and insists he take the information he possesed that concerned the “aliens” he was in contact with years prior. Sam denies everything in good fashion but the info is forced on him and the employee books out of the restroom sans pants (as that’s where he was hiding the info) as their boss emerges from a cammode. Sam gives chase to the kid who then states he didn’t know him nor has ever spoke to him and is promptly toasted by Laserbeak. Laserbeak then pursues Sam who, well runs, and finds an emergency axe and returns the favor to Laserbeak by bludgeoning him/her/it in the head. Cue the reunion of Sam and the N.E.S.T. team.

Sam meets the crew and a not impressed Director Mearing, and fills them in on the happenings as Optimus Prime uses the power of the Matrix of Leadership to revive Sentinel Prime. Sentinel blasts Optimus in a defensive move and Optimus and the crew get him to realize who they are and where they are. Optimus and the crew bow to Sentinel in respect and Optimus asks him to reassume command of the Autobots, offering him the Matrix of Leadership. Sentinel refuses, stating that he was in no condition nor had the ability to lead them anymore. Optimus fills him in on the Moon situation and that five unknown pillars were found. He then tells everyone the purpose of the pillars: as Space Bridge, and that only he can operate it.

Flash over to Africa where Megatron is holding base. Soundwave reports that Megatrons “dreads” have left the moon on the Autobot ship. Megatron orders Soundwave to tell the dreads to pursue a “secondary objective” and gather the troops.

Back in the US, Sam is with Bumblebee trying to figure out why the Decepticons are killing humans. Sam walks into a room where former Agent Simmons, of the now defuct Sector 7, is on TV discussing his latest book on aliens. Presumably Sam gets in contact with Simmons cause the next panel features his boss coming to his apartment to give him the information he dropped earlier and the boss threatens to sue Sam if he doesn’t get to see the Bots. Then you see the boss, Simmons and some other guy in a Sector 7 jumpsuit although its not explained how or when they got there. Simmons fills them in on why the Cons are interested in the moon. In walks Carly in a sultry dress, mad that Sam forgot about a party they were supposed to go to and mad that he’s with the Autobots stating that Mearing said she’d handle it. She promptly rips the foot off of Sam’s lucky bunny and gives it to him, leaving Sam.

Atlantic City is their next destination as Simmons tracks down a cosmonaut that worked on the space program and is promptly met by a cadre of guns as he inquires about it. In steps Wheelie, whos been tagging along the way, speaking Russian and making the cosmonaut like him. The cosmonaut tells them that they found hundreds of pillars on the moon. Sam realizes that if they only found five, that means the Decepticons took the rest and plan on using Sentinel Prime to activate it. He quickly calls Mearing to warn them when she says to stay out of it. As they are driving towards the N.E.S.T. teams base, they’re met by a Decepticon that resembles Ravage. Bumblebee backtracks and Sam tells Sideswipe to protect Sentinel. The Autobots form a defensive around Sentinel Prime and Ironhide uses his body to stop a Decepticon vehicle from catching Sentinel. Sam tells Ironhide to guard him cause he’s the key. At this Sentinel Prime transforms, says “Yes, Ironhide, I am the key” and blasts him in the face. To be continued.

As for this as a comic, I give it two cubes out of four this time. The art, once again, was severely lacking and the human art seemed more rushed this time than the first. The Bots look kind of sloppy at times and the colors just don't seem to give the book any life. The story was even hard to swallow this go around as it jumped major leaps without given details on how that leapt was taken. Given this is an adaptation that you have a bunch of story to put into a small amount of space, it gets the job done for giving you the end goods. As I stated before, if you love the movieverse and gotta have more cowbell, the $3.99 pricetag is an easy pill to swallow to complete the series.

As with the first book, the second book featured another solid prose story by John Barber. This go around features Agent Simmons dad in a Soviet prison during the space race. We get alot of background info on how the Russians got the jump in the race and find out that the Pretenders have been manipulating humans from the start. Soundwave appears at the end and starts to connect the dots between the first film and now.

Much better prose story this time around that really gave life to the first one. Barber did a great job of giving background details on Dark of the Moon while letting us know how the Allspark, the Sun Harvestor and the Space Bridge all have a commonplace.

Review three will be headed your way shortly so stay tuned Seibertronians.
