Earlier this morning, I received an answer back from Pete at the Transformers Collectors' Club who clarified my questions about the "mix-up" with the gun/weapon accessories included with Shattered Glass Drift. Here's what he had to say:
This appears to be a running issue with the factory. Since the guns are not actually suppose to come with the Drift mold (at retail) it looks like many toys, if not all, just received whichever two guns were selected when they were packed out. I understand that it is a technicality, but all we said was he would come with two guns. While we would have thought they would have come with a left and right gun, the factory did not seem to think it was necessary, and these are how these were packed out...
So, to clarify, we are not changing how the toy was intended. The toy was intended to have two swords which can be stored in the doors and two additional guns included as additional accessories, and ones that were never meant to come with this mold.
All that said, after all the product is shipped out and all figure defects (missing arms, broken pieces on the figure) are addressed, we may be able to come back to this depending on how many issues are out there. The easiest solution may be for people to bring to BotCon and exchange there. Perhaps we designate a Drift gun swap at the info booth.
For now though, we can't take any exchanges...

Hasbro would like all of us here at Seibertron.com to pick our top 5 choices for this year's
Transformers Hall of Fame's fan choice, which will be tallied together with results from the other Transformers fan sites, to create the official ballot. Hasbro has already nominated
JAZZ,
GRIMLOCK, and
SHOCKWAVE. It's up to us to determine who should be the 4th nominee.
Phase 1: Over the next few days, we want you to tell us your top 5 picks.
Please do not pick any previous Hall of Fame inductees. We'll tally those results together on Thursday, March 1st, 2012 to determine which Transformers should be in Seibertron.com's poll. You must have your nominations posted in the corresponding forum topic here no later than February 29th, 2012 at 11:59PM Pacific. The more nominations a character receives, the better chances that character will appear in Seibertron.com's list that gets sent to Hasbro.
Phase 2: Hasbro will then tally the results together from all of the Transformers fan sites to create the final ballot which will be available on
Transformers.com some time in March.
Phase 3: The winning Transformers character will be announced at Hasbro's 2012
TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame ceremony at
BotCon in Dallas, TX on Saturday, April 28th, 2012.
The other three nominees of this year's four Transformers to be nominated for the 2012
Transformers Hall of Fame are
JAZZ,
GRIMLOCK, and
SHOCKWAVE. Tell us your top five choices for the next spot so that we can tally our results by next Thursday.
Here is the additional information from Hasbro regarding this year's
Transformers Hall of Fame process ...
Hasbro wrote:February 23, 2012
Hello, TRANSFORMERS fans!
In 2010, Hasbro inducted humans and robots from the worlds of toys, entertainment and CYBERTRON into the inaugural class of its
TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame, honoring more than 25 years of "robots in disguise" action. Now in its third year, Hasbro is once again turning to fans to help finalize the 2012 robot inductee class.
Hasbro’s internal panel of judges has chosen three iconic characters to induct into the TRANFORMERS Hall of Fame in 2012 - Heroic AUTOBOTS JAZZ and GRIMLOCK, as well as evil DECEPTICON SHOCKWAVE. But we need your help to determine this year's fourth robot inductee!
If you have received this email from Hunter Public Relations, we would like to invite you to submit nominees from your fans for the fan-voted
TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame inductee.
Poll your readers to determine the characters they wish to be considered for the
TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame and share your outlet’s top 5 list with us by March 1, 2012. Your outlet’s polling results list should be ranked in order of importance from 1-5. All polling result lists will be combined together (each outlet getting an equal voice) with the #1 character on each list worth 5 points, the #2 character worth 4 points, the #3 worth 3 points, etc. The resultant point values will be used to generate the final ballot of five choices, which will be upon later in March on
Transformers.com.
The winning character will be announced at the
TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday, April 28 at BOTCON, the Official TRANSFORMERS Convention in Dallas, TX.
The
TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame was created to honor those influential in building the iconic entertainment brand, as well as the actual "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE." The inaugural induction ceremony was held at BotCon 2010. TRANSFORMERS influentials Bob Budiansky, Peter Cullen, Hideaki Yoke, and Kohjin Ohno were members of the inaugural class, along with five notable robot characters that are a part of Transformers lore. The previous robot honorees (who are ineligible for the fan-voted slot in this year's ceremony) are:
- OPTIMUS PRIME
- BUMBLEBEE
- MEGATRON
- STARSCREAM
- DINOBOT
- IRONHIDE
- RATCHET
- SOUNDWAVE
- WASPINATOR
Thanks, and roll out!

We're back with another exciting episode of the
Seibertron.com Twincast Podcast. As always, you can download the Twincast directly from
iTunes or here at
Seibertron.com's Twincast RSS feed.
This week, host Mike, and regular members Matt, Bob, Jon and Ryan continue our discussion of BotCon, started in
last week's episode.
After getting up to speed with Ryan and Jon, we launch into the latest BotCon reveals:
Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus
Metalhawk
Shattered Glass Octopunch
What does the crew have to say about head molds? What did we say about the color schemes of this year's figures? What are our thoughts on molds used? Tune into the Twincast to find out!
Next up, we discuss the registration process. Find out our thoughts as well as listen in to find out who's going to the customizing class and what we think the figure may be.
Next, we discuss the recently revealed Transformers: Prime toys, although our full coverage of the main line will be in a future show.
Be sure to check out our
full coverage of the UK launch of the main line, as well!
Finally, we discuss something very important out in the real world: SOPA and PIPA. On Wednesday, January 18th, 2012,
Seibertron.com and many other large websites, including Reddit and Wikipedia, took part in a
massive blackout to protest the US Goverment's proposed censorship and anti-piracy laws. See more about the topic in
our extensive article. If you aren't familiar with these pieces of legislation, we recommend a few minutes of reading on these topics that could threaten your civil liberties!
We wrap up with some light-hearted bragging rights!
Stay tuned for another exciting episode of the
Twincast/Podcast, and remember that
Seibertron.com is your ultimate Transformers resource!
