With the holiday season kicking into full gear, trying to find ways to satisfy that Transformers need while not killing your wallet has been the main focus of many Seibertronians. Here's one way you can get into the holiday spirit without making another trip to the ATM.

With the purchase of a Robot Heroes set, and a couple items I picked up at a local hobby store, I created a Transformers based holiday ornament that wasn't just a figure hanging there. An idea of Seibertron himself, we present Hero Ornaments:

First we start with a set of Robot Heroes figures. Best thing out this is that this can work with any figures from the line, but I picked G1 Sunstreaker and Galvatron to be my test ornaments.

{L_IMAGE}
(Note: I tried to mimic Seibertron.com's top notch gallery set up, but it didn't work out so well.)

Next you'll need some additions. I got these Christmas deco's at a Michaels store nearby. I spent about $5.00 USD on it.

{L_IMAGE}

Now the building materials. I used a hot glue gun because its fast drying and solid. You can get the same affect with some super glue or other heavy bonding glue, but if you ever want to revert these guys back to regular figs, good luck.

{L_IMAGE}

Notice I included the base of the packaging for the two. This will serve as the platform for the ornament. I bonded the bottom and top together to get a sturdier piece.

Next, prep the additions. I couldn't find the Santa hats on their own, so I bought this pack of Santa ornaments and removed them. Bonus is that these came with the hanging string attached, downside was they were also glued on and had to be taken off very carefully.

{L_IMAGE}

Now just glue and set. Make sure to see exactly where you want your extras to go prior to placing glue. Like I said before, a hot glue gun or super glue will set pretty fast, so you're gonna have to know where you want what you want before you decide to glue. Let the figures set for about 5 minutes so the glue bonds cure before hanging.

{L_IMAGE}

And there you have it. Transformers holiday ornaments that actually look like holiday ornaments.

Happy Holidays Seibertronians!

HK-TF.com has posted some new images of the alleged Movie Soundwave figure from the Revenge of the Fallen toy line. The pictures looked to be darkened out, not showing all the details of the figure, so I've taken the liberty of lightening them up a little bit without trying to compromise the integrity of the original pictures.

{L_IMAGE}

From the looks of the images, this appears to be his Cybertronian mode, reminiscent of Transformers Cybertron Vector Prime:

Could this mean we will see three Movie Soundwave figures? Cybertron mode, Satellite mode and an Earth mode? Stay tuned to Seibertron.com to find out.

Seibertron.com News Moderator Fender Bender informed me of a sale going on at Target Stores in his area. He asked me to go ahead and check out my local stores to see if this sale was available there as well.

After checking prices using the in house price check scanners, both scout class figures and TF Movie legends figures were on sale. My local price for scout class figures was $8.99 USD on sale for $4.99 USD. Movie legends were priced at $6.99 USD and are now $4.99 USD as well.

Store associates at my Target store confirmed Fender Benders report that this sale will be going on until December 4th, 2008.

Now would be a great time to get those figures you didn't want to pay top dollar for and possibly help out our efforts to support Toys For Tots.

Seibertron.com mdverde has posted an update regarding TICOBOT, the first Transformers Convention ever to be held in Costa Rica. After what we're being showed here, we can only imagine what to expect next year. Here's what was shared:

Ticobot was a huge success beyond all expectations.

Early in the morning on Saturday, November 1st, it was noted that this won’t be a normal weekend at the Children’s Museum. The crowd seemed eager to enter to the building where the first Transformers convention in Costa Rica will be held. A long queue of about 600 feet was formed out of the former stronghold and the people stream was constant during the day and even was increased during the Sunday.

At the main lounge of the Youth Complex of the Children’s Museum, named “Kaopakawe” (by its aboriginal name), several sponsors and mini-stores were located, with a lot of Transformers related products, among comics, mecha and anime stuff. In the back yard of the building, some real cars were shown, including a Shelby GT500 2008 that left with their mouths open to many people, by for its resemblance to the Camaro Bumblebee from the live action Movie. Also a classic Volskwagen Beetle was shown homage to G1 Bumblebee, and a Transformer-themed Nissan Sentra.

The display of thousands of figures from characters from all Transformers eras, from 1984 to 2008, talks, movie and cartoon projections, contests, trivias, video games, face painting for children, and even a Soundwave costume, gave a lot to talk about to attendants and the media, telling that the event was a total success, even exceeding the organizing group expectations.

{L_IMAGE} {L_IMAGE} {L_IMAGE}

The event closed with a little concert with the excellent Costa Rican band Tres16, who performed several songs from the Transformers cartoons and movies, and also from other 80s cartoons.

{L_IMAGE}

According to official numbers from the Children’s Museum, 7,000 people attended Ticobot 2008 during the weekend, breaking all assistance records. Long queues were made to enter the main attraction of the event, the figure display area.

Entire families came to enjoy the convention, even from the most remote cities of the country and they left very satisfied, asking why there wasn’t an event like that before, and when will be the next one.

Right now, the Ticobot group is working in the “Ticobot 2009” that will be held on July 2009, some weeks after the premiere of the film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”. See you next year!

The National Retail Federation recently conducted a survey amongst holiday shoppers and got the scoop on what consumers say are the hottest toys to grab this Holiday season.

The TRANSFORMERS brand ranked 5th in the top 10 toys for boys catagory, just behind Video Games and the Ninentdo Wii console but beating out Star Wars and XBOX 360.

2008 Top Toys for Boys

1. Video Games
2. Nintendo Wii
3. LEGO
4. Cars (generic)
5. Transformers
6. Elmo
7. Star Wars
8. Hot Wheels
9. Remote Controlled Vehicles
10. Xbox 360

Another interesting report the survey had was that 77 percent of shoppers who participated had less than 10 percent of the their holiday shopping done. In a statement made by NFR President and CEO Tracy Mullen, she cited that “Americans may be hesitant to purchase expensive gifts this holiday season, but personal and practical gifts will resonate most with shoppers this year.” She also said that “Though many companies have already been featuring substantial sales and discounts, retailers may still have a few tricks up their sleeves to attract and entice holiday shoppers.”

Whoa nelly! With Walmart already featuring Transformers Deluxe class figures at $7.77 USD, and TARGET Stores following suit at $7.79 USD for the same class figures, the thought of getting better deals on Transformers figures may just bump Video Games out of that number one spot.
