Seibertron.com has just received another update from Auto Assembly organizer Simon Plumbe and it's probably the biggest update EVER!

Here's what he had to say:

Hasbro Display At Auto Assembly 2008!

Back again for another Auto Assembly update but this one is a biggie! With only 10 days to go until what is shaping up to be the
biggest ever Transformers convention in Europe, you'd think we'd finished with the major announcements but oh no! Read on and find out more...

Hasbro Makes Their Auto Assembly Debut!

Well, it's been seven years in the making but we are pleased to announce that - for the first time ever - there will be a rather special display from Hasbro at Auto Assembly 2008... We're not saying what it is yet, you'll just have to come along for yourself and find out but we think you'll be pretty impressed!

Auto Assembly Guest Number 11!

Yes, you read it right, we have just confirmed our ELEVENTH guest!! We are now going to be joined by artist Martin Griffiths. Martin worked in a limited capacity on the original Marvel G1 comic, illustrating one of the Christmas stories and providing cover art for some of the comics, before moving on to illustrate the UK G2 comic. This will be Martin's first appearance at Auto Assembly so we hope you'll make him feel welcome.

Do we have any more surprises up our sleeves...? Only time will tell!! See you all on 2nd August!

For all the latest information on Auto Assembly 2008, to book online or to download booking forms or for more information on anything in this update, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk

Seibertron.com member waaaaghlord is organizing a group meet up at Auto Assembly 2008. If you're a member that got to do the group meetup at Botcon, then you know how much fun these can be. Here's what waaaaghlord had to say to our UK brethren:

With less than two weeks to go before the UK's Auto Assembly convention in Birmingham and many of the UK board members planning to get together at the con for a bit of a knees up I figured that it was about time to start making plans for finding each other in an event with a turnout of 400+ people. Things have mainly been bandied about in the ODB thread over in sightings, but I figured a thread in GD would get spotted by folks not in the habit of checking in there. There has been talk of making badges of our avatars, even of getting some tshirts printed up, but the best aproach is probably to keep things simple.

The doors open at 10.30, so what I would suggest is to agree a meet up point (in front of the bar makes a lot of sense to me) and a rough time to do a meet and greet (an 11.30-12.00 window should give everybody time to get in, have a look around and get oriented).

In order to help us identify one another it might be useful to post your attendee number (which is on your confirmation slip and will be on your con badge), a recent photo or physical description of yourself and what you're likely to be wearing. Also if anyone waqnts to trade mobile numbers to make finding each other easier then that might not be a bad idea, although I'd suggest we do that via PM.

This thread can also be used to talk about what we're wanting to pick up from the dealers at the con, if we can keep an eye out for each other's wants then we can help each other come away with some cool scores on the day.

To get the ball rolling I'm attendee # 143, I'll be wearing a full legth black leather coat and sporting white hair and beard. PM me for my mobile, and if anyone spots a Movie Big Daddy early in the day be sure to tip me a wink.

Are you planning to attend Auto Assembly, here's your resource point to get together with your fellow Seibertronians and let the world know WE ARE SEIBERTRON!

Attendees of this years San Diego Comic Convention will be treated to a host of great appearances and exclusive goodness, but one thing they won't get to do is meet the man, the myth , the legend that is Simon Furman. Mr. Furman will not be attending the SDCC this year so that he can, instead, attend the United Kingdom's biggest Transformers based convention: Auto Assembly.

Sad for SDCC attendees, but great news for our UK brethren. Mr. Furman will be joined by a host of other great TF legends such as Andrew Wildman, Geoff Senior and Staz Johnson. And he also states he'll be bringing along lots of goodies for attendees to get signed.

Auto Assembly organizers Simon and Sven have sent out another update for the UK's Transformers convention that is less than two weeks away. Here's what they had to say:

Auto Assembly 2008 Update - 21st July 2008

We're just TWELVE DAYS away from Auto Assembly 2008, and we've got some great news for all of you planning on coming along to join us Birmingham and for those of you who have already booked up...

* Fast-Track Entry Confirmed! *

We've mentioned this once or twice, but we've now been able to confirm that we will be running a fast track admission system for pre-registrants who have arrived in Birmingham on Friday. If you are able to come along to the Clarendon Suites on FRIDAY evening between 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm and bring your confirmation slips with you, you will be able to collection your passes and registration packs instead of having to queue on Saturday!

What this means is that once the doors open to pre-registrants on Saturday morning is that instead of having to queue and check in, simply show your pass on the door and you can walk straight in at 10:30 am! Please note that when you collect your pass on Friday, you will not be able to spend time in the hall other than to get your passes unless you are a registered dealer, staff member or volunteer.

Naturally, this is for PRE-REGISTRANTS ONLY so if you haven't booked up yet and want to avoid the queues on the day, here's your chance!!

* Pre-Registration Prize Draw *

As you may be aware, we are running no less that FOUR prize draws for pre-registrants this year. There is our main prize draw with a selection of prizes for a winner and runner up (including tickets to Auto Assembly 2009!), and our latest draws to win Hulk DVDs, Transformers games and goodies from Activision and Transformers comics from Titan. All of these will be awarded randomly to winning attendees through vouchers that you'll find in your packs on the day BUT they are limited to PRE-REGISTRANTS only!

With 200 DVDs up for grabs, and 50 comics, over 30 games donated from Activison (with some appearing in our Charity Raffle) and lots more besides, there are an astonishing 276 chances to win!! Please note that ALL prizes MUST be claimed by the end of the day!

* On-The-Door Places Available *

With less than two weeks remaining to the convention, we are now in a position to confirm that there WILL be on-the-door places available for those of you who haven't booked and are still undecided. However, don't forget that pre-registrants DO get into the convention earlier and on-the-door attendees don't get entered into the prize draws so there's still time to pre-register this week!!

Well, we haven't finished there! We're still working on a few more surprises and announcements over the next few days so keep your eyes peeled! See you all on 2nd August!

You heard it here first folks! Mark Ryan, the voice of Bumblebee in the first Transformers Movie, will be returning to the set and audio booth once again for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen!

Here's what Mr. Ryan has to say on the subject:

”I can confirm that I am working on Transformers 2 - Revenge Of The Fallen and have been given the same job on set, voicing the Autobots for the actors, and have already done some voiceover work in the studio as well. It’s a privilege to work with the cast and crew again, it's very exciting and we are having a great time. I cannot comment on details about the film or the script, but there are some new characters that fans will love.”

Also of note, Mr. Ryan will be making an appearance at the San Diego ComicCon to discuss his new graphic novel "The Pilgrim" with Mike Grell during a panel on Friday, the 25th. And as a final bit of info, Mark will be starting a now as yet unnamed project next month.

So keep your eyes and ears open for further info and be sure to check the News Section for any future updates!

Simon Plumbe has sent update number two out regarding the Auto Assembly convention that is soon approaching. The first talked about goodie bags and attendee bonus's. Here's the next update:

Auto Assembly 2008 Update - 17th July 2008

With just over two weeks to go to until Auto Assembly 2008 - Europe's biggest Transformers event, we've got a lot of major developments taking place so rather than putting everything into one big story we've had to split everything into two big updates.

The last one focused on our major goodie bag developments but this time it's a little more general...

* Postcards *

In a change to our original plans, we are now going to be giving away THREE exclusive postcards this year instead of two and these will be featuring exclusive artwork from Simon Williams and Lee Sullivan. The third postcard was going to be illustrated by Mike Collins but sadly, because of work commitments, Mike was unable to do this for us so Kat Nicholson has stepped in to produce the artwork for our third card which will feature TF Animated Jazz! All three designs will also be adapted and produced as keyrings that will be on sale on the day!!

* The Cybertronian Times Issue 9 *

We are putting the final touches to the convention magazine, The Cybertronian Times, but there is still time to contribute YOUR articles and artwork! We are looking for articles, mini-reviews of the movie or any movie related merchandise or any artwork. Send them to our usual email address for inclusion by no later than Saturday 19th July 2008.

* Volunteering *

We still need more volunteers to come forward for the convention. We need one or two more to help with setting up, primarily giving our dealers a hand with their tables, but mainly now we are looking at getting support now on the day itself with our programme of activities and helping everything run as smoothly as possible. You wil have all had a volunteering form in your confirmation packs so if you want to get invovled, fill it in and send it back to us as soon as possible or download the form from the website and email it back to us!

We can't pay anyone for helping out but we DO have a little "thankyou" lined up for everyone who does help out but you MUST register in advance as a volunteer as we need to set up a vounteer rota and need to know who will be doing what and when.

* Auction Update *

With the change to the postcards, we are now obviously changing the artwork that is available. We won't be having postcard artwork from Mike Collins, but instead Mike has sent a couple of pages of artwork from one of the Doctor Who stories that he illustrated that had a cameo appearance from a gladitorial robot that bore a passing resemblance to everyone's favourite Autobot...!! We will also be getting the original artwork to the TF Animated Jazz postcard from Kat Nicholson so if you're looking for some great artwork the auction will have plenty on offer! On top of that we will also have some signed photos from Sandy Fox and Lex Lang (T-AI and Towline from RiD)!

* Pre-Registration Deadline Looms! *

There is STILL time to pre-register if you haven't already done so but you'll have to hurry! We are now aiming to ship confirmation packs out within 48 hours of receiving your bookings so as long as you pre-register by 23rd July from outside the UK or by around 8:00 pm on 27th July in the UK then we will be able to get your confirmation packs to you in time for the convention and you'll be entered into all of our pre-registrant prize draws!

* Want To Be On Telly? *

Okay, not quite, but once again Auto Assembly is being filmed to be included on a DVD!! We're not saying anything else right now but don't be surprised to find a camera pointing in your direction at some point during the convention! Saying that, there are also going to be people from the BBC there taking photos for the BBC website and you never know, there may even be radio presenters as well...

* Auto Assembly 2009! *

We're already looking at plans for Auto Assembly 2009 and in your packs on the day you'll find a questionnaire asking you some basic questions to help us shape our plans for our convention to celebrate 25 years of Transformers, the launch of the second live action movie and OUR 20th anniversary as a science fiction fan organisation!! We want to do something special and we're looking at the idea of doing a weekend-long event with not one, but TWO voice actors AND a party on the Saturday night but we need YOUR feedback so please fill in the forms on the day!

* Fast-Track Entry *

We have mentioned this idea before about allowing those of you who who have pre-registered and arrive in Birmingham on Friday the chance to check-in early so you'll be able to enter the convention straight away as soon as the doors open on Saturday without having to queue or check in. We're just waiting for confirmation from the venue on when we'll have access on Friday night so we'll be able to let you all know this for definite about when we can do this on Monday!

* Toy Collection *

Just a reminder about the toy collection that we are running for Help A Local Child. Each year, Help A Local Child - as part of their work - holds a Christmas Tree appeal, collecting toys each year that are then distributed to needy children or those who are living in deprivation or who may be in hospital etc. who may be in a position that they wouldn't normally be receiving Christmas presents. We would ask that if you have any unwanted BRAND NEW toys that you want to donate, please bring them along and leave them at the registration desk. They MUST have the CE safety mark on them but apart from that they can be anything - action figures, board games, jigsaws, boys or girls toys and don't have to be limited to Transformers but they MUST be NEW. Last time we collected SIX BOXES full of toys that we handed over to the appeal and we'd like to thank everyone for their generous donations. Let's see if we can't make it more this time!!

Well, that's it for now, but we've got more announcements up our sleeves soon so keep your eyes peeled on the net! Auto Assembly 2008 is going to be a great event and we can't wait to see you all there on 2nd August!
