We have received information that some of the highly sought after Transformers Prime "First Edition" and Movie Trilogy figures will be seeing a release in the near future. The catch is these will be at a higher price point and only released in the Asian market. The Movie All Star case consists of all Ques, and the "First Edition" case will feature Arcee, Cliffjumper, and Vehicon.
Today we have several updates regarding 3rd party toy manufacturer Maketoys. The first is a sort of "drill" upgrade for Maketoys Giant. These appear to be a standard and phillips screwdriver tips for the combined mode of Giant. Although there has been no explanation on whether this is a future release or just for fun. They've also posted new color images of their next two-pack Dump Truck and Mobile Crane.
But that is not all for Giant, because MakeToy have updated their website to officially confirm the green Giant repaint the fandom was demanding, and just like some rumours stated it will be a full 6 figure gift set! You can read their message in English here or oyu can click here for the Japanese version.
Then there is a picture that surfaced on Maketoys.jp website. A silhouette of an easily recongnizeable behemoth, Computron. Will 2012 be the year of the Technobots? We have reported earlier, that TFC has worked up some sketches of the Technobots as well. Is the fandom ready for another combiner show down? Check out the image below or click here to view the previous reports on TFC's concept Computron.
We now have concept work for TFC Toys Technobot Scattershot. We brought you the other 4 members earlier this month. Actoys.net posted these two sketches from the team at TFC Toys. Is the two headed dragon a heavily stylized Hun Gurr or some other robot toy like their Star Q products? Obivously these are a long way off but interesting none the less. Check out the pics below or click to go to Actoys.net
Also posted on Planet Iacon's Facebook page today is a surprise image of Botcon 2012 Exclusive Shattered Glass Optimus Prime. Or so we assume based on the color scheme. This SG Prime is delivered via the Transformers Reveal the Shield G2 Prime. It has not been indicated of this will be an Exclusive add-on figure or this year's freebie. Check out the image below or click here to view Planet Iacon's Facebook page.
Some interesting Technobot concept sketches have been posted by Xiao Red (who always seems to have the inside track on TFC Toys info) over on ACToys. It appears third-party toy company TFC Toys may be considering the Technobots as their next Transformers related project. This would also be consistent with the hints they dropped on their facebook page about their next project featuring red and white on each figure. The concept sketches for Afterburner, Strafe, Lightspeed, and Nosecone are mirrored below. This should be treated as a rumor for the moment. As we all know by now third-party companies are notorious for teasing and starting projects that never see fruition.
Some information has come in pertaining to the MP-11s Sunstorm. The Takara/Tomy Sunstorm will be limited to a 1000 pieces for Japan and a larger scale release for Asia. No information on a western version at this time. This rare seeker will be packaged in the traditional black MP box and is set for July/August release date at 12000 yen ($150USD)! The Encore release of the Decepticon six changer, Sixshot, will also be packaged in a Movie MP styled box with a view window. It is reported to have a "premium leather material finish". Currently scheduled for a July 2012 launch date, it also has a 12000 yen ($150USD) price point.
Both figures will support the Takara collector coin giveaway that started with MP Rodimus.
It would seem the Movie Trilogy might truly be getting a reboot. With the vague references and loose vocabulary that implies a series reset, new comments from Josh Duhamel seem to reinforce the reboot position.
Josh Duhamel wrote:"I don't think anybody's doing it," Josh Duhamel told us last night at the launch party for Sony PlayStation's new PS Vita portable entertainment system. "I know Shia [LaBoeuf]'s not doing it. I don't think Tyrese or Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] or anybody else is doing it."
Obviously the next installment of the mega-successful Transformers Movie series is set for a June 2014 release. That leaves a lot of time for things to change. This early into the process, nothing is guaranteed. Duhamel added:
"Whenever these movies make that much money they're going to make as many as they can," he said. "[But] I haven't heard anything about it. They haven't called me."

Ofcourse, this video from ClevverMovies youtube channel states that the movie WILL be a straight up sequel, but not told through the eyes of Shia LeBeouf's character, Sam Witwicky. So new cast, same story? Again, this far out from production, with no story or scripts written, anything can change. These are preliminary reports.
Our friend, Daimhoc has reported that a pictured surfaced on Weibo.com/tfctoys that depicts a Hercules (Devastator) rifle in prototype grey. The rifle appears to have some transforming or customizing options similar to the original guns released with each TFC Hercules team member. I am inclined to believe that this will integrate with the smaller handguns to allow for some serious firepower. Check out the image below!
Although it is no surprise that after Dark of the Moon's impressive $1.124 billion at the worldwide box office, another transformers film would be made. Merely unofficial rumors, until now. Paramount Pictures is planning a return of Transformers to the big screen, likely in June or July of 2014. No confirmation has been given to the return of Michael Bay, but given the success of the Speilberg/Bay combination, it is probable. ComingSoon.net posted information regarding the announcement and had this to say:
producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura wrote:"We'll be there in the summer of 2014," he confirmed, as well as addressing (albeit vaguely) whether Michael Bay will be returning as director or not. "Michael had a debate because he sort of felt at first that he'd done three. Michael and I are both the same in that we always like to top ourselves. That doesn't necessarily mean bigger. It can be bigger in places, it just means different, but we're going to push really hard as fresh and new as we can be."
What can fans expect for a major motion picture on the 30th anniversary of the brand? Time will tell. To read the full account on Comingsoon.net click here.
It had been announced last week that TF Club, makers of the incredibly large Hercules combiner, would be in attendance at Animation On Demand 2012, an annual gathering of artists, writers, animators, programmers and toy developers. TFC will have their incredibly small TargetRoids on hand in the form of a pair exclusive 2 packs! One set will include an Ultra Magnus (Naked) repaint versus Skywarp: Ultra vs Warp. The other set pits Nemesis Prime against or with Thundercracker: Shadow and Thunder. The images have been mirrored below or click here to view the rest.
Wondering what the deal is with the upcoming Transformers Bot Shots? What size are they? What are the symbols on their chest? Well some answers have surfaced thanks to TimetoPlayMag.com. Bot Shots will feature an advanced Rock/Paper/Scissors style game. By rotating the chest symbol, you can choose Blaster, Fist or Sword, and then slam 2 or more Bot Shots in a head on collision to discover the winner. Transformers Bot Shots will feature Bots and Cons from Generation 1 through the new Movie. Check out the video below for a product demonstration.
Another aspect of the Transformers Bot Shots line may have an online interactive feature. Could this be the website? No official word yet on this site, but we will keep you posted!
The Official Transformers Collector Club Facebook page has been a hot spot today. Recently uploaded there was this in hand image of TFCC 2012 Club Exclusive Runabout! Also rumored to have some in hand robot mode pics tomorrow! Check out the mirrored image below and check out the TFCC Facebook page here!
My Little Pony fansite Equestria Daily is reporting that McDonald's Happy Meals in March will feature a new wave My Little Pony toys and more importantly Transformers Prime toys.
Apparently another wave of ponies is planned for March 9th (though she told me not to quote her on that exact date), along with Transformers on the boys side. They don't know specifically what characters/designs will be available, but she did say they usually try to release new sets, so hopefully something awesome pops up.
Take this with a healthy dose of salt, but the Transformers Prime "Robots in Disguise" main line may have been found in the US. eBay seller vheryan27 has listed auctions for Deluxe "Robots in Disguise" Soundwave and Cliffjumper in domestic packaging, and claims they were purchased at a California Toys"R"Us location. As you can see in the images mirrored below from the two auctions, the packaging differs from the multi-lingual style that was recently released in the UK and bears the Hub promo sticker. You California members might want to keep an eye out.
Update: .....and it's confirmed! Transformers Prime "Robots in Disguise" Deluxe wave 1 is in the US. The Allspark member Demovere Xeno purchased Deluxe Wheeljack at a Toys"R"Us location in San Mateo, CA. Get to hunting! What does this mean for the "First Edition" figures beyond wave 1 Deluxe?
It looks like third-party toy group iGear may be following BotCon's lead and repainting/remolding their Seaspray homage, Spray, into Octopunch. Full Metal Hero has received a digibash of Spray with G1 Octopunch's Pretender shell head and colors. Chock it up as rumor for the moment. Image mirrored below.
Some interesting images have surfaced over on ACToys that appear to be the rumored BotCon 2012 attendee only add-on figure Octopunch. As you can see in the images mirrored below the figure is a repaint of HFTD Voyager Sea Spray in G1 Octopunch's Pretender shell colors with tentacle deco. The figure is packaged the familiar convention style baggy labeled BotCon 2012. This is consistent with the list of potential BotCon 2012 figures we published earlier, which stated this figure will also feature a new head mold.
On December 19th, the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights posted an article on their website accusing Hasbro of poor working conditions and less than adequate pay for workers at the Jet Fair Factory in China. The article can be read here.
In a press release last week, Hasbro addressed the claims of dire working conditions in their Jet Fair Factory stating they have taken the allegations very seriously. They deployed a team to work with I.C.T.I (International Council of Toy Industries) to examine the conditions of the facility. After an unannounced, nine hour inspection, both Hasbro and the I.C.T.I. determined the facility met "Hasbro's rigorous requirements."
The press statement goes on to say "While Hasbro is committed to continual improvement in all facets of corporate social responsibility, including continued ethical product manufacturing at Jet Fair and all factories that produce Hasbro products, the inflammatory allegations made by the NGO in their report were unsubstantiated by our investigation. As a matter of course, Hasbro will continue to monitor conditions at Jet Fair and all of our factories."
As soon the article surfaced, Seibertron.com members began discussing it in the forums. We immediately contacted Hasbro and they sent the following message to Seibertron.com in response to our inquiries to this matter on December 19th, 2011:
"Thank you for checking in with us on this matter. Hasbro takes all claims involving working conditions very seriously, and we are immediately investigating. The Company has a strong track record and has had long-standing policies and processes in place for years to help ensure good working conditions, including health and safety, at factories making our products. We strive to conduct business throughout our supply chain in accordance with the highest ethical standards, and we utilize not only ICTI-- but also our own on-the-ground workforce-- to monitor social compliance. For more information about Hasbro’s comprehensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, including more detail regarding Hasbro’s policies and practices related to ethical product manufacturing, please visit Hasbro.com/csr."
When the first computer renders and prototype images of TFC Toys Star Cats Rescue Team combiner started popping up fans speculated we might be looking at a set of Neo-Protectobots. We soon learned that wasn't the case, but some still saw the potential for a Defensor repaint somewhere down the line. Last month we got our first hint that TFC Toys might also have the repaint on their minds when a new image of the team's leader showed up on ACToys in Hot Spot deco.
Now we have little more information on the potential repaint from ACToy's Hsaio Red, who's been the source of almost all of the images and information regarding the Dino-Combiner team and Star Cats team. According to his post on ACToys the set will receive a Protectobot repaint limited to 1000 sets. Concept sketches have also been posted of a Defensor head and chest, the other concept drawing in the image is for the Dino-Combiner's head.
We've mirrored the previously seen Hot Spot redeco image, concept Defensor head sketch, and a few images of the molds that would be used below form ACToys. Could this work as the Protectobots with the right colors and maybe some new head molds?
During a recent interview ILM's Scott Farrar talked about the possibility of another Transformers sequel. He says Paramount has already approached him for a fourth film, and he seems to confirm that director Michael Bay has also been contacted. No confirmation of course, but Farrar says he's on board for another film. Video embedded below.
Now Transformers Dark of the Moon's leading lady, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, has chimed in on the possible future of the Transformers movie franchise, and seems to think LaBeouf might be game.
