For those who can't make Botcon, SDCC is usually a pretty crucial convention.

Why you may ask? Well, at Botcon they make us promise to not take pictures, basically, so they can use the same slides to impress others at this other future big convention we have gotten to know as SDCC.

So now those who have just been imagining what things like 25th Anniversary G1 Hound with Ravage look like, and that awesome G1 Cyclonus with Nightstick, well you can wonder no more.

Here are the highlights, you can skip them and just check out the Tformers gallery if you would like.

Animated
-Animated Sentinel Prime, Elite Guard Bbee, Ultra Magnus, and Swoop
-Animated Activator Cliffjumper new head sculpt!
-Animated Blurr
-Animated Swindle
-Animated Shockwave and Longarm
-Leader Megatron 'Shadow Blade' Repaint- Purple/black deco

Lots of good stuff in the future for fans of Transformers like us!

This is a limited release, but how limited we do not know. Hasbrotoyshop.com will be taking orders for what is left over on Monday, but if you want to be sure to get yours, maybe you want to set up a pre-order with BBTS. Past history has shown us that exclusives live up to their name a very high percentage of the time.

The retail price for Nemesis Prime at SDCC is $24.99.

No word on any Titanium Skywarp pre-order, yet. His retail price at SDCC is $19.99.

Seibertron.com member Skalor is reporting with the goods from the IDW Publishing Panel at the San Diego Comic Convention. Here's what he had to share:

After a not so revealing IDW panel today at SDCC, there were only a few new tidbits of upcoming releases by IDW. They confirmed that a Spotlight Cosmos is in the works, and they talked about the upcoming Spotlight Blurr a little. They said to expect Blurr as you've never seen him before (Pre-Great War on Cybertron, not annoying). Other upcoming titles discussed were Maximum Dinobots, Animated, Destiny (Movie Prequel), and "the 13," but not really any content. One thing said about the Animated issues was that Oil Slick, originally slated to be a toy only character, will be brought to life in the Comics. There was some new artwork that was showed from the Blurr issue and the upcoming All Hail Megatron issues (which look great...Ravage!!!!!!) Another tidbit revealed was the creation of a new character: Drift. He's designed really well and is modeled after a "Japanese drift-race car." The real cool news behind this is that they said Drift will be made into a toy by Hasbro. Lots of good stuff coming, lots to look forward to!

But that's not all. Seibertron.com has found a IDW Panel Q&A with writers that are at the convention along with Writer Simon Furman, who is not at the SDCC. This information confirms what was reported above by Skalor. You can find the Q&A here at Newsarama.com.

Mighty Muggs have made a big impact with it's release in the Star Wars universe and is even branching out into other universes such as Marvel, Indiana Jones and even G.I. Joe. But now they plan on becoming more than meets the eye! Debuting at San Diego Comic Con is a G1 Optimus Prime Mighty Mugg. The back of the packaging shows a release for Bumblebee, Soundwave and Megatron. As these become more and more popular you can probably count on many more Transformer characters coming out in this cutesy, trendy format.

You can view the photos of Might Muggs Optimus Prime at TFW2005.com.

Rebelscum.com was able to snap some pictures fromSan Diego Comic Con Preview Night of some upcoming Star Wars Transformers. A few of the older figures are being re-released in the new style Star Wars packaging to correspond with the new Clone Wars and Legacy packaging.

For new figures there is General Grevious who transforms into his star fighter, a black repaint of Emperor Palpatine who transforms into a Imperial Shuttle. In the background there is a packaged Anakin Skywalker who transforms into a Episode II Jedi Star Fighter with Lightspeed Ring. At the far right is a new repaint of Obi-Wan who transforms into the Episode III Jedi Star Fighter. This deco looks to be the one that was in a exclusive 2 pack with Darth Vaders Tie Fighter last year. Finally there is a new figure in the background (in front of the packaged Commander Cody Battle Tank) of a new figure. From the looks of the figure, it appears to be a Clone Pilot who transforms into the new Clone Wars V-19 Clone Shuttle.

Seibertron.com has just received another update from Auto Assembly organizer Simon Plumbe and it's probably the biggest update EVER!

Here's what he had to say:

Hasbro Display At Auto Assembly 2008!

Back again for another Auto Assembly update but this one is a biggie! With only 10 days to go until what is shaping up to be the
biggest ever Transformers convention in Europe, you'd think we'd finished with the major announcements but oh no! Read on and find out more...

Hasbro Makes Their Auto Assembly Debut!

Well, it's been seven years in the making but we are pleased to announce that - for the first time ever - there will be a rather special display from Hasbro at Auto Assembly 2008... We're not saying what it is yet, you'll just have to come along for yourself and find out but we think you'll be pretty impressed!

Auto Assembly Guest Number 11!

Yes, you read it right, we have just confirmed our ELEVENTH guest!! We are now going to be joined by artist Martin Griffiths. Martin worked in a limited capacity on the original Marvel G1 comic, illustrating one of the Christmas stories and providing cover art for some of the comics, before moving on to illustrate the UK G2 comic. This will be Martin's first appearance at Auto Assembly so we hope you'll make him feel welcome.

Do we have any more surprises up our sleeves...? Only time will tell!! See you all on 2nd August!

For all the latest information on Auto Assembly 2008, to book online or to download booking forms or for more information on anything in this update, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk

Seibertron.com member waaaaghlord is organizing a group meet up at Auto Assembly 2008. If you're a member that got to do the group meetup at Botcon, then you know how much fun these can be. Here's what waaaaghlord had to say to our UK brethren:

With less than two weeks to go before the UK's Auto Assembly convention in Birmingham and many of the UK board members planning to get together at the con for a bit of a knees up I figured that it was about time to start making plans for finding each other in an event with a turnout of 400+ people. Things have mainly been bandied about in the ODB thread over in sightings, but I figured a thread in GD would get spotted by folks not in the habit of checking in there. There has been talk of making badges of our avatars, even of getting some tshirts printed up, but the best aproach is probably to keep things simple.

The doors open at 10.30, so what I would suggest is to agree a meet up point (in front of the bar makes a lot of sense to me) and a rough time to do a meet and greet (an 11.30-12.00 window should give everybody time to get in, have a look around and get oriented).

In order to help us identify one another it might be useful to post your attendee number (which is on your confirmation slip and will be on your con badge), a recent photo or physical description of yourself and what you're likely to be wearing. Also if anyone waqnts to trade mobile numbers to make finding each other easier then that might not be a bad idea, although I'd suggest we do that via PM.

This thread can also be used to talk about what we're wanting to pick up from the dealers at the con, if we can keep an eye out for each other's wants then we can help each other come away with some cool scores on the day.

To get the ball rolling I'm attendee # 143, I'll be wearing a full legth black leather coat and sporting white hair and beard. PM me for my mobile, and if anyone spots a Movie Big Daddy early in the day be sure to tip me a wink.

Are you planning to attend Auto Assembly, here's your resource point to get together with your fellow Seibertronians and let the world know WE ARE SEIBERTRON!

Attendees of this years San Diego Comic Convention will be treated to a host of great appearances and exclusive goodness, but one thing they won't get to do is meet the man, the myth , the legend that is Simon Furman. Mr. Furman will not be attending the SDCC this year so that he can, instead, attend the United Kingdom's biggest Transformers based convention: Auto Assembly.

Sad for SDCC attendees, but great news for our UK brethren. Mr. Furman will be joined by a host of other great TF legends such as Andrew Wildman, Geoff Senior and Staz Johnson. And he also states he'll be bringing along lots of goodies for attendees to get signed.
