I received my promotional copy of Transformers The Movie 20th Anniversary DVD from Sony BMG today. Here's the text from the back of the DVD box. I typed it as fast as I could on my lunch break. I apologize if there are any errors in my typing below.

------------------------------------------------------

A war has been waging on the planet Cybertron for millennia. The Autobots, led by the heroic Optimus Prime, prepare to make a daring attempt to retake their planet from the evil forces of Megatron and the Decepticons. Unknown to both sides, a menacing force is heading their way - Unicron, a planet that devours everything in its path. The only hope of stopping Unicron lies within the Matrix of Leadership and the Autobot who can rise up and use its power to light their darkest hour. Will the Autobots be able to save their homeworld from destruction or will the Decepticons reign supreme?

The all-start cast of voice talent includes Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Robert Stack, Orson Welles, Scatman Crothers, Casey Kasem and Leonard Nimoy.

Our own Jess has received an update from Vince DiCola and has decided to share it with everyone. Here is what Vince DiCola had to say:

"Hello again,

We're grateful for the positive reaction we've been seeing regarding the piece of music we posted a few a days ago. As requested from some of you, the music is now available for a free download. Please enjoy it for your own use (or as a soundtrack to your sister's wedding video), but any and all commercial use is prohibited without obtaining proper licensing.

In addition, we're posting another piece of music for your listening pleasure. Some of you may recognize this as part of my "Castle of the Gods" suite I had been commissioned to compose for one of the TF conventions some time ago. The entire suite was obviously inspired by Transformers, and as Kenny and I were going through some music to update we decided that part 3 of the suite is a cool 'evil' theme. Hope you like our revamped "Castle of the Gods/Part 3":

Thanks again for all the kind words.

Cordially,
Vince"

Our own Jess has posted some cool news about new Transformers Music by Vince DiCola. DiCola originally posted a message about it on Don Murphy's Web Site. However, he also sent Jess a copy of the post as well! Here is what Vince DiCola had to say:

"Hello to all,

I am presenting this piece of music as a special "Thank You" to all my friends from the Transformers community...

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=610622 Click this link to listen and get to the song! It is called Transformers Suite 2006.

Some of you may recall hearing this arrangement when I performed it at the last convention I attended years ago. My partner Kenny Meriedeth and I began re-working my original arrangement about a year ago and we continued to work on it even after learning that a composer had been chosen to score the new live action film. As you will hear, this piece features some 'snippets' from my score to the 1986 animated movie, along with the original Transformers theme presented in an updated fashion.

I hope you enjoy this music and we wish everyone the best on the new movie.

Thanks again to all my fans!

Cordially,
Vince DiCola"
