Theyareamongus.com have put up an update on the season 2 DVD release of Beast Wars in Australia. The following has been taken directly from their report.

"Madman have done it again; use this code to receive free shipping/$5 off any order at www.madman.com.au for Beast Wars Season 2. Just hit www.beastwars.com.au and follow the link by clicking on the packshot for quick access. Add Beast Wars Season 2 to your shopping cart, enter the code before confirmation and you're good to go!"

"Madman have put a lot of work into this set, in fact, the special features alone are almost too good to have on one set (over 3 hours of new content), and Season 2 is widely regarded as one of the best seasons of animation ever! This is where Transformers fans who don't know much about Beast Wars should definitely jump on board, because events in Beast Wars link directly into what happened to the Autobots and Decepticons before they woke up on earth!

Some buzz on those extra features:

+ Soul of Beast Wars - Story Editors Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio go in-depth with Ben Yee on all things Beast Wars. The writing process, the fans, the links to G1 and much more, includes background footage and images from relevant episodes - runs a full hour!

+ Audio Commentaries - 7 commentaries on key episodes chosen by the Story Editors, over 2 and a half hours of extra Beast Wars info

+ Early animation tests - Direct from Mainframe, early models and scenes, most never seen before!

+ David Kaye fan panel - the voice of Megatron at Transformerscon 2004

+ Garry Chalk fan panel - the voice of Optimus at Transformerscon 2005

With more including Toy Galleries, commercials, a booklet with episode summaries and a great article on Beast Wars from Mainframe fan consultant Ben Yee".

It's been doing the round for weeks now, some say its a CGI test of the Movie, others just a fan made clip, but whatever it is it's damn good!

Simon and Sven organisers of UK Transformers Convention Auto Assembly have released the third in thier series of podcasts leading up to Auto Assembly Target: 2006 taking place at The Clarendon Suites, Hagley Road, Birmingham on 3rd June 2006. They have sent us the following message:

    Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that the third Auto Assembly podcast has just been uploaded to the server today and it's our biggest show yet running in at an astonishing 83 minutes!! Why is it so long? Take a look at what's on the show and you'll see why...

Once again, the show has all the latest news and developments on Auto Assembly: Target 2006 including exclusive news on our latest additions to the charity auction and new items on display as well as an exciting event taking place at the convention. We've also got a great competition sponsored by Titan Books with FIVE copies of the graphic novel Dinobot Hunt to give away.

The show itself has plenty of great stuff including the first part of our interview with comic artist Simon Williams, the second part of our look at the history of Auto Assembly, plenty of general Transformer chat including a look at toy repaints, E-Hobby's Twincast, and loads more. On the music front, we have six great tracks (many of which have been taken from albums this time) including tracks from Wally Wingert and top video games musicians Bjorn Lynne (composer for the legendary Worms series) and Andrew Barnabas (Primal, Beast Wars). If that wasn't enough, the show also has a special guest appearance from G1 voice actor Neil Ross (Slag, Springer and many more)!

You can download the show, and the first two if you haven't already got them, from http://www.autoassembly.org.uk/podcast.htm as an MP3 file. Feel free to send us your comments and suggestions about it to us at podcast@autoassembly.org.uk (you can even send them as MP3 files for us to feature on the next show!) or alternatively you can leave them on the forum at http://autoassembly.proboards7.com

Enjoy the show and we're looking forward to seeing many of you next month at Auto Assembly: Target 2006 and thanks to all of your for your support so far with the shows and the convention!
