The BotCon website has been updated to reveal that Scott McNeil will be coming to BotCon 2010! He is perhaps best known to Transformers fans as Dinobot, Rattrap, Waspinator, and Silverbolt in Beast Wars. His other work includes lending his voice to Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing, Koga, in Inuyasha, Piccolo and many other characters in Dragon Ball Z, Wolverine in X-Men: Evolution, and Hohenheim in Full Metal Alchemist.

The official Botcon website has been updated, and with it comes news that Paul Eiding will make an appearance at the convention. Eiding was the voice of Generation One Perceptor.

Image

PAUL EIDING is proud to have voiced Perceptor from the original Transformers Generation 1 cartoon. Though sometimes finding it difficult to comprehend Perceptor’s excessive use of scientific terminology, and an expansive vocabulary, Paul has ALWAYS loved and respected Perceptor’s never ending quest for knowledge, and the belief that intelligence is as important as brawn. “It takes more than muscle to fight.”

Paul is the voice of Grandpa Max on Cartoon Network’s BEN 10, as well as Colonel Campbell in the METAL GEAR SOLID series. He can also be heard in AVATAR: The Game, NO MORE HEROES: Desperate Struggle, DRAGON AGE: Origins, as Zephyr, in RATCHET & CLANK, and listen for him in STAR WARS: The Old Republic and STARCRAFT II. He is presently in rehearsal of a new play, “IN THEIR OWN DEFENSE”, which he authored. It will premiere in July in Los Angeles.

The second reiteration of the Universe Prowl mold has made it's way into Taobao, and courtesy of TFclub, we get some new high-res images of the figure. Available to those who attend Botcon 2010, it is unknown whether the figure will be the free attendee figure, or part of the side sets. The remold goes by the name of Rapido, homaging a Generation 2 character colored in red and teal. This homage not only provides a better toy for the character, but features all the decals that the original toy did, with the number '19' on the sides of the car, 'Autobot' on the windshield, and the G2 Autobot Logo on the hood of the car. Rapido also features a brand new head sculpt, also paying homage to the 90's character. Feel free to check out the pictures below!

The third Transformer revealed to be part of the 2010 Botcon Box Set went by the name of Streetwise. Due to unknown reasons, that's been changed to Streetstar. Accompanying Streetstar is his Autobot friend Pyro, while the rest of the set features Decepticons Clench and Breakdown, as well as Predacon Sky-Byte. The figure is a clear Generation 2 Homage, in colors reminiscent of Protectobot Streetwise. The figure is a repaint of Universe Prowl, and is not the only use of the mold in this year's convention. Feel free to check out the images of Streetwise below, thanks to TFclub at Taobao.

Seibertron.com member s250 has made two interesting comments on his Twitter Channel regarding an Energon Scorponok figure

for people waiting for the scorpion toy we talked before, disappointed news:it's not a new mold.just Energon Scorponok repaint.

1000 limted???

If this rumour pans out, and if the reported limited numbers are accurate, it is most likely that this may show up as a Botcon 2010 atendee figure. Given the scattered theme of figures that we've seen so far in the atendee figures, ranging from mid G1 (Sharkticons), to late G1 (Slicer) to G2 (Rapido); there is really only one figure in that scope that would make sense, and that would be Double Punch, released in Europe in 1991.

Is this rumour true? If so we'll find out at Botcon!

Things may have been quiet for a couple of weeks for Auto Assembly apart from a few small announcements through our website. We have been busy behind the scenes continuing to work on processing bookings, preparing for the launch of our Non-Attendee Package and working on the first of this year's convention exclusives which we are now proud to announce...

Following the success last year of our convention exclusive comic, we are once again working with IDW Publishing and we will have another convention exclusive variant cover of a forthcoming Transformers book from IDW. This year, we are working with Transformers dealer Toyz And Gamez (http://www.toyzandgamez.co.uk) who are helping to make the comic a reality. The book is going to be Issue 9 of IDW's ongoing Transformers comic and our convention edition will feature a new cover with artwork from Nick Roche and colours by Liam Shalloo, both of whom will be in attendance at Auto Assembly 2010, as will the comic's main artist Guido Guidi!

The comic will be on sale all weekend from the Toyz And Gamez table and will also be part of the Non-Attendee Package which will be on sale shortly. If copies remain after the event, the comic will also be sold online afterwards.

Visit the Auto Assembly website now at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk to see a preview of the cover or to book your tickets for the convention or learn more about the event which is already shaping up to be the biggest Transformers convention that Europe has ever seen!

Spanning the weekend of Friday 13th - Sunday 15th August 2010 at the The Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre, Birmingham, England, the convention is playing host to a staggering 11 guests including three guests of honour (Garry Chalk, Scott McNeill and Derrick J Wyatt), and will feature toy and art displays, dealers, comic guests, free autograph sessions, a video games area, free workshops run by many of our guests, dedicated childrens programming, video screenings and so much more to be announced! There will also be Friday and Saturday evening programmes, exclusive for weekend attendees and the Saturday evening will play host to a party, a concert by rock band Next Of Kin (including a Transformers themed set with music from the 1986 animated movie!), costume competition, our voice actors will take to the stage to perform a BRAND NEW script written by Simon Furman and we still have a few more surprises in store...!

For more details on the convention, to see a full list of all the guests and activities taking place over the weekend, or to book your tickets, visit the website at http://www.autoassembly.org.uk

We hope to see you all in August 2010.
