According to the Finance section of Yahoo.com, The Sears Holding Corporation will be closing between 100 to 120 stores due largely to a poor holiday shopping season. The article states "The closings are the latest and most visible in a long series of moves to try to fix a retailer that has struggled with falling sales and shabby stores."

In an internal memo Tuesday to employees, CEO and President Lou D'Ambrosio said that the retailer had not "generated the results we were seeking during the holiday."

As parts of the national economy continue to struggle, jobs are still being lost. As this is unfortunate of many people, it might lend a hand to some Transformers collectors looking to find the silver lining in the shape of discounted toys in a closing K-Mart or Sears store. Shout! Factory wrote:TRANSFORMERS: THE JAPANESE COLLECTION – Headmasters -- Optimus Prime lives again, the energy of the Matrix has been released and peace reigns on Cybertron . . . but all that is about to change with the startling arrival of the newest breed of TRANSFORMERS warriors.

TRANSFORMERS: THE JAPANESE COLLECTION – Super-God Masterforce -- Following their victory over the DESTRONS (a/k/a DECEPTICONS) at the end of Headmasters, the CYBERTRONS (AUTOBOTS) depart Earth, leaving behind only a small group to protect the planet from any future menace. TRANSFORMERS: THE JAPANESE COLLECTION – Victory -- Victory is the third and final installment of this Japanese trilogy— introduces four new factions to the TRANSFORMERS universe. Each group comes equipped with its own unique power and the ability to combine to form much larger, more powerful TRANSFORMERS, making each and every battle even more epic!

While the release of the Movieverse DVDs haven't produced exclusive toys from Hasbro since '07, the same can't be said for Takara. The Transformers: Dark of the Moon DVD is set to be sold in Japan on December 16th, and with it comes an exclusive - a clear plastic version of Dual Model Kit Optimus Prime for the price of ¥ 14,421 (US $187.09). Does this match up with Amazon Japan's ROTF DVD exclusive Black Optimus Prime? Don't forget about Lawson Japan, who will also likely have a DVD exclusive in the books. Check out the images below, and the pre-order page at Amazon Japan.

Target continues their Dark Of The Moon exclusives with the Cyberverse Ark Set with bonus Sentinel Prime figure. There doesn't seem to be any difference between this Sentinel Prime and the Cyberverse Commander regular release. If you have been waiting on purchasing the Ark Set, now you can get it with its pilot in one package with this special value.

This set was spotted last night at Target in Wyoming, MI and today at the Golf Mill Target in the greater Chicago area. Record your own sightings in the Toy Sightings Forum.
