Fellow Seibertronian Optibotimus has informed us of a contest to win a Starscream Polystone Statue, worth 1,750$. While it would have been fun to keep that info to ourselves to help our odds to win, it is only fair to share this opportunity with you all. This Sideshow contest is to commemorate 175,000 subscribers to Optibotimus' youtube channel.
Via the Takara Tomy Transformers page, we have an update on the new iteration of the Lucky Draw campaign taking place for the Adventure line - a gold plated Warrior class Optimus Prime (you can see the Hasbro version in its gallery here), in the limited number of 10 items, and a selection of 30 batches from the TAV line for 'second prize'.
The contest, running from now until 30th September, is open to collectors living in Japan, as shown in the poster below!
Hot on the heels of his Optimus Prime spotlight video for the TFCon Transformers/G.I. Joe print, artist James Raiz has opened up the second round of nominations for the Decepticon/Cobra sibling piece!
Much like the first round, you get to choose one Decepticon and one Cobra character from the list below (if you think that someone is missing let us know!), and James will then take the final nominations and include them in a print - but hear it from him:
The Transformers app for mobile devices which was used for the fan-built combiner has been updated and repurposed with the 2015 Hall of Fame nominations! Three categories are up for grabs, with three nominees each:
Favorite Character (Galvatron, Optimus Primal, Prowl)
Best Combiner Character (Bruticus, Devastator, Predaking - strangely shown in the Beast Hunters incarnation)
Best Musical Act (Ford Kinder and Anne Bryant - creators of the Transformers theme; Vince DiCola - general score composer; Weird Al - song and voice contributor).
In addition, you can also browse the bios sections for more information on each of the characters - the robots, not the humans. Check out some screeshots from the app below!
Fellow Transformers fan and Seibertron.com member fenrir72 has spotted a tweet by Toys'R'Us, revealing another characteristic for the upcoming fan-built combiner Victorion (as revealed here). We already knew she'd be facing off Galvatronus (of whom you can find our gallery here) and his mind-bending powers - but it looks like the six-member team will be able to control gravity! Check out the teaser image below.
You might remember the Takara Tomy Q-Transformers collaboration with Decks Tokyo Beach we reported on not too long ago - we now also have an official video clip to promote the initiative, with Q-Transformers Optimus Prime and Bumblebee starring as hosts, and a glimpse of Lockdown too. Check it out below!
Thanks to a tip from fellow Seibertronian Emerje, we can report on a Takara Tomy Q Transformers Return of the Mystery of Convoy series-themed event in Odaiba, Tokyo Bay, next April 29th! You can find out more at the official website here (in Japanese) or over at Crunchyroll here.
The Decks Tokyo Beach shopping center in Odaiba, Tokyo Bay, Japan, is teaming up with Q Transformers: Return of the Mystery of Convoy in a promotional campaign beginning on April 29, 2015. The event kicks off with a special live event featuring Ryuhei Kimura, the voice of Bumblebee, and Kōtarō Ishidate, the director of Q Transformers.
There will also be special lottery style drawings for prizes, such as Q Transformers character goods and free passes to Joypolis, a Sega-themed amusement park located at Decks Tokyo Beach.
The collaboration campaign also includes a special theme menu for the Decks Tokyo Beach Dipping Dots ice cream store. Purchases of these desserts come with one of three collectible coasters, while supplies last.
Q Transformers: Return of the Mystery of Convoy is a 2015 Flash-based anime series that premiered on such websites as Niconico and Youtube. It features Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Lockdown discussing ridiculous things in a fashion very similar to shows like gdgd fairies and Hi-sCool! Seha Girls.
The campaign runs from April 29 until May 17, 2015.
