The Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast returns with all the Mayhem of May. Join Counterpunch, RodimusConvoy13, Rotorstorm, and Scotty P for an episode filled with laughs, drafts, and even a giraffe?

Episode #145 “May Mayhem“ is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

The ongoing Beast Wars re-watch kicks off the show as the cast takes a look at Episodes 12 and 13 of the first season. "Victory" brings us full blown cartoon villain plans gone awry, as no Predacon could ever predict a gorilla with a jetpack coming to save the day. Even viewers could never predict a ship crash landing from right where it took off. We take a look at "Dark Designs" as well, featuring Tankor.

If this gets you in the Beast Wars mood, why not travel back to 2014 and check out the end of Twincast / Podcast Episode 101 where Jon 3.0 and Scotty P got a few minutes to talk with Garry Chalk, voice of Optimus Primal!

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's, oh. That's weird.

With summertime upon us, and most of the major sports in the US winding down, it can only mean one thing: it's about to be draft season! (Well, and baseball season if you like afternoon naps.)

To honor the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars, we proudly present the first ever Twincast character draft. Each podcaster gets three rounds to assemble a team. You'll have to tune in to find out if there were any surprise picks at the top, league-shattering trades, and if Tom Brady somehow managed to cheat to win this too.

I just don't think the Browns are going to be any better with these animals running the farm.

This week also yielded two brand new Transformers comics from IDW Publishing. The cast starts their look at these books with the next chapter in "All Hail Optimus", with The Transformers #53

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #145 "May Mayhem"
Or at the least, some fans' devotion to this book.

The Counterpunching of recent Transformers comics fiction continues as the cast takes a decidedly critical lens to the pages of More Than Meets The Eye #53. Wipe off the afterglow of all those emotions and prepare for literary critique as the pacing of the "Dying of the Light" arc is called into question.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #145 "May Mayhem"
When Counterpunch tells you what he thinks of this issue.

Sometimes you need some music for when you're reading those comics, and some other times you just want to jam out to the tunes from over the years that remind you of your favorite hobby. With the recent release of "Roll Out", Hasbro and Sony Music want you to do just that. But does this experiment in cross-medium marketing work out, or are we left yearning for more? Spoiler: We're left yearning, it's actually really bland.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #145 "May Mayhem"
See those eyes? There's no soul there either.

We keep up the music discussion a little bit longer and think of how we'd give Transformers media a soundtrack of our own. This conversation goes in lots of different directions, including some mention of our favorite Transformers AMVs (Anime Music Videos) from Youtube.

Be sure to us a link to your favorite Transformers AMV, or to what your "soundtrack" for Transformers sounds like by replying to this thread!

Crawling in his skin.

May Mayhem descends upon the show, with in-hand impressions of Combiner Wars Victorion at the ready. In addition to the cast's thoughts about this new fan-built combiner, you can listen as yours truly is as dense as can be in trying to figure out how to fix Pyra Magna.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #145 "May Mayhem"
Leave a piece out and she'll call you a diode-blowing dimwit. If you're into that sort of thing.

But wait, has May Mayhem transformed all on its own? Has it instead become Halloween Havoc? For most of us, it sure looks that way, but at least there's Seibertron.com's gallery of Combiner Wars Deluxe Groove to tide us all over in the meantime.

Ready to get loud and shout out for more May Mayhem!

With Robots in Disguise Season 2 having wrapped up a couple weeks ago, the cast takes a short look at the progression of the show from Season 1 to now. Plus, we consider which characters from the cast of the show could make cool toys for the Transformers: Generations line, like Lockdown and Lugnut once did themselves.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #145 "May Mayhem"
More RID Decepticons is just a good thing regardless.

One more segment closes out the show, as we get Counterpunched into doing bragging rights. Find out which treasures we recently picked up - they may not be what you expect!

Hoo boy, has it been a while, well fellow Seibertronians, time to dust off this thread with a necro-post of the gallery kind. Remember the transforming Angry Bird figures that showed up in stores and sold out in weeks? Well, with the Angry Birds movie coming out in theaters tomorrow, now seems like the opportune time to soak in the cheesy, crazy goodness that is the Wave 1 Angry Birds Transformers Telepods. Wave 1 includes Autobirds Optimus Prime Bird, Bumblebee Bird, and Heatwave The Fire-Bot Bird as well as Deceptihogs Galvatron Pig, Soundwave Pig, and Lockdown Pig, so check them out and let us know what you think of them in the comments below.

If you're interested in checking out the Angry Birds Transformers mobile app, you can still find it available on Google Play and on Apple's App Store.

Well, yours truly has managed to snag hold of a Combiner Wars Victorion from Hasbro Toy Show using that good ole 15% off May Mayhem code, and it even managed to arrive 30 hours after ordering. A great story, but one for another time.

Now, it is time to give the Rust Renegades a good pictorial review. Now, most of you will remember that our very own Seibertron did a nice little Video Review as well as his typical and fantastic Gallery, but now it is time for a different type of review. We will be taking a nice pictorial review of the figure that I received today, and we will also bring up some important characteristics of the figure, such as some remolding, some neat little tricks, and a few issues to keep an eye out.

Alright folks, dudes and dudettes, ladies and gents, lets get rolling!

First up, We will investigate the Box and the extra little pieces of paper and posterboard:

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades

That's right peoples, she not only has a massive box, but she comes with a collectors card, instructions, and a poster of herself with her individual bots in alt mode! (Well, except for poor old Rust Dust...)

Alright, now on to the alt modes:

For quick clarification: Stormclash has the visor and the left-side chest-mounted Autobot symbol, while Skyburst has the individual eyes and the right-side chest-mounted Autobot symbol.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
And if you use the feet on the underneath side, you can get some nice flying poses!

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Now, Jumpstream's front end where the chest tabs to the bumber is a bit messy, but it still pegs in nice and snug. She also looks really good with the Pyra Magna axe as a spoiler.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Be careful with Dust up: her underside likes to drag on the ground. Just a warning.

And here is a nice little look at the new ladder and bucket assembly Pyra Magna is decorated with.

Now, after looking at that, some thoughts:

Dust up to me feels like she could be the winner since, despite the several uses of the mold, besides Dead End I don't have this version of the mold, so it feels cool. I only wish some of her other issues did not exist, but we'll see those later.

Pyra Magna has some issues with the front of her firetruck mode as it won't level out, so the second set of wheels is almost always off the ground. But overall, not terrible. I just wish it leveled out and had some better plastic.

The twins are a choice treat. Yes, they are the coptor mode, but they feel a little bit different and nice, and I love their heads. One issue: Their legs peg together so snug that separating them is a bit scary.

Jumpstream has a bit of a roundish and weird looking head, but overall she is not bad. Mine came with some paint chips off the chest plate, but she transforms well, and may be the most fun one to transform.

Rust Dust may be a repaint, but she is still nice, and I like her, she makes me smile.

Robot modes:

And this is where I have another issue with the figure. if you look at the joint close enough, you see stress marks from only transforming her 3 times. The roof joint is very tight and I worry for the longevity of the windshield screen. she has major issues staying together and transforming. Ouch.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Another issue: her chest panel does not want to peg into the main body.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Pyra Magna may use the main Hot Spot body and alt mode, but she did get Onslaught's heel spurs, a nice touch very much appreciated since her ladder assemble is shorter and no longer touches the ground.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
and how I find the feet and hands store away the best.

Now, you may notice that the hands are hiding inside the feet. They actually slide in there pretty nicely too. In the images shown below, you can see how this works, but the hands have a little slot on the underside of the hand in the 5mm port that enables them to slide into the feet, and they stay very snug. Nice touch.

Now, for a quick peak at her fantastic new weapon, which is the combined mode of all 5 weapons seen previously:

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades

And now for some combined mode:

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
This right here is her new chest detail without Rust Dust

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Nice little trick here. I have seen several reviewers have the issue of the new coptor arms clashing, but there are 2 different tabs in the arms, so you can rotate them and peg them in like this, meaning that there are no clashing parts in combined mode

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
She has 2 different limb configurations. Here is the "Flight mode" with the coptor twins as the feet.

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
And gravity control mode, with the coptor twins as the arms

Transformers News: Pictorial Review and Tips: Combiner Wars Fan Built Bot: Victorion and the Rust Renegades
Dust up is a recurring issue, as her arm mode does not like to stay together unfortunately. If hse is still she won't separate, but if you move her, BAM! She will fall apart.

So, on to my final thoughts.

Box and bonus stuff: Works for me. The poster was a nice touch and I will hang it up somewhere, and the card shall join my other cards lying on my desk. Awesome art though, as per usual boxy stuff.

Pyra Magna: the plastic is very soft and not overly heavy, a major weak point. Her knees no longer want to tab in place and I'm scared to push any farther, and her left arm does not like combined mode. I do appreciate the heel spurs, a great improvement, and she does look good. Her new chest and head are also pretty good. I'd give her an 7/10, with the alt modes, left arm, and plastic quality issues letting her down.

Dust up: The weakest of the group. Alt mode drags the ground, the chest won't tab, and the roof scares me, not to mention sticking together in arm mode. But, she does look awesome, and the Nightbird head is amazing. So, 6/10. She is the one that I fear actually breaking.

Jumpstream: the best of the bunch to me. Decent head, transforms well, the hips are now far more solid than the original Breakdown and she has some nice new arms to go with the head. Plus, she rolls nice, and looks awesome with the axe weapon. 9/10, with the only losing points going to the nose piece.

Stormclash/Skyburst: I love me some twins, and they are no exception. The mirrored paint apps and the slightly different heads make them just different enough, and they transform nice, have new parts, and they make great limbs. They may be the best pair of limbs. 9/10 for both, the legs transformation being the only letdown, due to the scariness of potential breaking.

Rust Dust: Nice little repaint. she works, and she looks alright. tabs in better than Groove too, so 10/10 for what she is.

Victorion: the main event herself, and the best of the combiners in my opinion. The uniform color scheme is awesome and matches and makes her look like a big bot made from a cohesive team. And she has loads of paint, loads and loads of it. You will not get bored looking at the amount of paint apps. this is on par with club or Botcon exclusives! nicely done there. She also looks symmetrical and the new hands and feet are awesome, just wish the hands were a touch bigger. Now, I found that she is more balanced with the coptor sisters as legs, but you can go whatever route you want. It's combiner wars! Mix and Match! And her head, oh wow, it is big and detailed and lovely. she actually has eyes, and then the visor overtop! I really like that, and the detail on the crest is nice touch. Overall, I give her a 10/10 for what she is.

Now, you may be exhausted when you consider she is entirely repaints with some retooling, but she is still well worth it. She is uniform in paint and symmetry, has special new parts, some fantastic heads, and that sword! I'd recommend her, even if you have collected all the other combiner like I have. Take a look, and should you decide to leap: Hasbro Toy Shop still has that May Mayhem coupon, so go get her!

I hope you all enjoyed this review. Let us know what you think of this new gal in the comments section down below, and as always stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your latest Transformers News and Galleries!

Welcome to the latest episode of the Seibertron.com Twincast / Podcast! This episode features your host Megatronus, prodigal host Counterpunch, and one-time host RodimusConvoy13 - listen in as we discuss the latest (with perhaps a lag of 5 days) news, toys, and more.

Episode #144 "Don't Touch That Dial" is available directly and in our RSS Feed, and should appear on iTunes and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.

We warm up with some casual chat about Optimus & Me, an editorial piece about an immigrant girl finding a role model and social shield in your hero and mine, Optimus Prime. None of the cast members were little girls, unfortunately, so we discuss where we found meaning in the original 'toon. Megatronus likes Megatron. Go figure.

Sometimes, we can all use a hand. A giant, robot hand.

Back to the 90s we go. That's right, it's time for another segment dedicated to re-watching Beast Wars episodes. We take a quick look at episodes 9, 10, & 11, wherein Rattrap saves the day, Optimus goes full Primal, and no one goes home.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #144: "Don't Touch That Dial"
Beast Wars never gets old.

As we discuss MP Optimus Primal and rumors of an upcoming MP Cheetor, we decide it's prime time for SureShot18's query: "With the possibility of the MP Beast Wars line continuing and the disappointment on the boards in Cheetor maybe being the next one, what would your ideal MP Beast Wars release schedule be for the Season 1 characters?"

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #144: "Don't Touch That Dial"
No hairy cat butts.

Speaking of Masterpiece, a certain red fire truck has been confirmed. MP Inferno will becoming to quench a fire near you, or maybe just keep Red Alert from going bonkers again. What does the cast think of this latest entry in the ever-growing money-making MP machine?

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #144: "Don't Touch That Dial"
He's ash grey! Get it!? Get it??? Sigh.

We get into some comic talk: Sins of the Wreckers #4, The Transformers #52, and More Than Meets The Eye #52 are on the chopping block. There's a lot to discuss in each arcs' penultimate issue, and you'll just have to tune in to get it all. In the meantime, we bring you this moment, by Rodimus:

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #144: "Don't Touch That Dial"
Buuuuuuurrrrn.

Generation is up next, and we start with Unite Warriors Sky Reign. Rumor has it this set will deviate quite a bit from the Hasbro release. WIll the Twincast double dip for that tantalizingly likely Ratchet? While you chew on that, check out these awesome comparisons of the upcoming Computron sets. There's truly something for everyone.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #144: "Don't Touch That Dial"
Never underestimate the deadly tuning fork.

We finish up the Twincast with some bragging rights. What did everyone get since the last recording - or even since two recordings ago? *COUGH* Grand Galvatron *COUGH*. Sorry, just clearing my throat.

Transformers News: Twincast / Podcast Episode #144: "Don't Touch That Dial"
You're sure that's not a new head?

Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on iTunes and be sure to tell us what you love, what you hate, and what you want to hear!

Not on the show to give your take? Probably not, so don't forget to keep the discussion going on the Seibertron.com Energon Pub Forums by simply replying to this post!

As promised, and as the Transformers Collectors' Club keeps sending out its Subscription Service 4.0 figures, Seibertron.com continues to provide its visual services to the figures - as we did with Needlenose when it shipped, so we do now with the figure that was intended to be retail Ruckus, changed into Combiner Wars Offroad by Hasbro, and now released under the Grabuge name by the Club!

Click on any of the images to open up the full gallery, as we plough full steam ahead towards our 5000 gallery milestone.

Seibertron.com's 4,000th Gallery is none other than ... my actual very 1st Transformer!

:D 8-} :APPLAUSE:  :KREMZEEK: :BOT:

Here we are at Seibertron.com's 4,000th Transformers toy gallery. No prototype. No rare figure. Nothing new. Nothing of particular interest, except maybe to me. It has historical significance to Seibertron.com and much personal significance to myself. Lo and behold, it's my first Transformer from 1984 who is none other than G1 Bumblebee. He's battle damaged, worn, has some extra paint apps, rust, a flat tire, a missing tire, a damaged tire, a stress mark, and more. You might be wondering what's so special about this run-down Transformers toy. Well, he's my very first Transformers toy that I got way back in 1984 at the age of 7. It marks the beginning of something major in my life which ultimately has led to this very moment years later with you reading an article that I'm writing on Seibertron.com, a website about Transformers toys that I created 16 years ago. It is the earliest physical representation I possess of the moment Transformers became of interest to me. Here all of us are on Seibertron.com, which winds back to that moment in time.

Pretty unremarkable, huh? Well, let me tell you a story or three ...

Like all of you, my collision course with our favorite robots that convert from one thing to another and back, has a beginning. With me, it was one fateful Saturday morning when I woke at the crack of dawn, turned on the television to discover another weekly installment of Saturday morning cartoons, when I came across a cartoon about those very robots. I was mesmerized by the Transformers. I don't recall much about watching that first episode but I swear I remember flipping the channel to Wheeljack and Bumblebee's opening scene in the first episode. Later that day, I begged and pleaded my Mom to take me to Toys R Us to get a Transformer toy. She did, and she bought me the Mini-Bot Bumblebee toy you see featured below and my brother took home a Windcharger (thanks Mom!). My earliest connection with the Transformers comic, that I remember, was my Dad buying me a copy of Transformers #4 at a Perry Drug store. Transformers had fully captivated my childhood imagination.

As you'll see from the pictures in this gallery, there are some "artistic" shots showing the wear in detail. Some of my favorite photography shots that came out of this were of the rust on the screws and the diecast piece on Bumblebee's back as well as the shots of the tires. It's not perfect and that's the point. It was interesting photographing a toy for Seibertron.com that wasn't as close to perfection as I normally strive. Capturing this detail helps tell the story.

While I don't understand what happened with his tires, which appear to have melted at some point, I'm assuming the rust was caused by Bumblebee's many water adventures he went on. As a child, we lived on a lake in mid-Michigan about 1/2 way between Flint and Ann Arbor. I fascinated with taking my Transformers in the lake, playing with them on the sand, in the bathtub ... I had no long term plans for these toys at that time but I sure had about as much fun as a kid could have with them. They were buried in sand, entangled in covert missions amongst seaweed, had forest hideouts among leaf piles, wood chips, tree branches, shrubs or whatever else I could think of. On vacations up north, the Constructicons dug holes from the shores of the Straits of Mackinac all the way to "the other side of the world" (wherever that was) or they entombed their Autobot captives in sandy embankments.

Minimal bumper paint wear and the head is still attached amazingly and even has the decal on the back of his head still. Not bad 1980s-Ryan!

Does this mean that I didn't actually get Bumblebee in 1984 like I always thought? Shhh! Don't tell anyone!!!

Here's where memories can get the best of you. I swear on all that's holy that I got into Transformers during 1984. Yet, there's my original Bumblebee's copyright stamps staring me in the face with 1985 on it clear as it gets, aside from a little dirt from back in the day. Is it possible that Transformers toys in late 1984 were shipping with 1985 stamps on them? Can anybody help assure me that I did get Bumblebee in 1984 or is this proof that I probably didn't get into Transformers until 1985? I remember clear as day seeing that first episode of More Than Meets The Eye, which could have been in reruns already, but I know I got Marvel Comics Transformers #4 (which came out in December 1984) after I had Bumblebee, though it's highly possible that the comic had been shelf warming prior to my discovery of it.

C'mon! That's a cool photo you'd see in some art gallery somewhere or in some fancy art book about vintage toys.

Gold paint remnants from "The Golden Lagoon" reenactment. You should see what happened during the Scraplets reenactment months later.

Yes, you read that correctly. I actually played out the Golden Lagoon cartoon episode complete with painting Transformers with gold paint. If you look closely at the copyright stamps on the bottom of his feet, you can even see one of my fingerprints from the gold paint. I was inspired to do this after my Dad introduced me to model cars and the paints that go with them. 10 year old me saw gold paint, I had Transformers, seemed like a great idea at the time. An idea that was superseded by the Scraplets week when I decided that I would take apart all of my Transformers with screwdrivers while playing out a Scraplets storyline, inspired by the Marvel Comics. My Transformers had much fun during my childhood and this gold paint remnants brings a smile to my face thinking about those fun days.

Primus has been busy. Those Transformers are like petro-rabbits!

Hard to believe how many G1 Bumblebee toys I own now, not to mention the other 150+ Bumblebees I've photographed so far from my collection. What's even crazier is how many more Bumblebees are in my collection that I've never photographed, or how many Bumblebees I don't even own (such as the Estela ones). On the left side of the photograph: Encore Bumblebee, BotCon Glyph, e-Hobby Bug-Bite, near perfect rubsign Bumblebee, and Fun-4-All Keychain Bumblebee. On the right: G2 Bumblebee, G1 Bumblebee red version, Collection Bumblebee, and the G1 Bumblebee replacement I bought at BotCon 1996 (the rubsign came off and was replaced with an Autobot sticker from the Autobot sticker sheet included with Takara's New Year's Convoy set).

Ryan's 1st Transformer with Lost-and-found Soundwave from 2nd grade

One last early childhood memory of my Transformers. In the above photo, my 1st Transformer is pictured alongside Soundwave. One day in 2nd grade, I saw Soundwave sitting in the Lost-and-found window of the school office in my elementary school. I went into the office and asked the secretary if I could have it. She asked if it was mine and I told her no. She said that if the toy was still there in 1 week and on one claimed it, that I could have it. Every morning and afternoon for the next week, I went by the Lost-and-found to see if Soundwave was still there. The level of anticipation and excitement that built over the course of that week was probably more than I could handle. One week had passed, Soundwave was still there, and the Secretary let me take him home. For the next year and a half, Soundwave led my Decepticons against Perceptor's Autobots until Santa Claus brought me Ultra Magnus and Galvatron in 1986.

Side note: The Decepticon symbol on Lost-and-found Soundwave was made on my parent's inkjet printer way back in 1995. Man was I excited that I could make reproduction symbols. Unfortunately, I lost interest in that and was very content with what I had created.

Share Your Childhood Transformers Stories

So that's my 1st Transformer toy, everyone. It's been officially photographed so that it can continue to endure the sands of time. I hope all of you will share your own personal stories about your 1st Transformer(s) related memories on our forums so that others can enjoy hearing about what captured your imagination. While I love collecting Transformers toys, the memories of my life that come along with these toys are one of the greatest parts about collecting Transformers, and thanks to events like BotCon, the memories continue to be one of the parts that I cherish most from this hobby.
