TFormers is reporting new details about the Transformers Alternity line, which they gathered at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2008 from the TakaraTomy booth.

You can view the original article here.

1) The Alternity is a different series from Binaltech.

2) The size is 1/32 scale so it can easily fit on any desktop thus the size is slightly larger than deluxe size figures.

3) The pricing scheme was based on today's cost of the various materials used (die-cast, plastic etc).

4) There are two colors of the car because the silver was used to represent a real NISSAN GT-R color that is only available now and the red was chosen specifically because it is a Convoy.

5) When transformed, the rear seats becomes the feet, the front seats when folded down becomes part of the armor surrounding the arms and the roof and the front grill have a spring action mechanism. The video demonstrates the spring action mechanism where the front grill is divided into three pieces: right, left and center. The right and left sides encloses the center piece.

6) Because the license is heavily under the supervision of NISSAN, Takara Tomy would like sales schedule to start in November but it may be delayed to the end of the year.

7) Other Observations: The design of the head is similar to Nike and Fire Convoy

SDCC has updated their website with more information and pictures for the exclusive Skywarp and Nemesis Prime figures.

Classics Nemesis Prime
“This lowly warrior was reconstructed to be the very image of OPTIMUS PRIME. This NEMESIS PRIME figure has the shape of the mighty AUTOBOT leader, but his gray and black deco makes this figure unique. TRANSFORMERS VOYAGER CLASS figure changes from robot-mode to vehicle-mode and back again. Figure wields a wind vane that becomes an ion blaster, and a smokestack that becomes a laser cannon in robot mode! This HasbroToyShop.com exclusive launches at San Diego Comic-Con 2008!”

Titanium Skywarp
"This authority-indifferent seeker is now part of the Transformers Titanium Series brand. Standing 6" tall, this incredible figure includes display stand and case. Awesome detailed die-cast metal. TRANSFORMERS figure changes from robot-mode to vehicle-mode and back again. This HasbroToyShop.com exclusive launches at San Diego Comic-Con 2008!"

The San Diego Comic Convention runs from July 24th – 27th. The number of each figure to be produced has not been announced yet. Previous SDCC exclusive Transformers figures, like Alternator Nemesis Prime and Hot Rod were available after the event.

Today was TFCon 2008 in Toronto, Canada, which was Canada's 7th Annual Transformers Convention. Our fellow Seibertronian and Seibertron.com New Crew member Down_Shift was there to help cover the events from today. He sent me several text messages highlighting some items from the show today and said that he has a lot of pictures which he'll be sharing with us in the next couple of days. To tie you guys over, here's what he said via text message earlier today:

"Hey boss, Fan projects are here at tfcon and they are showing the magnus upgrade kit with a TFCon exclusive Powered Convoy (Diaclone colors). There's also a new Alternators Prime kit too. Gas can become G1 ion blaster and new rad support becomes matrix chamber and matrix. Lots of pictures! I just took so many up close pictures of Universe Ironhide and his weapon. You fold his hand back to attach his weapon to his wrist."

I'll be sure to share his pictures with all of you as soon as I get them!

Simon Plumbe has just informed Seibertron.com of the newest update regarding Auto Assembly 2008. Here's what he had to share with us:

Auto Assembly 2008 Prize Draw!!

Pre-registrations are coming along really well for Auto Assembly 2008 and we're well on course to beat not only our all-time attendance record but the European attendance record as well, but there's still plenty of time to get your bookings in if you haven't already and there are plenty of reasons for you to pre-register!

Early Admission

Not only will pre-registrants get earlier access to the convention compared with on-the-door attendees, therefore giving you a better chance of grabbing the early bargains from all our dealers, but with our now infamous goodie bag, there are some items that are limited in terms of how many we have. Some have already run out but with others that we are trying to negotiate, these may be limited so the earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting more free gifts on your arrival!

A Better Convention

Next, as you know, Auto Assembly 2008 is a non-profit making event so every penny we get from registration fees goes back into the convention towards venue hire, guest expenses, equipment hire, stationery, printing, postage and producing items for the goodie bag such as our postcards. Now, the more people who pre-register, the quicker we can pay all our costs and then the more money we have left over the more we can invest to give YOU a better convention!

For example, if we break even well in advance, then not only will we have two exclusive postcards but we may be able to afford to produce a third postcard free for everyone, or book an extra UK comic guest or add extra items to the programme for the day. Who knows, but we can't do it without the money being there!

Prize Draw

Finally, EVERYONE who pre-registers will be entered into a FREE prize draw to win a selection of Transformers goodies! We're talking to some sponsors at the moment to see what items we can get but we already have some items prizes up already! We won't say what right now but keep an eye on the website for news on what they will be but remember, this is for pre-registrants ONLY and the winner/runner up will be announced on the day!!

What's Happening On The Day

It's going to be our biggest Auto Assembly yet with no less than TEN guests including all our usual comic guests and headlined by G1 voice actor Dan Gilvezan (Bumblebee). There will be a comic guest Q&A panel, a talk/Q&A session from Dan later in the day, guest signings, a charity auction and raffle, videos, a quiz, toy and art displays (including a display of rare "lucky draw" toys), plenty of dealers and much more besides!

So if you haven't already booked, head on over to the website now to book your tickets and we hope to see many of you there in August!

Brian from The Transformers Collectors Club has just sent out an email to members regarding the club exclusives preorders. Here's what he had to say:

We are still waiting on the programmer to fix the bugs in the pre-order routine. As soon as you can pre-order these, we will send out an email. No rush as it looks like from the poll in the club forum that you would prefer for us to be able to ship them together instead of separately. We anticipate these arriving in late summer as the boxes are being finalized now. We could have shipped Nightbeat earlier but now we will hold them until the SeaCons are ready. This will save you shipping.

Also, just a reminder, there was an error in China and we won't ship the free club figure TopSpin until the end of this month. Sorry for the delay, we were sad as well... ;(

Thanks for your support!

Brian

PS. No, we don't have a location for BotCon yet. Still working on it, so keep watching BotCon.com!

So it looks like Nightbeat and the Seacons will ship together and save Club Members some cash on shipping charges.

Keep checking back here on Seibertron.com as we will update you with information as it comes in.
