In a communication from Metrodome to several Transformers sites, the following updates were revealed to us. The third Takara box of the series Transformers: Victory is on course to be released on December 26th. A podcast of the first episode of Victory is expected to be put online on their TransformersDVD Board late December.

The release of the UK version of the 20th Anniversary special of Transformers: The Movie has been pushed back to a May 2007 release date. This version will be remastered straight from the negatives to a PAL conversion. The movie will be presented in a widescreen format and will not use the same soundtrack on the movie that was used in their previous 2005 release of Transformers: The Movie - Reconstructed, which contained several errors. Chris McFeely, who has done commentary on the HeadMasters, MasterForce and Victory boxes, will be consulting in all the material to make sure this DVD release will be the best release to date.

According to thetransformers.net the TransformersDVD site will also be updated and relaunched next year.

Thanks to stormrider of our Energon Pub forums for translating the three Masterpiece Megatron articles that appeared in the latest Japanese Hobby Magazines. Thw translation reveals the folloewing inforation about this much anticipated figure:

The first image:The Headline roughly translates: The true king has returned

As you know Megatron will be an oversized Walter-38 (no surprise there).
He will be due out at the end of March, 2007. His suggested retail price is Y1,0290.
His transformation will be explained in next month's issue of this magazine. (Unfortunately, I don't know the magazine's name, sorry  ).
At the very top, "Takara Land" is referenced.

The second image:

Accessories

Update from Dengeki Hobby magazine

In particular, Megatron will have a LED inside his fusion cannon. Also, Megatron's head is based on the Transformers "The Movie"

It is that time of year again. K-Eye TV has done an expose on Family Fun Magazine's toy award for the Top 10 Must-Have Toys for Christmas, for kids aged 3 to 7. At the fifth place for this year the spot was taken by Star Wars Transformers. The video clip of this article in particular mentions the Chewbacca/Han Solo duo set.

"And Star Wars is still hot with the kids. The Star Wars Transformers also made the top ten list. They're made by Hasbro and sell for $40. The Family Fun toy testers took Han Solo and Chewbacca and then transformed them into the spaceship, the Millennium Falcon. It has flashing lights and sound effects and lots of bending, folding, twisting and snapping that the young builders loved".

Fellow transformers site The Energon Plant has interviewed David Cian, one of the writers of the Transformers novels a few year back. In the interview, Cian talks about how he got into writing as well as talking about his upcoming novel, which is the prequel to the Transformers Movie currently in post-production, called 'Ghosts Of Yesterday'.

"I knew that the movie was coming out and that it was likely there was going to be at least one book. I kept talking about it with the people involved and when the opportunity was available, my agent got in touch with the publisher who had been planning on contacting me anyway. It worked out nicely for everyone, I think".
