As all of you are probably aware by now Disney made big news last week when they announced they had purchased Lucasfilm for over 4 billion dollars. It looks like Mickey and company haven't put away the old checkbook just yet.
MTV Geek is reporting a rumor that Disney is now in negotiations to purchase Hasbro! It's just a rumor for now, but according to MTV Geek a reliable source has stated high level discussions are happening at this moment. Click
here to visit MTV Geek for the full story.
Is Opti-mouse Prime in our future?
MTV Geek wrote:Well, we have it on good authority that serious discussions are happening at the highest levels of both Disney and Hasbro to fold the largest toy and game company on the planet into the Mouse.
MTV Geek wrote:The acquisition would give Disney the rights to Transformers, G.I. Joe, Dungeons and Dragons, Beyblade, Battleship, Nerf, and Magic: The Gathering among several dozen other game titles and IP. When you add Marvel and Star Wars to that list it’s a pretty comprehensive lock on boy’s entertainment; a far cry from a few years back when Disney was heavily criticized for losing its grip on boys.
The ramifications to the Transformers hobby could potentially be extremely significant. Everything from the upcoming 2014 Transformers movie to BotCon locations to potential exclusives being available at Disney stores could be affected by this decision.

Twitchfilm.com is reporting that they have learned that Mark Wahlberg is in early talks with Michael Bay to star in Transformers 4? Wahlberg has just finished working with Bay in his upcoming film "Pain and Gain". If this casting choice becomes reality, where does that leave the recent
casting call for a male and female lead? As always, treat this rumor with a grain of salt until official confirmation.
*EDIT* Michael Bay has updated his website to address this rumor:
The Mark Wahlberg T4 rumor is just a rumor.
Mark and I are talking about another film project.
-Michael

ComingSoon.net had this to say:
The 2014 section kicked off with the next entry of the Transformers franchise. Obviously there was no footage to show, but the title does reveal a clever logo, the right half of the standard transformers symbol acting as the stem of the number four.
And there's information on upcoming movies, such as G.I. Joe Retaliation, Bay's oft mentioned Pain & Gain and Star Trek Into Darkness, among others. The article is well worth a read, which you can find
here.
As for the symbol, also not shown, some fans have taken it upon themselves to come up with ideas to try and show off the design. (Unfortunately, we currently have none of our own to share.)
So, tell us what you think! Feel free to join the discussion, post your own ideas for the new logo.

Transformers 4 won't hit theaters until June of 2014, but the rumors are already starting to fly. The latest rumor making the rounds originates from
Spoiler TV and states that the new human leads will be a female high school senior and her boyfriend, a race car driver from Texas. Director Michael Bay has stated on several occasions that the film will feature a new cast, both human and robotic, but keep in mind that no source of any kind was cited. Multiple entertainment websites have picked up on this rumor and ran with it, but it should be taken with a grain of salt for the moment.
Spoiler TV wrote:It looks like Transformers 4 will have 2 new leads.
The new female lead that they are looking for is a high school senior and her boyfriend a Texas racing driver.

Hugo Weaving is a prolific actor. His roles have run the gamut from sci-fi to drama and everything in between. Whether it was little seen or box office blockbuster, the man has done 'em all.
Multimedia site
Collider.com has posted a rather lengthy and in depth interview article with Mr. Weaving, concerning his past, present and future film works. Of importance to us, he speaks about his time as Megatron and unfortunately how unimportant it was to him, as an actor. You can read the full article
here. If you want just the tidbit that pertains to us, we've quoted it, in full, here:
As the voice of Megatron, has Michael Bay called about the next Transformers movie yet?
WEAVING: No. That’s a weird job for me because it honestly was a two-hour voice job, initially. I was doing a play and I actually didn’t have time, anyway. It was one of the only things I’ve ever done where I had no knowledge of it, I didn’t care about it, I didn’t think about it. They wanted me to do it. In one way, I regret that bit. I don’t regret doing it, but I very rarely do something if it’s meaningless. It was meaningless to me, honestly. I don’t mean that in any nasty way. I did it. It was a two-hour voice job, while I was doing other things. Of course, it’s a massive film that’s made masses of money. I just happened to be the voice of one of the iconic villainous characters. But, my link to that and to Michael Bay is so minimal. I have never met him. I was never on set. I’ve seen his face on Skype. I know nothing about him, really. I just went in and did it. I never read the script. I just have my lines, and I don’t know what they mean. That sounds absolutely pathetic! I’ve never done anything like that, in my life. It’s hard to say any more about it than that, really.

Courtesy of the
Planet Iacon facebook page we an image of what could be artwork for an upcoming Asian exclusive box set of Classic Seekers. The art features all six Seekers and has the bears the
Transformers Asia watermark at the top of the image. Chalk this one up as a rumor until confirmed, but this does seem to fall in line with their model of reissuing older releases with updated decos into the Asian market. Check out the artwork below.

A fellow fansite (
The ALLSpark) has
information from one of their posters, SwiftEagle, pertaining to the Japan release of Botshots. Images from the store were included as well. (NOTE: We have mirrored the pictures here for ease of viewing)
Here's what he had to say:
So here's an oddity! A friend in Japan was contacted by *his* friend in Japan with the info that Bot Shots have been released there, but only in one store (that he's seen so far). There are six toys out, each with two different packaging variations. Seems like a test market run to see how they'll do at retail there.
Followed by this:
Additional info!
The line is called BeCool (pun on "vehicle"). Bumblebee is the battle-mask version from the latest Hasbro wave. The price is 714 yen.
As of this news posting (09/19/2012) 714 yen is equivalent to $9.11 USD, making them nearly three times the domestic price. It's currently unknown if this test market will expand, or if these are just a store exclusive. We'll keep you updated.

Update: Transformers Prime fans can breath a sigh of relief, Combs has clarified that there will be a at least a fourth season of Transformers Prime.
We have some interesting news regarding the future of Transformers Prime out of
Ep-Con 2012 where voice actors Tony Todd (Dreadwing) and Jeffrey Combs (Ratchet) were in attendance.
MiraiBaby of fellow fan site TFW2005 attended a panel where Combs stated the upcoming season three would be the last for Transformers Prime:
Unfortunately this iteration of the franchise is coming to an end
He also stated he had just finished his recordings for the last episode of season three, which is slated for 16 episodes.
While this isn't official confirmation that the
recently revealed Transformers Season 3 "Beast Hunters" is the overall end of Transformers Prime it's certainly all very interesting.

CBR just posted an article covering Activision's SDCC 2012 Transformers: Fall of Cybertron panel, which featured voice actors Peter Cullen, Nolan North, and Gregg Berger. During the panel North mentions working with Cullen and Berger on both Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Transformers Prime. As usual this should be taken with the normal grain of salt until officially confirmed, but IDW did announce a Dinobot tie-in comic for Transformers Prime season three and Grimlock, who Berger is famous for voicing, is a very high profile character at the moment thanks to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Will Berger be joining Transformers Prime? If so, will he voice Grimlock or an all new character?
The full article can be found by clicking
here.
Berger spoke about voicing Grimlock, stating in the Dinobot's voice that he was "driven by aggression!" Without any filters to get in the way, Grimlock's strength has a great capacity, even if it's slightly out of his control. Berger thought it was incredible role for an actor to play. He also did a little bit of "Me king!" in Grimlock voice, much to the delight of the crowd, while explaining what a great ally he was to the Autobots team.
North, the iconic voice of Nathan Drake from the "Uncharted" games, explained how much fun it was voicing both Autobot (Cliffjumper) and Decepticon (Bruticus), changing tones for each character. He jokingly poked at Berger in his Bruticus voice, similar to his Grimlock role. He also felt honored to watch Berger and Cullen work, both on this project and the animated "Transformers Prime" series.
