Jim Sorenson updates again with set images from the episode "Master Builders" involving two under-appreciated Autobots, Grapple and Hoist, and their duping by the Constructicons. Don't worry the baddies get theirs in the end...

The artwork is not about the robot designs here, but as stated they are the designs for the setting elements: the solar collector, Grapple's studio, and more.

Check it out if you are into the Generation One show designs. Jim Sorenson keeps sharing more and more cool items that were cut from his great informational resource books, THE ARK COMPENDIUM, and THE ARK COMPENDIUM II.

You can see the image and previous add-ons at Jim's blog at the Disciples of Boltax.

Thanks for sharing Jim!

disciples of boltax- It's time for Jim Sorenson's weekly update, where this guidebook guru (see: Ark Compendium's I and II) shares the pieces of his collection that were not able to be published in these guides.

This week's update: A nicely shaded model entitled 'Scorponok' in shadows.

"In Headmasters, Scorponok spent most of his time sticking to the shadows when he was first introduced. (A quick note - the small headmaster figure, that which was called Lord Zarak in the US, was called Scorponok in Japan. The larger figure, called Scorponok in the US, was called MegaZarak in Japan.) Rather than just draw in shadows to the existing model, he received a whole new shadowy design, probably to make him look scarier. Let's face it, Scorponok's basic design just isn't all that creepy. I also included his transformation, such as it is."

Check the G1 drawing/model out here, at the Disciples of Boltax blog where Jim shares his thoughts, ideas, and more.
