Scramble City (1986, Japan) is a half-hour original animated video (OAV) that bridged the transition from the "contemporary" era of "Fight! Super Robot Life Transformers" to the year 2006. It was made by combining original animated footage with existing American cartoon clips into one fight-filled festival. The large Gestalts (Superion, Menasor, Bruticus, Devastator, and Defensor) played leading roles, while Trypticon, Ultra Magnus, and Metroplex make brief appearances. The name comes from the story´s premise of "scramble power." The Gestalts could rearrange their limbs (swapping an arm for a leg, for instance) to gain advantage in battle. Check out the ALL NEW Scramble City Revisited screen capture gallery here. This screen capture gallery has been left intact - and includes the recap images from other G1 episodes as well as the new animation.

Not only has the main Transformers toy line done well enough during 2002 that it has spawned a secondary Transformers line called "Transformers: Universe" featuring Unicron versus PRIMUS, but the little tykes look like they´ll be getting an expanded Transformers: Go-Bots line! According to a press release from Hasbro, the Transformers: Go-Bots line will get a new figure that sounds a bit like Ultra Magnus or Optimus Prime (a massive tractor-trailer capable of hauling 2 Go-Bots toys) AND an animated series!
