Simon Plumbe of the UK based Transformers convention Auto Assembly has dropped us a note of a new update for the scheduled event due to take place in August 2010. Here's what he had to share:
Auto Assembly 2010 is proud to announce that Garry Chalk, the voice behind Optimus Primal in Beast Wars and Beast Machines and Optimus Prime in the Unicron Trilogy, will be attending Auto Assembly 2010 as it's first confirmed guest of honour. With a staggering 14 seasons of Transformers under his belt, Garry is the most prolific voice actor to have played the role of Optimus.
With Garry joining us for his first ever Auto Assembly convention, and a second voice actor to be announced soon, joining our existing line-up of comic guests Auto Assembly 2010 is set to be the biggest convention ever seen in Europe taking place on Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England.
Tickets for the weekend are on sale now through the website for £45 for the weekend for adults and £35 for children, students and senior citizens, with under 5s admitted free. Single day passes will be made available for sale closer to the convention.
For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk
For a rather special announcement about Garry's appearance at the convention, check out this video here on the official Auto Assembly Youtube Channel:
Good news for Danish Transformer fans, and surrounding fans from the Scandinavian countries, as the Nordic TransFans Association presents the Nordic Mini-Con 2010, which will be in Aalborg, Denmark. Here's what they have to say.
The NTFA Staff is pleased to announce Nordic Mini-Con 2010 in Aalborg!
Two years ago we held the first ever Nordic Transformers convention, in Arlöv in Sweden. The convention was a big success - we had presentations, competitions, a customizing class, a popular art contest, an exhibition with some more exotic (from a Nordic perspective) Transformers figures and other sci-fi figures, a sales room, plus the worldwide première of the first episode of Transformers Animated. People came, chatted, mingled, and had fun!
People have asked for it, we have been looking for opportunities to do it, and now it's time for the sequel: Nordic Mini-Con 2010! More of the same, only bigger and better!
The convention will be held in Aalborg in northern Denmark, with NTFA co-founder and staff-member Fighbird as the main organizer. Connections are great - you can get there by air (there's one bus going directly from the airport to the location for the convention), by train, and of course by car. If you live close to Oslo or Gothenburg you can take the ferry over to Hirtshals or Frederikshavn and then the train the rest of the distance to Aalborg. And if you live in southern Sweden, you can go by the Øresund train to Copenhagen and then switch to a train to Aalborg.
It will once again take place over the span of a weekend - the question is, which weekend? We are choosing between five dates in May and June, and now we want your input on which dates would suit you the best! Click on this link to go to the poll (you need to be logged in on the board to vote) and give us your answers! And feel free to give us your arguments for and against a certain date in that topic - we will consider all serious opinions. (The poll will remain open until 24:00 on 14 October).
Are you interested in contributing to Nordic Mini-Con 2010 somehow? Perhaps you want to sell/trade at a dealer table, or arrange a panel, competition or presentation - if so, please contact the NTFA Staff, either via a Personal Message or e-mail to one of the staff members, or via the contact form.
(Information on prices and how to register for the convention will be posted at a later date.)
MegatronSRT8 brings us news that NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman are going to be running special paint schemes at the race on October 17th, in Charlotte NC to promote the release of ROTF on DVD and ESPN is running a contest where you can win a copy ot the DVD signed by Megan Fox, or a trip to the NASCAR Championship weekend and meet both drivers.
Gordon's #24 car will feature a Megatron scheme:
Newman's #39 car will feature Optimus Prime:
(Thanks to Jayski.com for the pics of the cars)
Here's the link to the contest sight where you vote to see who will win the battle between the Autobots (Newman) and Decipticons (Gordon) on the track - a.k.a who finishes ahead of the other.
The Association of Collectors and Fans of Transforming Robots, is holding a Transformers convention during October 10th and 11th, entitled "Jornadas de Transfans Españolas".
The menu to include Transformers films and cartoons, projected on a big screen, contests, a Transformers painting workshop, an exposition of 1500 figures, from Generation 1 to Revenge of the Fallen, and more! So if you live in, or close to Madrid, Spain, you might want to check it next Saturday, October tenth.
Seibertron.com member and all around great guy Jeff from comicbook-art.com stopped by to share some upcoming convention information with us. Here's what he had to share:
I wanted to let you all know that Marvel Transformers artist Herb Trimpe will be appearing at several comic shows during the month of October. Herb Trimpe also worked on G.I. Joe for Marvel, including drawing the cover to issue #1. He is also well known for his work on Godzilla and his long run on Incredible Hulk, including the first appearance of Wolverine.
Generation One Decepticon Motormaster makes a life like appearance at a recent car show in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Motormaster takes the form of a 1987 Kenworth K100E, and without a doubt is a beautiful masterpiece. Take a look at the pictures below.
Thanks to our friend Charles for filling us in. Stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more news and updates!
As any Transformers fan can attest, the Robots in Disguise have an ability to make things all better in our every day lives. It looks like they'll be taking their "Human Alliance" a step further to help out a great cause.
On October 4th, 2009 at 11:00 AM, Hasbro Children's Hospital will be hosting its inaugural "The Walk: Hasbro Childrens Hospital" Fundraising event. All walkers are welcome to join the event that will be paced by none other than Bumblebee, the first official 2010 Chevy Camaro.
Walkers and their teams from all over Rhode Island and southeastern New England will be able to choose two-mile or five-mile strolls along the scenic and pedestrian-friendly paths by the rivers in historic downtown Providence. While the walkers share a common goal -- enhancing Hasbro Children's Hospital's care for kids -- many will have personal reasons for their involvement.
Timothy J. Babineau, M.D., Rhode Island Hospital's president and chief executive officer, says, "We decided to start this walk in addition to our very successful annual gala. This event will allow members of our community, who prefer to support a different type of activity, to help the young patients at Hasbro Children's Hospital. It's easy for anyone to get involved and be a part of The Walk."
On the heels of Seibertron.com's story regarding member complaints of not receiving the TFCon 2009 Exclusive lithograph "Universe Divided" by Alex Milne, we get a response to our inquiry submitted a few days ago. Here's what TFCon had to say:
Was just alerted to the message stickied on the front page of your website. Very hurt and disappointed that a story like this would be posted without hearing from the other side of the story as
it makes it look like the people that work on TFcon are crooks trying to scam Transformers collectors out of a couple hundred dollars by not shipping some posters.
Some people did not receive posters so last month we reshipped to those that indicated to us that they did receive their shipment. Some people have now requested refunds which they have received. [Going] over the topic I saw mention of 2 people from Australia, if they were to check their paypal/credit cards statements they should see that they were
refunded. I see 1 email here from yesterday requesting a refund but if there are still people that have not received it we will certainly refund
them as soon as possible.
In attempting to contact the post office outlet that these were shipped from it no longer exists. It sounds convenient but it's also the truth. Regardless if any of your friends didn't receive a litho have them email this address and will make sure it's checked daily so refunds can be issued so this can be resolved.
The email address that was used was email@example.com, the same email address located under the contact information on the TFCon website.
The folks of TFCon are dedicated individuals who volunteer for the event and are Transformers fans just like you and I. It is this Seibertronians belief that no foul play was intended and the Transformers fans of TFCon will do everything in their power to correct this situation.
Back in May of 2009, Seibertron.com reported that the Canadian Transformers Convention, TFCon, was offering non attendees a chance to own an exclusive art piece from the event. Universe Divided, done by artist Alex Milne, was a large poster done to commemerate the 25th Anniversary of the Transformers franchise.
Recently, members of Seibertron.com have been coming foward to claim that the TFCon exclusive lithograph has not been delivered despite ordering the poster. A couple members have even stated that communication between the folks over at TFCon had stopped and email inquiries were not being responded to. Seibertron.com also submitted and official inquiry to these allegations but the email was not immediately answered.
Have you ordered the TFCon 2009 Lithograph and either recieved it or not? Please let us know by clicking Discuss this topic above and help your fellow Seibertronians resolve this dilemna.
Seibertron.com, keeping you in the know, right now.
